The thing they have in common is they where consistant, and ONE year that paid off for them both. Granted, Rossi is " a True champion" who has demonstrated his ability to adapt to technology. But remember both KRJR and Nicky Hayden have beaten Rossi in a championship! Sete Gibernau (think of how hard he pushed Rossi) never won a "premier class" championship, and now look at him (or not)

Actually, he is an incredible rider...the new rules dictating little 800cc engines has put Nicky....the size of a real man...at a severe disadvantage as has the traction control...the bike has more to say than the rider does. Eliminate the traction control, and put these guys back on 990cc bikes, and Nicky wins championships again.

Put a bad rider on a good bike and they'll still come last.

Simple fact is Hayden has been lacking recently, even when he was on the Honda, he was still only doing average times and average finishing positions. Blaming engine sizes achieves nothing. Rossi has won a championship on like, every size machine. Hayden hasn't done that, simply said, Hayden is not as good, nor is he comparable to Rossi, and hasn't been for several seasons.

Since going to a smaller engine, larger riders (Nicky is the biggest rider in the GP paddock) are at a severe disadvantage...one of the main reasons Kenny Roberts jr. quit....full size people simply can't compete on the smaller bikes, no matter the skill level.

I'm not that big of a fan of Rossi, but he's a good example of a brilliant rider, he's been around since 1996, and has won and proven himself in every category, and condition. he's a versatile rider, which is what you need. it's a shame Hayden hasn't come to grips with these 800s :(

It was FREEZING COLD this year, my bro has been going since GP started there, he told me it's always super hot, this was my first year out and about froze my butt off! Even tho, it was still a blast. I am going next year now.

If you get a chance go to Indy, you won't be disapointed, pay a little extra and get a paddock pass, I met almost everyone.
