  • Just Got my 2011 Black Camaro V6 and I absolutely love this car. It's plenty fast enough with alot of torque plus it looks spectacular. Cudos to GM for really doing their homework on this car.

  • Even-length, long-tubes are definitely the way to go with a 60 degree v6. The mid-range torque and cruising efficiency really jumps up.

    Youll get a smoother, more exotic engine note as well.

  • @GamePyro Well dude, the RS package is 1500 more, and the 2SS is more than 7000 more than the 2LT. The only difference between the 2 cars is the engine. The 1SS has far less bells and whistles than the 2LT. Some people would rather have the Bells and Whistles than the engine power. Not everyone is getting the car to race.

  • I am from europe, but i thing the Slp performance parts are very good, most of my german friend which bought a new camaro choosed the slp CAI and excoust system.

    But for the V6 i honesly like the sound of the MRT exhoust system, even if it sound more like "rice care" than like american

  • Yea, I put on a Magnaflow axle back on my V6 and it sounds great!! I can feel the power gain without dyno. Each OEM muffler weighs about 28 pounds. CAI is on it's way by FedEx. I don't miss my '66 Goat anymore.............

  • @royboy136461 Horsepower and Torque is not the only thing that matters, you also have to factor in the weight, tires, gears ect. which explains why the new Mustang 5.0 beats the Camaro SS and Challenger SRT8 because although the 5.0 has less horsepower it weighs considerably less, therefore thats where it has its advantage.

  • Actually the V6 Camaro is as powerful as a 2004 Denali. In previous generations, the V6 versions of the Camaro weren't desired because they were weak for a muscle car. However, with the 2010, GM did very well in providing a powerful motor with high fuel economy for those who can't afford the costs of an SS. Some of the Mustangs are having problems keeping up with the V6 Camaro.

    If you can't afford the SS, the V6 is fine. Don't rag on the people who have them. Not everyone can afford the SS.

  • @mustangmikeca Before you go Mustang fanboi on everyone I would do some research. My comment was made 3 months ago, well before Ford gave the Mustang a new V6. However, since the new V6, Chevy has come out and said that they have underrated the Camaro V6 purposely, and apparently they are cranking out 312HP for 2011. The current Mustang V6 only beats the Camaro by 1 HP and 1 MPG. The only thing that helps the Mustang is weight. Also the K&N Dyno numbers you posted are not ratings at the wheel.

  • @silvercoke Even if the Camaro was 300LBS lighter to match the Mustang that's only about .3 seconds faster in the 0-60 which woul dbe 5.4sec. The Mustang does it in 5.1sec bitch

  • @mustangmikeca You have a lot to learn. As stated earlier, the 2011 engines aren't out yet, and by the time they are out, the other camps may have their 2011 revisions out as well. Still with the current Camaro v6 and the future Mustang V6 there is only a .5 difference at the most, that is nothing to brag about. That can be fixed with slight mods or driver skill. Ending with "bitch" in your comments makes you as credible as Rush Limbaugh. Try to sound more intelligent if you are going to debate.

  • @mustangmikeca The dyno obviously was rated at the engine, you have less power at the wheels. Also, the ball has been in Mustang's court for over a year now, and the Camaro, whether you like it or not, has outsold the Mustang for at least 10 months in a row now. This is Mustang's answer to the Camaro/Challenger, now the other camps will make their answer within a year. Then we will come back and tell you how you prematurely fired at everyone, and showed how young you really are.

  • @silvercoke thank you for saying that. I really do want the SS v8 but due to wallet complications and the fact that its my second car and just out of High school i am resigned to the V6 no big deal though still an awesome car that gives me the privilege of saying "yeah thats my Camaro"

  • @silvercoke The V6 is plenty fast. I have a 2LT myself. Not everyone can shell out the kind of cash for an SS or 2SS. The V6 is over 300 HP; that's nothing to raise your nose to, especially from a V6.

  • cause the SS costs an extra 8-11 thousand more bux. Plus the V8 will be killer on fuel economy. If you live in the city with a lot of traffic, gas starts to add up. If you live in a place where there are less people and less cars you can fully get the power of a v8, but in traffic all cars run at the same miles wether it is v6 to a v12 which is like around 6-20 mph.

  • Who the hell cares? You don't by a muscle car for fuel economy. You buy one for performance. And years down the road, the super sport version is going to be much more desireable than the V-6 version. That's worth the extra 11 grand investment in the long run.

    If you want fuel economy, get a Kia Rio, not a Camaro.

  • I think it may be rich because the engine is a high compression and doesn't run premium fuel. But with a tuner that will come out soon you should be able to adjust it and add premium. Awesome car. I love it.

  • No the V8 gets several MPG less than the V6. But it's more than worth it for the sound and torque the V6 will never have.

  • I think the baseline V6 is the real story with this new camaro. The 23k baseline car should start showing up next year. I bet some bonus HP from stuff like exhaust, air intake and programming changes, loose some of its nearly 4,000 lbs, and a set of cast off wheels from an SS from ebay and you could have a high 13's car for around 25k. Thats better than nearly 50,000 for the SS

  • Skydog92, not everyone can afford the v8, plus the fact of weight savings in the v6 camaro. Also aftermarket support is strong for 05 and up v6 mustangs, so the v6 camaro needs to get in the game and lay the smackdown on other v6 pony cars, nissan z cars, and genesis coupe 3.8.

  • I think you should go with flowmasters, magnaflow and v6s just dont mix in my opinion.

  • Not my opinion, LOL. . A good DOHC motor like this one should make some sweet music with magnaflows. Us Audi folk have been running magnaflow on our 30V motors for ever. Always sound goood.

  • The BA stereo is quite nice -- but historically I tend to tweak things quite a bit. I plan on swapping out the stock speakers and amp here soon. Basically, the 1LT gave me everything I needed to start with (not as stark as the LS) and enough room to play without feeling bad for removing decent (BA for example) stock bits.
