  • Lawry salt and french fries. Always a dish of pure win.

  • Wow.... $19.00 for a bag of Ghirdelli chocolate!!!!!!!

$15.00 for a box of Betty Crocker Fudge Cake mix!!!

$42.00 for a bag of Starbucks!!!!

$5.30 for the Lawry's Seasoned Salt!!!

That's SO overpriced! An example, the Fudge Cake mix is only $1.25 - $2.00 here! The bag of Breakfast Blend Starbucks is only $7.00 - $8.00 here! The salt is around $2 - $2.50! Honey, if you want food like this mail to you, let me know!

    Unreal prices!!!

  • Loved this and so understand. For me it is missing my Mom and Dad's cooking. My Mom's roast beef, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding and my Dad's Full English Breakfast on a Sunday morning. My sister and I would wait for about 2 hours while he made everything. Heaven on Earth.

I hope you enjoyed your late night cereal.

  • I love the smile on your face when opening the box...Looks like a kid at christmas... XD

  • @Acrimonator And that's face just for pork & beans, not for a PS3 or else kids get for xmas nowadays...

  • It's great to know that there's the little things you can get to stop you from going insane when you miss the comforts of home.

  • Seems like a cool way of celebrating Australia Day.

  • Nah super serious though I got a ikea 15 min from home and a grocier and jungle jims largest international market in the usa so they got foods from down under too... Hit me up with a list

  • Lol when shipping international label as gift easier to get past customs tax guys

  • I work in a grocery store that sells every item you pulled out of that box. send me a list, i will mail stuff to you. no joke.

  • But isn't there issues with customs and foods? Isn't there that issue with the japanese bank?

  • I wanan go to Chiba.. :/ my girlfriend was born there and she has relatives so i wanna go see them XD

Btw.: What does it actually cost for a can of campbells beans over in Japan? Would be interesting to know what it costs comparetively... Is it as bad as the 'Canned Tuna' prices are over there? Because I've heard that 'canned tuna' prices over there are AbSoLuTe MuRdEr?????

  • I so do understand you!

I live now in Germany, even though i grown up in Lithuania/Russia.

Germans have quite a different products, and even when it is the same product like bread, it doesn't taste like lithuanian bread.

I quite understand your high spirits! Cheers!

  • Us English/Australian people should surprise him with that kind of stuff every now and then

  • no vegemite? I'm shocked.

  • You look sooo happy. I know how you feel!

  • ooo i stayed in Chiba for a month last year...

  • Jordgubbs sylt from sweden :D best strawbarry jam in the world!:)

  • Blueberries with added flavour? Sorry but the best musli type cereal is ALPEN. When I have relatives visiting from England, they are obliged to bring me ReadyBrek and Heinz Piccalilli.

Ya gotta love those old familier tastes and smells, especially for us old farts. Sometimes the simple things in life mean so much. Nice screens by the way.

  • LOL! 'cept for the Starbucks, pork & beans and brownies, US viewer is STILL looking at foreign food!

  • Its like the opposite of the parcel we receiver to day. Pocky, Grape Gumi, Boss Coffee, and some instant noodles. Its good to know though, when I get dragged off to Japan that I will be able to get Pork n' Beans and Tea...

  • How about the shipping fees? Expensive?

  • @gd6585 Just been checking the site, and its a flat rate of 950 yen anywhere in Japan.

  • I'm not going to lie...your smiling happiness brought my day up lol ^^

  • I didnt even know Ikea did food items :]

  • I love how happy you are over a can of Campbell. Living abroad, I have the same reaction when I ever get my hand on food products made in my country. I know they're probably made in some factories, but they taste like home to me.

  • i loved the fast delivery xD

  • :( @1:43 thats not coffee x.x At best its a brand of shop for selling pretty drinks.

Besides Japan has some wonderful coffee roasters and you know the green bean last much longer than its roasted version.

  • it would probably be smart to buy a bulk of things that'll keep to save money on shipping, like peanutbutter. Because you can't get american style peanut butter in japan.

  • haha u move like an old japanese guy. is that the ancient japanese art of trying to do everything to perfection?

  • Lo.l When you tried to pronounce sylt jordgubb. :D Priceless! :D

  • Oy mate you seem to have missed the Vegemite, what meal would be compleat with out it, don't get me wrong english muesli is great but Vegemite is a must have.

  • Boing! xD

  • Love the way you say jordgubbs sylt. Nice try.

  • I look forward to go to a Japanese IKEA. Then I'll get most of those groceries I'll miss from Scandinavia.

  • I have a tin of the Amy's Barley soup in my cupboards right now!

  • if I do move back to japan I'm taking two suit cases (as big as they plane allows) full of nothing but long lasting food... the kind that isn't so easy to find in japan... that way I'm safe for a good couple of years when i start missing the taste of home :)

  • so, liking the new house?

  • I know for sure that when I'll live in anither country the thing I'm going to miss the most in terms of food is chips! I've experienced that chips tastes different in every country!

  • why its more easily for australians to imigrate to Japan?

  • @Unzaman Geographical location? The two countries are pretty near each other, with Japan a hop-and-a-skip north. #UneducatedGuess

  • How is IKEA in Japan? Is it pretty much exactly the same as in other countries? Sorry if you've already talked about this in another video.

  • I'm beginning to think this is how it all got started for the old Japanese farmer dude. One day he was clicking away at Japanese Friendly Japan's web site, and the next thing he knows is he's up to his eyeballs in sake cups, whiskey bottles, and nori. Before he can put stuff away, another man wearing white gloves brings more stuff. After a while it becomes overwhelming.

  • @LetsPosting There, and I was thinking he had tried setting up a failed five and dime business in town. Your explanation is much better.

  • 2:20! HAHA SWEDISH! XD

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom It's not surprising that you'd be so excited to receive food from your home country. =) I can imagine that living in Japan is great, but there's always that feeling of something missing, which is home.. =D The only thing that I'd buy (in terms of food) from Ikea are those meatballs. They're just too tasty! =P

  • Jag tycker också om jordgubbssylt! Men jag föredrar hallonsylt :-) A little bit of swedish for you guys :-)

  • @Enemtee Jag med. ;P

  • Comment removed

  • Haha, Ikea is the only place I know to get cloudberry preserves which I remember from Norway. That and the rye crispbread. Some things you just gotta have sometimes.

  • ne veggimite?

  • Nice as always thank you for sharing your video from California.

  • lol 0:47

    freaks me out:)

  • You should make a cooking video!!

  • I'm from Sweden and it's was very entertaining to hear you say "Sylt Jordgubb" hahah XD awesome video btw!

  • LOL... I'm from Sweden (IKEA-land) and I loved the way you pronounced Jordgubbssylt :) Thank you so much for all your videos! I love Japan and finding out new stuff about this country really means a lot! Keep up the awesome work!

  • It's nice to see you happy :-) enjoy the groceries!

  • That's fast delivery, I guess now we know what santa claus do the rest of the year

  • I'm Swedish and I'm offended. No not really, I love when english people try to pronounce swedish words :D. Soult Joorgengoob.

Here let me help you, [jω³rd~gub²e] almost like Joardgubbe, not gube or goobe but fast gubbe. :D Swedish lesson free of charge!

  • @Dethmoose24 "fast gubbe" XD

  • @Dethmoose24 It's even worse with Norwegian. Jordbærsyltetøy. I'd like to hear an Australian pronounce that :)

  • @Dethmoose24 What does Sylt mean? I just know Sylt - the most northern island of Germany.

  • @guardian040 Sylt can be compared to German Rote Grütze. A bit less liquid.

  • @guardian040

Jordgubbs sylt, I think is translated to Strawberry Jam. Where Jam = Sylt.

Come to think about it, it is Peanut butter and "Jelly". Jam and Jelly could be the same, but thats what Sylt is anyway :D.

  • @Dethmoose24 SWEDISH STYLE

  • I didn't know they sell Swedish labeled IKEA-food internationally, but still jordgubbssylt äger!!

  • Each time I'm watching your videos, I'm more and more disappointing from my country...

  • @funnygames93 Don't kid yourself, the Japanese are racists who don't think for themselves. They don't want foreigners in their midst for too long. They are gaijin, and will always be so.

  • you are awesome man

  • lmao sylt jordgubb

  • You call Starbucks coffee!?!?

  • @chopperboi89 What?

  • @MurdocLC

He shows a bag of Starbucks brand coffee during the "un-boxing" and at the end he says he's going to make some coffee. Starbucks is over-priced burnt tasting swill...

  • @chopperboi89

    Agreed. Overpriced lame tasting coffee.

  • @chopperboi89 Meh, all coffee is shit. I don't know why people drink it so much. -.-

  • @MurdocLC

Because we're all different and have varying opinions? Pretty obvious.

  • @Icolossu Yeeeh ofc. But I don't wanna be addicted to something like that, I don't need anything to be energetic. ^o^/ Also it's bad for your belly and teeth. In Sweden people are CRAZY about coffee, so annoying. -.-'

  • Could you suggest a online store where you can buy different types of japanese candies (in english). I really like japanese candies. Great videos btw, watch em' every time you upload! :D

  • priceless when you tried to pronounce it :P

  • I eat any and all times of the day and I'm thin! :D

  • how are the local meat markets?

  • Hahahha, Jordgubbssylt is awesome! I mainly use it for pancakes, but yea! And also, it's always fun to hear how people pronounce swedish words xD (I'm swedish ftw!)

  • the box was bottomless, you kept pulling stuff out :O

  • ikea Is swedish :D

  • You should be proud of your site, it looks fantastic. :)

  • It's big here in the US also.

  • love it!!!
