    and thanks! :)

  • @pyhtio

    GREAT! HAHAHAHAHA

  • @ProductionsSkyline Feelin the music man..feelin the music.

  • Great quality sound. Just wondering, Looks likes there still playing with the amps. Direct in to the presonus? Wasn't there any leaks into the drum mics and make it difficult to eq and mix?

  • @dadio2002 Pete replies: Thanks for the compliments! No direct signals, both amps mic'd. Of course there are leaks, as usual, but you'll just have to deal with them the best way you can. Most of the time you can reduce the leaks or fit them in the mix. Can't remember if there was any difficulties with this one. One of the most important things in a recording situation like this is that the band's overall volume must be in balance, so that the leaks would be evenly balanced as well.

  • @dadio2002 ..continued: Also it goes without saying that you should avoid directing the amps straight towards the drum overheads.

  • I have a piece recorded on a firepod, search

"Deep Blue dJinn in the Studio, Jan 2011"

  • Oh man, that bass drum sounds so sexy... Is that a 24 x 16? And what heads do you have on it?

  • @BrainDamage769 Yes, 24x16. Heads are Remo Powerstroke3 and Ambassador. Also Falam slam patch on batter head and (I think) wood beaters. Could have been felt beaters thou, can't remember what I was using at that time. And a small pillow inside.

  • Guys, seriously if you guys made a record. I would buy it with my own money.

  • Awesome! More!

  • thats some great improvising...ive heard that some of the best stuff comes from just playin on impulse, and just having fun...thats what we do as well.. great job to all 3 of you.

  • @pyhtio it's amazing man!... amazing! i will do a band to do something like this... when i have some video or audio i will let you know!

  • @666MetalFuck Thanks! Yes, jamming = fun, recording = fun, recording your jams can sometimes be a bit depressing but it's also a good teacher!

  • Awesomesauce!

  • were u using a ring modulator and a pitch shifter at the same time? just trying to verify what i THINK i'm hearing. thanks...

  • @FlankinspanK Pete replied: Not at the same time, no. That ain't even possible in my oldie-goldie Boss GT-3... :)

  • Equipment that has the bass player?

  • @SOLRACZAID17 Our bass player is had by Custom bass w/Bartolini pickups & EMG active eq, EBS MultiComp, DigiTech Bad Monkey, Jacques Bat Fuzz, Ibanez WH-10, Hughes&Kettner QC421 amp

    Stone Kings

  • @TwilightGreen We're a bit too far away unfortunately. I think we need to play a few more gigs in Finland / Europe before coming to USA. :)

  • very good vibes!!! love it

  • @KaiiSt1 It's just like you worked out: 1 channel for guitar, 1 channel for bass and 6 for drums (bass, snare, 2x overhead and 2x tom). Thanks!

  • I think a lot has to be said for the way he's playing. Sure the drums have been tuned and recorded well and most probably EQ'd, compressed and balanced but he's also playing the things fecking tight with a real good overall dynamic. That after all is one of the most important contributions to a good sound. Awesome playing, reminds me of Stewart Copeland.

  • this is sick

  • ah man! loved it!!! we have a akg d112 kick mic at scool! use it all the time! take care guys

  • How do you get such a fat sound from your drums? Compressions in Logic?

  • I think the most important factors are low tuning, Remo coated Emperors (on toms), no dampening (or minimal dampening on bass drum) and close-miking. Don't know much about post-processing, but I think a little extra comes from there too. :) (guitar player did the mix)

  • Probably just a compressor on the kick/snare with some EQ.

  • I would agree

  • Love it too. Gretsch catalina rock?

  • The drums are Tama Granstar from early 90's. The Granstar line was replaced by Starclassic Performer later on. Thanks!

  • love it.

  • i see some sync problems with audio.....how did you manage to put the audio on the video. did you rec 30 fps ?

  • Yes, the video is 30 fps but it stays in sync on all computers I've tried? I used iMovie HD (not really the greatest video software out there..)

  • man!!!! do a tutorial for that recording quality... awesom play!!

  • Thanks! The sound was mixed by the guitar player, I really don't know a lot about mixing. But if you want good sounding videos, you should start by getting a few decent microphones and an audio interface. With those you just record the audio separately and you can combine it with the video in a free program called VirtualDub for example. This video was done with iMovie thou, which comes free with almost every mac. I've used VirtualDub in many of my older vids.

  • Olen nyt kattonu tän ja pt.2 ihan varmaan 3 kertaa putkeen on niin saakelin hyvän kuulosta ! (Y)

Ei muuta kun jatkakaa smaan malliin,

    olen itsekkin rumpali :))

  • Hi, great sound!

What microphones did you use for the guitar amp?

    thanks

  • Hi, I gotta ask the guitar player if he remembers, but I think it was Sennheiser e604 or Shure SM57.

  • When recording, do you make all the EQ's and such in Logic? Is it bout the same with a tascam US-1641 and Cubase?

  • When recording, it was all saved on 8 separate tracks on the computer. All mixing, EQ:ing etc was done afterwards. You can do the same with US-1641 and Cubase.

  • Kiitos kiitos :)

  • Eipä kestä! :P

  • Listening to this on Shrooms is so fucking magical. :)

  • Your Snare Drum Sounds "Kickin'"

  • you guys are true jammers. I am too and I want to say this is BADASS.

  • HD = Awesome.

Great sound quality and a great jam in general :)

  • Oh shit...I can feel the essence in this shit man. give me some feedback pyhtio. from one fellow tripper to the next. shroomin right now :)

  • truly legendary,my french friend,5 stars for me a treat just to watch great show keep them coming when you've got a day of and nothing planed very talented, peace.

  • This is really great! I love how fluidly you guys connect your parts together, especially since this is a jam. Bravo!

  • unreal! extremely awesome. sounds great.

how would you rate firepod's performance in logic? have you tried using it on 10.5 leopard?

  • Thanks! The audio for this clip was actually recorded with Logic running on Leopard 10.5 :) We have done some recording with this configuration and we've had no problems!

  • Still using the same 3 mics for your drums on this?

  • There's also a SM57 on snare and I think the toms are miced with Beyerdynamic Opus 87's. Pete mixed the audio so there's some EQ / compressor etc. post-processing.

  • Seems like the guitarist was slightly outta ideas about three and a half minutes into it lol.

Happens to my guitarist DAILY lolol

  • great freaking acid rock!!!!!!!! loved it

  • Thanks for the comments! Part 2 will be up soon :)

  • jätkät osaa soittaa helvetin hyvi ! 5/5

  • Looks like you on guitar too :)

  • awesome!

    increibleee hermano!

  • awesome! what software did u use to edit the video? i have the same camera haha, cheers mate

  • The video and audio were edited together with iMovie HD. My PC had a hard time figuring out the video format produced by 500D, lucky there's a macbook at my work.

  • haha thanks for the info

  • this is so cool
