I have written this message in hope that my dear friend Milly may read it. I have been trying to locate her, but sadly I’ve had no joy. I know she is a fan of Chris de Burgh so I live in hope that she reads this message and contacts me. Milly previously lived in Folkestone and worked for my mother. I let the best thing that ever happened to me slip through my fingers, even if too much has happened for a relationship to develop, I would also be happy to have her as a friend. Sam x
I used both "When Winter Comes" and "Say the Words I love You" for my husband's funeral in 2005." When WInter Comes" was so hauntingly beautiful, it was played at both the beginning and the end of the service. I played "Say the Words I Love You" for my three little boys as a message of what their Daddy would have said to them if he had had one last chance to speak to them before he left for Heaven. "Be Strong and learn to say the Words, "I Love You." Such amazing words.
Very beautiful song. I had tears in my eyes too. But at the end where that guy in the jeans hugs the blond girl. Fuck!! they couldn't find a shorter prick than that guy? The guy has to bend down his knees to hug this blond girl. The guy was so skiny he looked like an electrical walking skeleton.
so many memories, so much to be thankful for and yet so many words left unsaid, words tht will go into eternity.
If you have been blessed with love, tell it, be thankful for it, let them know it. Its worth the time whether it comes back to you or not. Blessings, rev.jon
i hope this gives love to all who has lost. to all who stand at a grave as i do and weep. i weep for my dad my husband my children. but we all now to close our eyes and thay will be with us pece and light be will all who has lost
The fact that it was written by a female does not mean that it can not be interpreted, beautifully in this case, by a male. To think otherwise is not just being a "bitch" for details, it is being ridiculous and not understanding that feelings are universal - man and woman! I personally think this is an amazingly beautiful poem and I think the is the most beautiful version of it I have found.
Thank you for this. I played the song "When Winter Comes" at my husband's funeral not too long ago. The poem, combined with the music had a profound impact. Again...thank you.
this just getts better each time I play it, and the delivery re-defines the word BEAUTY, Thanks to all concerned. Thanks.

Funny how at the first strains of this song, I do weep... many blessings to all who have loved and lost.

Beautifully done, my favourite poem accompanied by one Chris De Burgh's most hauntingly moving instrumental songs. A clever & thoughtful idea

this is lovely.
but the poem is called do not stand at my grave and weep.
its also by a woman, so i totally was not expecting a male to be reading it.
still lovely. i'm just a bitch for little details
