The Canadiens of that era were the best team ever. I am a lifelong Bruins fan, but that was the best team to ever skate in the NHL. It's a tribute to the Bruins that they pushed the Canadiens to 6 and 7 the following year. Ratelle, Park, Cheevers, O'Reilly, Sheppard... what a team. But Dryden, Robinson, Lapointe, Savard, Lemaire, Shutt, Gainey and Lafleur were unstoppable.

Dan Kelly was so great! And I love this Bruins team. The Lunch Pail AC Gang! 11 Players with 20 or more goals! Wow. But Drydens Canadfiens were just a hair greater.

@russelljdj A hair? These Canadiens, and those of the entire 1970's were amongst the most dominant sports teams of any sport at any time. The Bruins were great, the Habs were in a league of their own.

@russelljdj a hair greater? trust me, don't flatter yourself, the Habs had three amazing defensemen, a superior goaltender, a first line that was arguably the best in history and secondary scoring from every other line. Don't forget Bob Gainey, one of the; if not the best two-way forward of that era.
