BTW this method (with the reset button) is a lot easier and gives a little more leeway than the other method (without the reset button)

hey I got Daytona USA to boot with the swap trick, but there's no sound and it freezes after you pick either Arcade Mode or Saturn Mode... any ideas?

So should I get the model 1 or model 2.I dont know which one is better.Can you do this with the model 1? Also is it just as simple as the Dreamcast method.Just burn the ISO image on to a CD-R?

Well, honestly I'm not quite sure what to tell you. If I remember correctly I heard that the model 1s are easier to do swap tricks on, BUT are much harder to install a modchip if you'd rather play burned games that way. Also, yes you can just burn images like you would a dreamcast game, BUT you will need either a modchip or have to perform a swap trick to get them to boot, you can't just throw them in the Saturn and hit Power and then play.

Ok thanks, If thats the case this video helped alot.But since I have knowledge of the Model 2 swap trick I might get that one then.Also does it work with Japanese games? There are some space ship shooters That wren't release here in the U.S.

Unfortunately, using the swap trick does not bypass region codes, so you'll have to do either one of two things. Either buy a cartridge device which will bypass the codes, (Action replay, or an St-Key) or, if they're burned games, find the Saturn Region converter, and convert your image files, into the NTSC-U region.

There is one thing though, and this just might be my preference, I have an Action Replay plus, and have never done a swap trick with the original action replay. But I will say, that is it harder to swap trick with my action replay plus than just the console by itself. The time frame where you can correctly do the swap, is much smaller, so I find it more difficult. But I'm sure after some practice I'd get it every time, just a preference I guess. @kb96215 I may be able to do that at some point, I am currently without a decent camera to use at the moment, so if I did it would be easily a month from now before I got such a video up for you.

What I can tell you is that the window of success with the Action Replay Plus is very very small lol. Keep trying, and I'll be sure to make that video when I get my new camera in about a month or so.

Honestly, I don't know about that. And here is why, one I have yet to burn a multi part disc set. I've burnt a few disc 1s, but I've never got around to getting to part 2.

Second reason, it would depend on your boot method, if you used a mod chip I'm positive it would work, but if you use a swap trick with a taped down eject sensor, I'm not sure if all games will work. Unless it's the type of game that says insert the disc then press a button, if if it's just a swap, I'm not sure it would work.

yeah I kind of assumed that it wouldn't work using the swap method, but I think I'm going to try and see if it works. I have Corpse Killer and from what I remember it doesn't say press a button when you need to switch to disc 2 but I'm going to try it whenever I get the chance and see what happens. What kind of CD do I need for a backup, and what software should I use to burn it?

Honestly, it's going to depend on the file type. If it's a .ccd/.img game, you're going to need to use CloneCD, but personally for games that use .bin/.cue file types, I use Fireburner. As far as what CD, use CD-R. Personally I recommend Maxell's. 80 minute, with 700mb. Although I did just find these other great discs for burning games. Magnavox CD-Rs. You can buy a 50 pack of either Maxells or Magnavox for anywhere between 10-30 dollars. A 50 pack of discs, makes 40 cent games ;)

Yeah, I now know not to use colored CD-Rs. The closet I've ever gotten to playing NiGHTS, was a Grey screen after the SEGA logo with an annoying high pitched beep.

This in fact will NOT work with import games, unless they are backed up games that have had the region changed on them.

If you have a legitimate game to play, I recommend buying an ST-Key, which is a cartridge that bypasses region codes.

Although, in my case, i have an Action replay 4-1 plus. This is a cheat device, a back up memory card, a 1mb ram cart, a 4mb ram cart, AND, it also can play import games.

I got mine for about $20. I'm sure you can find them online pretty easily, and same with ST

Yes, you can, that's primarily why you'd want to do this trick. This does not bypass region codes.

May have been an issue with the burn, if you're using back ups that is, just fiddle around with the settings until you find what works for you. I just took tutorials online and just changed a few things from there if things weren't working with just the tutorials.

It was one of the earlier killer Apps for the system, so many users adopted it early. It may have also come prepackaged with some systems, but I honestly don't know.

Yeah, I was going to show how to do a PSOne disc swap, but my girlfriend currently has mine, in trade for her PSX which has a modchip. She doesn't play backed up games, so it was unreasonable for her to use her PSX and for me to have to disc swap on my PSOne.

When I switch back with her, I'll post a video on how to do that as well.

As far as a PS2, I won't be doing any of those. Slim or Phat.
