@phidelt733 Normally I wouldn't let myself get dragged into such a picayune argument such as this, but I heard what a professional video producer had to say about this video. He liked it very much in every way, but had one minor bone to pick with the video. It sure wasn't your issue about depth of field. If you're as good as you say, I'm sure you'll be able to tell us what it is.

#1. Unless you want this to look like a Video than no depth of field is needed

#2. This was shot on a 5D, so I can just tell. I seen 5D footage and it can be done way better.

#3. Every video is Art Work but don't justify what the DP or Director did as aesthetically pleasing. Only rookies have excuses for their mistakes and then they turn it around and say "it's a new approach and I want to make it look different". I heard it all before.

#4. Only thing good is the Production Value

If you are a so called professional, you need to take criticism even if it's good or bad. Production Design is probably the only thing good about this video.

Depth of Field is something that is basic and the first thing you should learn. If you are shooting an Artist singing, it should have a narrow depth of field, otherwise the background that is in focus will distract away from him. There is no depth of field in this video. You eyes get distracted by what's going on in the background and the Artist doesn't pop out to the audience. If you can't take criticism, then why are you even doing Music Videos or in the Business.

@phidelt733 yes... because you are such an amazing expert videographer have stunning videos... wow. im sure the people who directed this knows what depth of field is because what is it that i see around 2:41? Change in focus and depth of field. So there IS a depth of field in this video.

Not all music videos have to follow the typical frontman focus rubbish.. Only non-creative people do that.

I think this video is rather aesthetically pleasing and should be appreciated as a piece of art work.
