It's such an effective strategy to feed what we want in our kids instead of harping on the frustrating things they do. Something we've found fun is to have jars for each child, which get filled with one art pom-pom for every time they go above and beyond in any of the virtues we want in our family. When they have a full jar, they get to be princess for the day. They love it :).
A word of caution to religious fanatics who have children (I'm not aiming this comment at anyone):
Using the Bible as the sole authority of instruction on the subject of raising children is a disaster. You'll create rebellious children. They will worship Satan (even though there is no such boogie-man) out of rebellion because you met their needs with the cold, abusive, draconian words of the Bible. There are behavioral sciences that study child-rearing. They should be consulted and used.
This is a excellent video , As a father I know my wife is like the kids lawyer always fighting there battles when there in trouble and always firguring out the way for them to avoid correction. So I am the bad guy but with all that said Id like to find more positive ways of getting them to understand the desired behavior .. Thanks from a dad
