The creator of the new Karr was Charles Graimen, he is no relation to Devon. He was just passed off as the original creator of Kitt without any explination. The series connected with the original on some levels but missed out some big opportunitys to tie it in properly.

Sadly no they didn't. the origional voice for K.A.R.R was Paul Frees. For Knight Rider 2008 it is Peter Cullen, the voice actor for Optimus Prime.

Iˇd like him to tell the story about KARR, cause he made him ... could be nice if it was something like he was working for Wilton Knight and he created KARR´s AI and when they put him out for a while he was pretty upset, so he started to develop new technology for next-gen KARR "body" which is his new "body" and he wanted to place old KARR AI to it and boom there goes his chance in KITT vs KARR battle

and when he realized what is KARR´s nature, he put him away like old man Knight did, but this time KARR self-programmed himself to ignore shutdown commands so Charles is only able to lock him and that ain´t stopping KARR from getting out and then ... well then goes what writers are payed for :D .... Yeah I watched it, I dont think "Gus" the pilot did it, he appeared to be a good guy, I think the plane exploded because of first sustaining damage hitting the overpass and they flew the plane way higher than its operational ceiling with structural damage, they stated that in could only go up to 30000+ but they had to take it up to +50000 to detonate that bomb safely. That said no one saw the plane blow up, Charles could still be alive, he might have jumped.

Fans of the old show need to quit bitching about the new one, I mean it's a sequel to the original series, KARR is coming back and it's implied that the original KITT is still out there. It could have been far worse, look at the new Star Trek film for an example of a horrendous reboot.

Wasn't the original KITT dismantled? Did you ever see the movie Knight Rider 2000? They dismantled KI2T's body without Devon's authorization and "recycled" the original body (which was seen in Dr. Graiman's house). When Michael came back to FLAG 10 years later, they put KI2T into a box that he set up in his 57 Chevy, then his Chevy ended up at the bottom of the Ocean, KI2T got water damaged but FLAG techs recovered him and Michael put Ki2T into the Knight Industries Four Thousand (KIFT) body...

remember theres a huge time gap (not sure how big) in the old and new series...Someone other than Devon himself (Dr Graiman! XD), recovered KITTs original blueprints (and some of the other good stuff). Being a genious it wasn't hard for him to adapt on KI2Ts original form.

Knight Rider 2000 is an AU because it took place after I think 10 years after the original show ended. Knight Rider 08 is kinda considered the next generation because the Foundation went under and Dr. Graiman had the original KITT in the garage of his house for the 08 movie in pieces. Remember where the mercs refered to KITT as an urban myth when tracking the Knight 3000 down.

Very true, that said as far as the new series goes, Knight Rider 2000 never happened. I must say thats probably a good thing, it was'nt the greatest movie made and Kift/Kitt should have never been red, one thing I will say in its defense before this message turns out completely negative, it did have William Daniels voicing Kitt and Devon Miles (the late Edward Mulhare) in it.

Why mess about with a classic show and change the one thing every one knew and loved. I mean did they replace the general lee in the new Dukes of Hazzard film or did they replace the Classic Ford Gran Torino in the latest Starsky and Hutch film. This series is meant to be a continuation of the original so really a 3rd gen Trans Am would not be appropriate today, lots of fans would like to see it but It just would'nt work today. The Mustang was chosen because its a current car and Pontiac just does'nt have a new TA, other models were considered but Ford came up with the best deal for NBC. A 3rd gen TA would work today if it was in some kind of KR parody movie, but no one wants KR to be made into a silly movie.

yeah I think so too, usually MasterKey Films (the VFX team) spend a week doing the effects for the Knight Rider Episode, thats in no way negative because they are very a efficient and talented crew, Over a month was spent on making Karr look kick ass and from what Ive seen myself, Karr will be just that.
