  • I test drove this bike 3 days ago. It is everything that he said here. I was able to take on same light off road and gravel and did great. Opened up on HWY to 100mph no sweat and felt great at 75mph even with small windshield. Dealer told me that they have a bigger one also.

Cheers. Test drove the BMW GSA and it felt even better but much heavier.

  • R1200GS IS BETTER!!! (my opinion)

  • This bike is heavy and not suitable for off road

  • @mardar22 : how can you say so? By now I only found very positive tests here on youtube.

  • @leonardo080868 260kg is on wheels. How do you think will be fit for off-road?

  • @mardar22 hemmm...i wonder have u ridden this bike before?

  • @mardar22 Thats your opinion,,Maybe you cant ride as good as other's.

  • Another thing: Here the maintenance of a st 1200 is more often than a gs 1200, you have to do it at 1000km - 3000km - 6000km - 10000km, the gs is only 1000km -10000km, also they put more expensive the st than the gs, i think Yamaha of USA is more intelligent, Yamaha of Argentina stupids!!

  • @munaki33 : the official ST interval is 1.000km - 10.000km - 20.000km aso. Even my old TDM has only 8.000km. Do you have other intervals due to Argentinia's rough outback?

  • @leonardo080868 No, it´s because here in Argentina the guys of Yamaha dealerships think they are so intelligent, that they put more services for making more money, Dorks!!

  • And it seems as you say, that the st 1200 have those characteristics and i´m glad to hear it, so i will try to test it as soon as possible!! thank you!

  • Thank you for your reply Mrlogotobi! it´s very interesting what you say, i have a beamer f 800gs and i´m completely in love with her, but you always look up if there is something better. I live in Argentina and i use to travel long distances on road, and the 800gs there it´s not too comfortable, but what i like most is to do off road, and here the gs is very capable. So for me the perfect bike will be one that have the comfort of a 1200 gs and the offroad capabilities of the 800, and it seems -

  • So what do you think ? is the super tenere only for road use? the bike is beatiful but too heavy for off road, and you can´t switch off the abs? 19 front wheel?, i will like to hear your opinnions, good video!

  • @munaki33

Here is my opinnion. I testdrove the ST 1200 ans the BMW GS 1200. I must say the beamer is a great bike and i believe that the ST1200 was build pretty simular-but the beamer doesnt give you the feedback from the road as much as the yamaha, also it seems faster but the yamaha feels more like a motorcycle the beamer on the road is a bit to comfy for me if u understand!?!Off road-gravel road-wwhhhoooaaaa! the St 1200 is the better bike for me. It has the pure off road genes! Me?? Yamaha!

  • That you cant switch of ABS is a minor but only in certant situation 90% of your riding it wont madder!

The St 1200 also is a bit cheaper and i think cheaper in the long run to maintain-i own a beamer now and they are pretty smart getting alll those dollars out of your pocket over the years-yamahas just work! always!thats a fact! the mileage is better on the beamer-a little-the seat and sound?def. Yamaha!

Go Testride you will have a blast!!

  • Coolll Video i love Super Ténéné nice Raider ;-)

  • my next bike....

  • Thanks for the review, I appreciate your perspective.

  • WOW! NICE COLOR!
