  • Looks like it's finally on the European Virtual Console. At last, it is here after over five years.

  • the demo gameplay of Prince of Persia that comes after the intro had once a weird glitch i had back in the old days, when i was very young. I dont know how or why, but when the into played, the speed was 3 times slower, and once the into was ended, the demo player acted alot different than before. He had a small delay on some places, and he skipped the potions, and when i battle, he waited until the enemy actualy hit him, and then he attacked, but only once. Never saw this glitch again. Odd.

  • they also removed the pentagram at level 20 in all other versions! Jafar is an occult bastard! Best persian music ever, best Prince of persia ever, better then before, better then the 'modern', anime'ish PoP games of today. This is the essence!!

  • i love this design and all the dangers faced by the Prince Of Persia!!!!!!

  • 1 dislike! Seems like Jaffar has a youtube account!

  • @RockOnHellas and also dark prince

  • So they censored a few guards poking the Prince with some sticks, while the game itself is full of guards you can easily push into pits of spikes? Lol.

  • This is 10x better than all other Prince Of Persia games combined

  • does anyone know if this game is available for X BOX 360, I HOPE it is, this is one my fav game ever, and zombies ate my neighbours same question for this last one

  • i ended that game and had 10 mins left rofl x3...just in time....best POP evah!!!

  • lol at 4:05 best sound ever ! gotta love the snes :P

  • I saw the torture in the original game because I played the japanese version. I don't remember how I get it, but I played that one, I mean, this one. Could someone please translate to me the history in the beggining?? I mean, I know the story but I want to know exactly what this version of the game says. Thanks!

  • my friend picked me up this copy and i saw the torture sequence and i was like wtf? they didnt show this on the eng version. and the demo level would've been sweet to play but the closest thing was level 19 ah well...

  • i just love this song, i used to watch this just for the intro

  • I love this game. One of the SNES Greatest Hits, i think.

  • I never seen that footage of the torture.

Wow!! I played this game a million times, and never seen that.

    Thanks for you tube.

  • Was censored on the english version.

  • WHAT THE FUCKING BASTARDS!!!!! stupid guards...!!!!!

  • i just downloaded this version (SNES) as a rom...but it in an emulator and back is the fun ;D

    really, a great game!!!

  • I loved this game... It is a shame that the torture sequence was censored, and even more a shame that the gorgeous, challenging level shown in this demo is not playable in the game. The environment for this level, with the blood red floor and pillars (which look like eyes) is only available in Level 19, the second last and by far the longest and hardest stage (you must kill all the bosses you have previously slain in a row to complete it). It is bull if the 2-hour timer has already ended by then

  • SaviourV, NCS Corporation/Masaya went out of business in 2001. Their very last game,"Langrisser Millenium WS: The Last Century" was released for the Bandai Wonderswan in 2000.

  • The NCS Corp. & Masaya library are now owned by Extreme Corp., who license out the NCS/Masaya catalogue to other companies for release on other systems, such as the Virtual Console on Wii.

Some of their titles - Motoroader, Double Dungeons, Cybernator, Gley Lancer, Cho Aniki, Shockman - are available on Virtual Console in Europe, Australia and North America :o)

  • Interesting! Thanks for the Info! It is really too bad that they couldn't continue the Assault Suits series. That was one of my favorite game franchises that NCS Corp. & Masaya has ever produced! Much better than Cho Aniki!

  • They should have kept that scene in there for the US and european versions. Everytime I see that it pisses me off and makes me want to kill those guards even more. I wonder if there are any other differences.

  • memories!

  • the princess is looking at the hourglass thinking... not this shit again...

  • Wasn't prince of persia made by a american chappie? So why is the Japanese version "uncensored"?

  • the original was of course. but the SNES version was made by a japanese game company.

  • The SNES version of Prince of Persia was redeveloped by Arsys Software, a Japanese development country, under license from Broderbund and Jordan Mechner.

The torture scene was never seen in any other version of Prince of Persia but the Japanese SNES version. It was most likely edited out due to Nintendo of America's (then) rather strict censorship rules.

  • GOD-DAMNIT. Why does listening to the intro music after a month STILL take my breath away?

NCS really captured the essence of Prince Of Persia. I wish I knew what happened to them.

  • God, that must've set the stage for the Prince Of Persia we see on our next-gen consoles these days. They really should have this reproduced somehow.

  • This version seems to be much harder than PC(MsDos)version

  • This game is the hardest I have ever encountered. You have 120 minutes to get through 20 vigorous levels. The farthest I've gotten is probably level 10.

  • hey guys where i can find the game? please answer

  • the first i played this game ....mmmm 1996??yes ....great game!!!

  • 1.08-1.25 were cut from the original because of the violence.I like the silence in this, I set my game so there's no music so I can get this kind of feel.

  • Like Assault Suit Valken (Cybernator), the logo of NCS Masaya was never shown in their games that Konami published in the US.

  • Or indeed the Palcom one used in Europe.

  • the japanese intro is more rude!

some scenes are censored in the american version!

  • i passed all the game in 45 minutes is really easy

i like that prince of persia its better than computer, wii, xbox, xbox 360 and ps3 ... Cause it's the original and the best one

  • at 1:09 that was the only additional scene for a japanese version

  • It doesn't get any better than the snes version. End of story.

  • IVe been searching for this version for 8 years... EIGHT (8) YEARS!!!! I searched at every funco-land (before gamestop), toys r us, anywhere they had SNES games. One day, after 8 years of searching, it was there. In the shelves at Funco Land. As my eyes watered I started to tear with joy. All the memories I had playing this game at my uncles house. In summers nights, I had the best time of my life playing this game.

  • man...it's so interesting what you sayed..and i played this game..with my father...i finished this game 2 times...and now i wish to play'it again..(i was affraid of the music of level 11....haha lol..XD)....good luck

  • @SpiffyLB You're a happy man then! ;) Not all of us can find what we've lost....

  • DAMN RIGHT, This is hands down the BEST version of the original POP ever!! I still play this on my SNES occasionally. I even STILL prefer this over the original remake for XBOX live.

  • I love Prince of Persia..XD!!!..i finished the game 5 times..XD

  • Jesus christ to the triple Slicer trap!!! :O that looks so much harder then the origonal version...

    wow

  • The gameplay in this video is a demo, it was apparently done by someone who really knows how to play!

  • Very smooth movement and looks alot like Blackthorne ;)
