Hey people i have the same camcorder which is the Legria HF200 (called Vixia in the usa) My first test footage was shot in 24mbps and i got artifacts just the same as in this video or others. To fix this i record my video at a lower bitrate which is the 17mbps rate and my video is still at 1920 x 1080 resolution but i dont get any sound or video artifacts. Youtube really needs to tweak their avchd video decoding process. Also for transferring video files from cam to pc use the rear usb ports.

Your computer isn't meant to play mts or m2t files. None of the programs are strong enough. What you do is upload it to YouTube or another online video player. There, it will be decoded and played smoothly.
I also film with this camera and use Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 and it works brilliantly.
the thing is, when using premeire, if audio codecs don't match, this happens... I would either use Final Cut Pro if u have a mac or Vegas Movie Studio if you have windows....
How is the HF200? I'm thinking about getting it for christmas... actually, im gonna get the HF20 (which includes a 32GB hard drive) for $699 at Walmart... is that a good buy?? Have you found this camera to be bad in low light shots because of its small CMOS sensor?
loved it..is there any cons to this camera? im only a noob when it comes to cameras. The only one i ever used was some old tape video camera, and it never got a good picture outside cuz of the lighting.
It can have some trouble in low-lighting situations, but it can apparently be remedied by tweaking the framerate. Other than that, no, it's a fantastic camera.
does anyone know if you can open these files in sony vegas pro 9.0?

Download k-lite full pack and no problem to view mts video in your computer.The camcorder is superb.

@zlaczak try VLC it's free. You might have to re-encode the file.
