I was playing with one of these on a train in Taiwan, and this little kid next to me whips one out and solves it in like ten seconds about 50 times in a row. Little bastard.

Learn intuitive Fridrich F2L (first two layers), then 2-look OLL. Beginner method stuff isn't that much slower for PLL.

Those three steps are basically all you need. F2L will speed you up a lot though, doing the first two layers separately is slow.

i bought a rubix cube when i was 12, 9 years ago, it has remained unsolved since.
