  • Urgh right. I'm not real history buff, and I'm a pacifist, I don't believe in war or violence. Yes, Japan were in the wrong for what they did to Pearl Harbor, and in ways America did wrong as well. The way I see it - there are no winners in war - only losers. Every country involved will suffer, will lose civilians, will lose land etc... obviously there's more to it, but as i say, war only leaves losers.

  • Whatever fdr did everything he could to provoke the japanese to do something he just never imagined it would be that bad

  • Japanese payed for this.

  • what was the point from the war?.. why do we fight and kill one another? i dont see any "equal rights".. their trying gay marriage now trying to solve problems ? its not gonna solve anything.. were still gonna kill each other in battles and hopefully no wars soon with other countries..

  • Danny is sooo cute I hope he doesnt die. This movie made me cry bcuz of how many people it showed dieing

  • Why are you arguing about some shit that happened 80 years ago? No one that's alive today had anything to do with the decisions that were made back then.

    Shut the fuck up.

  • @3tgiac Dude fucking listen to yourself. Everything should be debatable, especially history, and do you know why? So we know wether or not it should happen again - in this case, it should not.

If we were not to debate history, even if it happened 3000 years ago, our society wouldn't evolve at all.

  • "P-40s can't outrun Zeroes, we'll just have to outfly them"

BULLSHIT! P40's had the Zero beat when it comes to airspeed. The tactic at the time was to "boom and zoom." Until the newer US aircraft came out, the adage was "Never turn with a Zero."

  • Japan will have their revenge when there line of advanced sexbots go haywire and KILL US ALL!!

  • Lol shotgun vs plane.... Yeah smart

  • Phew! Glad to get all that off my chest, now back to the movie

  • All this hatred has to stop. Sad to say this movie brought up old hatred but as far as I know (I'm 17 and in high school) this movie is quite historically accurate and well done, love this movie.

  • I am not advocating Japan's actions. I think war is terrible but I am merely trying to steer this argument into neutral because that's where it should be. American tourists should have the time of their lives vacationing in Japan learning about the culture trying the foods without this hatred. Japanese tourists should come to the land of opportunity without being called "Japs" (equivalent to the N word FYI so stop saying it) or shunned for something THEIR MILITARY OFFICIALS DID 50 YEARS AGO.

  • They didn't attack because they hate America. Remember what that one guy said earlier in the movie? "A brilliant man finds ways to not fight a war". So don't tell me Japanese people are heartless people. This was a necessity to them, just some like of the atrocities the United States commit to build to their empire. Look at Neville Chamberlain and appeasement. What choice did he have? What choice did Japan have?

  • Somehow I spent ten minutes reading these comments instead of continuing with the video. You can't trust the views of an American who only learns from AP United States History. I am currently living in the United States and studying a course called History of the Americas IB. IB stands for International Baccalaureate and they focus on the world's view on history. Japan had to attack Pearl Harbor in order to take out the Pacific Fleet so they can spread their empire in Asia.

  • 9:33 fucking spawncampers

  • bitches pliz its far better a nuke from the us than a nuke from hitler....just think the what if scenario that the us wouldnt get into ww2...there wouldnt be any normandy, russians would have lost and hitler would have totally dominated europe....

  • "I NEED MORE AMMO LADIES"

  • tired of all these america is this or japan is that. war is war. you cant stop it. what happen has happen. you cant change it. just face facts. Axis lost allies win? all soldier who die fighting are humans too, they have mothers and fathers. they are scared to fight. scared to die. and all you guys know how to do is argue that your country is better. Seriously, just stop

  • THE GUY WHO SAID WE'RE TRAPPED WAS THE GUY MILLER WAS BOXING EARLIER

  • some people in the water died due to the oil in the water and some only made it to shore

  • It really gets me that the men in the engineroom didn't even had a chance to get away.. they were drowning and they knew it.. ;( and ofcourse all the other man/women/children who died in this war!

  • How do you tell him to get going after he just watched his friend get shot down?

  • 2:20 ! i love it !

  • can we just enjoy the movie without all you guys arguing about political shit?

  • Goose!!! (tears) :(

  • An this makes me wanna cry I can't believe the Japanese did this but they did and F them I would be proud though to be in heaven knowing I died for America

  • you wont get any sympathy from me for the japs getting A-Bombed. they didnt have any.

  • When Rafe says that a P-40 can't outrun a Zero, but can outmanuver one, he's got it backwards. The P-40 was far outclassed in turn-fights so pilots took to attacking head on and diving away before the Zeros could draw a bead

  • RIP to the victims of Pearl Harbour, but also RIP to the innocent civilians of the nuclear bomb.

  • One of my biggest pet peeves on movies is when they are historical movies and they feel the need to insert a cameraman taking footage that was never actually taken with the actors in it.

  • At the end of the day only the innocent dies, and the ones who provoked it all are living it up in their cozy homes. There is no sense in wars

  • tora tora tora is 10x better than this crap of movie.

  • WTC and Pearl Harbor are the intrigues of the United States for deciding on war.

  • is snafu in this from pacfic?

  • we do nothing but fight with people ? have you not learned anything from pearlharbor ? dont poke a bear with a stick. ww2 we were minding our own damn buiss veitnam northveitnam was talking shit. desert storm, sadam was talking shit. i herd great brittian was excepting foreigners . if you dont like this country, leave it.

  • Two atomic bombs are easy to the Japanese empire learn...we are the USA....

  • only cowards hit you when you don't see it coming?? what do you call a flank?? its strategy...

  • 8:16 looks familiar:D saving private ryan!

  • 幾多の女子供を機銃掃射したのは誰だったか?

    東京大空襲をはじめとした各地の無差別爆撃は?

    広島長崎の惨禍は?

    アメリカ人はよく考えた方がいい。

  • destroyers going down like chickens....

  • I can't stop shaking. God damn the Japanese!

  • @Colinpatrickcantrell God damn the Americans!

  • its remarkable how hollywood, loves to make such films, at times instigating irrational, and critical responses, often more then not, emotional. Judging the dead, wont get u anywhere, judge the living, its more productive.

  • @KimInLosAngeles Lol and Again :'D

  • Comment removed

  • really they where in the water and couldn't do anything still those fucking japs are shooting, wtf?

america is a lot smarter though, 2 airplanes with 2 atomic bombs instead of 300 planes

  • fuck japs......

  • @KimInLosAngeles Haha and again got time on your hands :'D

  • 1:24 did he say something about call of duty?

  • Usa

  • they're kicking our butt , lets get to the planes ! love that part !

  • Yeah and only cowards attack when the others dont expect it, from behind. Justice was served

  • @chupis21 strategies man..like sniper..they shoot when the others dont expect it too..

  • For some reason :34-:40 makes me cry like a baby. And I neeeever cry during movies. The fact that even their strongest couldn't pull them out :( Ahhh why am I watching this. Back to studying for my history final I go.

  • titanic for men

  • @guropsy Yeah I disrespected a whole bunch of dead people. I'm 99% sure that none of them would read this. Fucking idiots

  • @IS0iOS Yeh and where would you be if it weren't for all those dead people. have some respect

  • @MeekyT13 I would be playing my Nintendo Wii on my Panasonic TV sitting right next to my Sony VAIO while carrying my Canon camera and driving a Toyota car. What do you notice about all these companies?

  • Firing on someone's ass when you outnumber them is pure cowardice.

  • This movie made it seem like fucking penguins were about to take over the world. Sigh....Just another over hyped event and movie.

  • @IS0iOS over hyped event and movie?..

do you realize how many people you have disrespected? Every single death in this World should be "over-hyped" the gift of life is priceless

  • @guropsy I don't think Tojo or Hitler's life can be considered priceless, yet alone those who were involved in atrocities such as Nanking, Bataan Death March, the Holocaust, Three Alls Policy, Babi-Yar etc. Not to mention those who served scumbag units such as Unit 731, the Death Heads Unit, Dirlewanger Brigade, Kwangtung Army, the Japanese forces in China, Kaminski Brigade etc.

  • now this is sad indeed.

  • god bless the world and not just america

  • Damn you Japan, and WWII,AND THE AXIS POWERS! YOU SON OF BITCHES!!!!! THATS WHY WE KICKED YOUR ASSES!!!!

  • @KimInLosAngeles haha again :'D

  • Only cowards hit you when you don't see it coming..

  • @emmalou11235 Only cowards uses two atomic bombs and loses to Vietnam.

  • @IS0iOS After somthing like this i think they had a right to use a Atomic fucking bomb

  • @idwtfmpeaass12 How does the actions of a ruthless Japanese ruler justify the killing of over a hundred thousand civilians? I think there are reasons out there that justify the use of the atomic bomb, but your reason is not one of them.

  • @13lackLight If a country picks a fight with my country, I would rather all their civilians die, then one of our soliders die. THEY picked a fight with US, they get what they deserve. Protect your own.

  • @sconedogg12 So, the Russians should have killed every single German? If the Russians had nukes, it would have been alright to just wipe them off the planet?

  • @13lackLight Option A) Invade with your military and lose millions of soliders (what Russia did). Option B) Demand surrender or you will bomb them with a new weapon. They refuse to surrender, drop the bomb. Demand surrender again, they say no, drop another. Finally Japan surrendered. I would rather two bombs be dropped leveling enemy cities, then have our soldiers die taking it by force. If Japan still refused to surrender, bomb the hell out of them until theysurrender.Luckily they gave after 2.

  • Comment removed

  • @sconedogg12 Oh dammit dude you're not even the same person I made the original comment to. He said: Pearl Harbor alone justified the nuke. Yes, your reasons for using it make sense. I thought I was still arguing with someone else.

  • @IS0iOS How naive of you. Had the a-bombs were not used and the Allies actually invaded Japan en masse, the country would have been blasted back to the Stone Ages and MILLIONS more would have died - hell, Japan probably wouldn't even become the economic power it is today.

Vietnam? Hell, when Saigon was being overrun, the US was not even a combatant of that war anymore, considering its combat units were withdrawn in 1973, two years earlier.

  • @IS0iOS What kind of American are you? The soldiers did their best but their hands were tied! Our nation didn't support them! How would you feel if you were risking your life and no one gave a crap? I suppose you would also have been in favor of the spread of communism, which has resulted in more deaths of civilians than any of the wars in modern era history, combined. Sorry if patriotism offends you.

  • @emmalou11235 Rules of war: If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying hard enough.

  • @emmalou11235 even fucking worst, they hit you when you're already drowning.

  • @emmalou11235 And people that actually kno whow to fight a war

  • @emmalou11235 That is the way people win the wars since...Forever. By being more clever than the enemy. Brute force is just one factor.

  • @BadBoy1986PL Exactly.

  • @emmalou11235 War is different. When it's the lives of millions and your entire empire is at stake, why waste more lives than u need to? It was a smart move by the Japs, we were stupid not to be ready with the signs we were given. It was our own fault.

  • @emmalou11235 Technically the Japanese spent ages gathering intel before attacking, it was a strategic manoeuvre to advance in the war not an act of cowardice. If it was a fist fight then that would've been a different story

  • @emmalou11235 it was a brilliant strategic move.

  • @emmalou11235 Really? Really? Only "Cowards" use surprise attacks?

If that's the case EVERY MILITARY IN HISTORY is comprised almost entirely of cowards, the surprise attack being one of the most basic tactics EVER.

  • @emmalou11235 You mean like how USA wiped out two cities, killing about 200 000 civilians? Women, elders, children.

  • @Narre5 Japanese "civilians" LOL. That is an oxymoron.

  • @Narre5 Hey, dont start something, you cant finish... We had every right to end the war ASAP.

  • @brethomuel786 Really? Is it the same with Agent Orange during Vietnam? Hey, how about Iraq? Do you think they had the right to fucking kill 200 000 american civilians when you attacked them? It's just sad how dumb you are.

  • @Narre5 Its not evem close to being the same, World War 2 was a total war where is was necessary to break the resolve of the civilian populace. Vietnam was a mistake in the first place b/c it was run by politicians and we didnt study the historical goals of our enemy. As for Iraq, the majority of the population is glad not to be ruled by a dictator and yes mistakes were made but the majority of the civilian deaths were not by U.S. forces.

  • @brethomuel786 The "total war" had come to an end before you dropped the bombs. Of course it was a good thing to make the pacific war to come to an end, but you did it in the wrong way.

I merely used the war in Iraq as an example. Perhaps vietnam would've been a better one. My point was that only because one country attacks another (Especially when it's an attack against their military) the other country don't have the right to bomb the shit out of there civilians to bring it to an end. Imo.

  • @Narre5 No, the total war came to an end when the surrender was accepted on the U.S.S. Missouri. I understand your point but comparing total wars to regional conflicts is simply incorrect. War is awful but during total war, it is very necessary to take the civilian will out of the war to win.

  • If you knew your history Japan was prepared to have the entire country kill themselves rather than let the USA take them. When I say have the entire country I mean not one person, army or civilian, in japan would be left. Small islands that were loyal to Japan, did they same exact things when the army landed

    @Narre5

  • You are an %#$(*%# hole with it was an attack on a neutral nation. Japan through the war broke the rules of war: no shooting Medics, no killing nurses, no I attacking medical vehicles. Japan was a crude unforgiving nation. Yet with all the Japense did to US will still gave Millions of dollars for the generates. USA USA USA USA

  • @Blitzfire315 As I said before - the japs obviously was not prepared to "have the entire country kill themself" since they gave up, right?. And you are incredibly naive and obviously know nothing about the war in Vietnam if you seriously believe USA don't break as many war laws and do as much evil shit during wars as Japan did.

Don't tell me that I don't know my history when,

first: It's not even mine, I'm Swedish.

And second: I still know it better than you.

  • @Blitzfire315 Stop....america knew this was going to happen and allowed it because they needed an excuse to enter ww2 in order to rebuilt their shattered economy....so stop.

  • @Narre5 Sorry to say but the war needed to stop. The U.S. forces were on the verge of invading the mainland of Japan anyways.. to stop a already long and bloody conflict.. we did what we did.

  • @NZS417 Very well. I understand that you as an american think it was a good thing to do, and perhaps it were in some points. But looking at it from an neutral point of view I still can't support the nuking of civilian cities.

  • @Narre5 Dont get me wrong, I dont believe anyone should die.. especially civilians. I do however feel as if we (americans) are left to answer for our former leaders actions and most of us were not even alive during this time so we have no idea what factors played into the dropping of the bombs..we are only left with what we are taught in the history books. It happened so long ago and I think both sides have moved on.

  • @Narre5 You are absolutely right. It would have been more humane to blockade Japan, and let the entire nation slowly starve to death. Elderly, women and children first.

  • @SCE2AUX Or how about fighting a war soldier vs soldier? Is that too much to ask from the "greatest" nation in the world? Land of the brave. Yeah right.

  • Comment removed

  • @Narre5 well, japan started it. those japanese officials woudve thought of that before they decided to fuck up and bombed pearl harbor. it wasnt america's fault. they just showed that the japanese that they cant ambush them out of the blue. japan in those years have the most shameful and stupid officials. they knew from the start that they cant beat america in front, so they stabbed Uncle Sam at the back. isnt that shameful japanese?

  • @Narre5 yeah, u mean like how the japanese mercilessly tortured, killed, filipios? when every single pinays they mee, they raped? even female children. they made filipino and american hostages walk that fuck up DEATH MARCH? THat served them right. USA killed more than 200000? japan killed over half a million women, elders, men and children who started it? japanese idiot government. anyway, USA cant give up w/o putting up a fight. REMEMBER THAT.

  • @chiko4792 Well, USA doesn't fight clean in that case, that's for sure.

  • @Narre5 way more clean then the japs, and Russians, and others.

  • @Narre5 DONT MESS WITH AMERICA PEARL HARBOR SHOULD BE TITLED.....PEARL HARBOR:JAPAN'S BIGGEST MISTAKE

  • @trevanismith Wow, that has absolutely nothing to do with what I was talking about.

Seriously americans, I know I'm being prejudiced now, but how come 90% of the americans I end up with in an discussion, wherever it might be, are complete goddamn morons?

It's sad how the stupid people of your country get so incredibly overrepresentated, really.

  • @trevanismith lol, and in 20 years time, you guys lost to communistic north vietnam

  • @trevanismith now you are idiot . Japan is the winner in this case .

  • @trevanismith or americas biggest for sleeping thinking they are the all mighty

  • @Narre5 why did it have to come to that dude, ask yourself that

  • @ArmyRangerish I know the reasons for the bombings. But I still don't support nuclear - or any kind of bombing - of civilian cities.

  • @Narre5 The Japs were more cruel. Besides, did you know that the creator of the nuclear bomb greatly regretted having made the bombs, and refused to make the hydrogen bomb during the cold war? It was the Japs' mistake.

  • @mineCraf0 minecraft is for nerds

  • @emmalou11235 Only cowards or someone smart enough to knock you down a peg before you mount a serious counter-blow

  • @danr2019 he's a soldier. soldiers die or live. so shut up and watch it before you say anything else stupid.

  • @sxpulidox well mr 15 yr old. This is a movie, not real life, he is an actor, not a real soldier, and this has also been critiqued as one of the most historically inaccurate ww2 movies ever.

  • Japanese were as evil as Nazis.

They abducted 200,000 Asians (also Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & buried them alive to save bullets.

Japanese govt won't apologize to any of surviving sex slaves.

In 2007, Japanese govt org bought 1 pg. of Wall Street Journal & filled it with OUTRAGEOUS LIES: 1) the females were whores who volunteered to service Japanese soldiers. 2) Japanese govt paid them more than Japanese army generals.

GOOGLE: Jan Ruff O'Herne - Japanese military sex slave

  • I love thi as pearl harbor movie.

  • Best World War Movie in my childhood EVER! ='' )

  • @JorJorArmany I pity your childhood then! In the list of great war movies throughout the years this one would struggle to to make it into the top 50, maybe even top 100. Mainly cus Michael Bay directed it.

  • This movie is so good and sad. I see ppl saying F**** the Japs and all that horrible stuff but war is war, nobody wins. The soldiers on either side is at the mercer of their government. I am pretty sure there were a lot of Japanese soldiers who wanted to stay home. Can every stop the hate.
