Very interesting interview. It makes a change to hear two people speaking in the media about drugs who actually know what they are talking about and have no hidden agenda. 'Make anything more dangerous than alcohol illegal....' A very good way to look at it, but there wouldn't actually be many illegal drugs in that case. People could be educated to the real facts and not hype. Keep up the fight people. Big respect to Mr Marks and Mr Nutt.
Who ever heard of a coffee shop in Amsterdam getting trashed after someone had a little too much to smoke? No, exactly! now is the time for the government wankers to get their fucking head out of their arses and legalize this amazing medicine. I hand over around a hundred pounds a week for a paltry bit of herb mostly for pain relief, just to fill the pockets of some dealer. 100 pounds times the 7.5 million known cannabis users and if we exported abroad that would be quadruple, recession OVER!
Unjust Laws Deserve to Be Broken! ...countries can't throw their entire populations into prisons, if they tried there'd be civil war, and wheter or not your inclined to think so the truth is that Diplomacy has Failed and to Regain Individual Liberty and Freedom of Will the only recourse is War in just about every country... and as far as i'm aware the only people with the balls to start the fighting outright, are the very people who are not in any position to do so. 'tis a fucking dilemma
My research disclosed that, when the Act came in, 71 there were 1780 notified heroin addicts in the UK. He speaks of 500.000 users today. Not the same thing but still...I suspect you can divide it by 10 to get the figure.
Heroin is dangerous because A its illegal, B poor knowledge of how to use C incorrect administration. Pure clean heroin smoked and used mindfully so no tolerance builds up etc is fine.
The fact that David Nutt was sacked for telling the truth about drugs says everything about the terrible state of this country these days, just legalize them already and stop making criminals out of ordinary people for the choices they make.
actually i've just thought, as they are running biological weapon tests on us, maybe that's why they don't want drug use... Because it will ruin the data! They won't know if its the recreational drugs doing us harm or the shit they're pumping us full of! It's about time we started asking questions!
The best bit is, the government see fit to FORCE you to take substances you probably wouldn't want to take, if you knew what is was, but then tells you what you can't take! Lol... For instance flouride and all the other contaminants found it the toxic waste from the fertilizer industry... As well as the chemtrails! Search uk government admits biological weapons tests, or something like that! Yeah that.s right, they are experimenting on us!
haha look him up - he was the worlds number one cannabis smuggler during the late 1970's and 1980's, also an Oxford graduate. He comes from the same small Welsh village as me, kind of a local folk hero.
Terence Mckenna gave an amazing interview in Mexico in 1996, basically saying the same thing. Education and research is needed not bad laws which ruin lives. Our language regarding drugs is the biggest blackhole, it would be a start if we start using the word "Substance" instead of "Drugs"
A nice start would be to tax the users, educate the public.
Does this make sense they allow you to buy highly dangerous flammable petrol from any forecourt , i don't see everyone wanting to set fire to it?.
@tonytg909 It is right what Terence said they should put money into researching drugs and educating people who want to use them and allowing them to take them. How many people kill others when driving? But we don't ban all cars though!
If this video had as many views as Justin Bieber's song the world wouldn't have "the drug problem", kind of sad really. But Prof. David Nutt is such an inspirational person and it is always so nice to hear him speak
He is a rational inspiration. I was lucky enough to go to a lecture of his once and he just set it all out then and there how ridiculous the government, media and their ignorant followers are (full stop?) in relation to drugs.
is it just me that had to keep adjusting my volume whenever howard said something

The government don’t give a hoot about public health unless it ends up costing them too much – alcohol gets rid of plenty of folk as does tobacco.
