did u go to a agency located in West Palm Beach...I live in South Florida and would love to contact a Local agency...and not one in canada or new york!
@jadenstreats I left from West Palm Beach airport! I thought most of the agencies are located in Korea. I don't know any in the states. There isn't much in Florida related to Korea, you have to travel to Atlanta to get the visa!
Hi Stephen, I would also like to know any recruitment agencies you recommend. How do i email you? Sorry but couldn't figure out how! Oh, btw... thank you for your videos they have helped me tremendously! My email is susan.clare.dolphin@gmail.com. :)
can you tell me which recruiter you used? I am interested in doing this but I dont know who to trust. Please let me know the agency that finally got you through or the individual recruiter you had. I dont want a bad experience lol
gosh so many things too bad the I only have my GED no college I guess I'm stuck here in good old USA and this shit is going down. There is any other thing the I can do in Korea besides teaching? I like you video I'm subbing
@360esteban maybe you can teach in other asian countries like china, taiwan, thailand, etc. there is not much else you can do in korea besides teaching english.
@stephenworldwide wow that sucks I dont want to get kill in those other countries.I knew the it was no much else to do I mean they dont call the US the land of the opportunity for nothing, here even if you dont speak good English (or not English at all )you will have a chance of succeed some way.Consider yourself a lucky man you have the chance of doing something the a lot of people will like to do a nice adventure thanks a lot for answering my question
@360esteban you're welcome. you won't get killed in those countries (unless you do something crazy) i know a few people who taught in Thailand, and one friend is now in Shanghai Hong Kong, they love it.
I hear that there will be an interview process with the recruiters, can the recruiters turn down an applicant if they think that person is not suitable to teach ESL in South Korea?
@pha165 I never heard of that, usually a good recruiter asks the right questions and explains the scenarios so the aplicant can understant what's required of them as far as teaching. Most recruiters are here in Korea so they can't meet you in person.
Hi Stephen, I would get more pictures, too. There always seems to be things that come up over here that require passport size pictures. On resumes, focus it on teaching relevant experience, that might be working a boy scout camp, tutoring, Sunday School, anything remotely related to instruction. Google the school and/or city that it is based in, that will make an impression and show you're a proactive sort of person. Good heads up about the length of time that this process can now take. Cheers.
@72daystar: I did mention my six years on camp staff as a counselor and working in the boy scouts. I didn't have much else as far as teaching kids, but that impressed the school director.
@stephenworldwide Sure that would be relevant, anything about working with kids (if that's the sort of teaching gig you're applying for) or any kind of instruction. I worked in a museum as an exhibit interpreter and did some volunteer teaching. But the boss needed a teacher and liked my voice (and maybe my pic) in my first gig. That may be enough for an interview with a Korean manager/boss. Pickier schools may pay more attention to experience.
