so sorry for your loss my dad just died he was in the korea war and god bless your dad we serving this country we we all miss him and did he get burned no trying to be me
i remeber when i was 5 years old my dads grandpa died. i didnt even have the chance to meet him. the whole day i didnt know what death was. i asked so many questions. When we got to the cemetary he had full military honors from world war 2. i didnt even know him and i was balling my eyes out. ever since then i had an interest in the military. I am only 13 but i have an appointment with a recruiter soon to see what i can do to get in shape for the Navy Seals. In my great grandpas honor i love you
@BdogXXL I know what your feeling. In May I went through the same thing, my grandfather was a Full Bird Colonel. I have his dog tags, and I got a shell as well. But I actually played Taps, not a military personel. It was hard being sad, and trying to play it perfect in honor of my family.
Sorry, It's good that you get the spent rounds, i did not get to the end of the Presentation, when the person said he's the rounds shot today. may you DAD RIP.
Filmed or not, Congratulations to your father. He is a fine man, and I am endebted in Gratitude to his service, as am I to my Father and those before him. God Bless America.
I know how this went. .. . I went trough this with my father in 2003. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope all is going better for you and your family. .. Stay strong. He is watching and miss you all dear. He would be proud of you all.
Wow I would be so proud if that was my dad. I'm so sorry you lost him, my dad passed of lung cancer, and missing him never goes away. He was a great man but your dad is a hero. Thank you for posting this video
your dad worked hard to make the world a better place to live in, congratulations to him, to you, and your family. i am joining the british army soon, and hope to follow gallantly in those footsteps which he has left behind. my deepest condolences, and my utmost respect.
I watched this video, so I know what to expect, I am burying my only brother at Jefferson Barracks Friday January 14th, 2011. It will be hard to do by far. But it will be a true honor.... Thank you for sharing your video...
Fighting on behalf of the United States Of America is a euphoric feeling that you can only know of if your enlisted in the US Military to be honest putting this on the internet is a great idea. For some reason many Americans have almost forgotten about the war nor do some think it's brutal enough to even care about which to me is immoral and rude. For me i am in the Air Force but i still salute all branches of the United States Military and to you husband Sr. Tim Sweeny of the U.S. Marine Corps.
your father made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. for that i respect him. some day i hope to do the same as he did. It is an honor protecting his or her country but a greater honor dieing for what you love.
Why do you put this video on the internet. I think situations like this are to personel to put it in the internet. But, anyway, thank you for shareing.
Living foreighn my dad couldnt have all that complete ceremony, the Vets here in Panama do something special for the fallen here every time one of them falls...
When seeing this, i feel awfully ashame that my country(Swden) does not honor the sacrifice made by your father and his kin to protect our freedom, the freedom of want, freedom from fear and freedom of peace. May God bless you and may his soul find Peace and Joy in the eternal Heavens by the love of the almighty Lord.
I respect those who are willing to give up their lives in the war against terrorism.they seek neighter medals nor praise to be counted ammong their brothers in arms are their greatest honour. thanx for all those arround the world who gave their lives for our freedom and safety. Respect from South-Africa
im srry i dont mean to be a jack*** here but that was not a 21 gun salute.. it was 7 men or women firing 3 volleys.. and 21 gun salute is only reserved only for the President..
God bless your father and family for having such a wonderful man who knows he died for a good purpose fighting or not, he helped our country by serving, and thats good enough for me, you, everybody. And, godbless John Patterson Jr. who was a veteran, he was fighting, not in war, but fighting cancer. He was great and I'm sure so was your father and all of the great men of America in the Army, Air Force, etc
The military funeral and the renering of honors is very powerful. I have arrnaged in my will for my ex-wife to get my flag. When I told her about it, she broke down and cried.
Three rifle volleys may be fired at military funerals, and if you have seven shooters this does equal 21 shots. But this is NOT a "21-gun salute." In the military, a "gun" is a cannon, not a rifle. And any number of riflemen may be used as an honor guard at a funeral service, subject to availability. They will fire three volleys and the total number of shots will be dictated by the number of riflemen. An actual 21-gun salute is reserved for the president.
God Bless Your Dad For His Honor To Our Country. God Bless All Of Our Troops Fighting Over Sea For Us. God Bless All The Men And Women Who Die At Fort Hood, Texas. When I Get Out Of School Next Year I Am Going Into The Army To Help Our Great Country!
It's not called a 21 gun salute. It's called a firing party or three volleys. They forgot to unfold and refold (by regulations) the flag and they failed to say the correct verse when the Flag was presented.
RESPECT!

The woman is wrong about the symbolism of the flag. Blue is for freedom, red is for courage, and white is for purity.
