  • my brother dropped a 302 in a 93 240 with aod trans. all it had was headers and it was runnin 11s in the 1/4 mile.

  • @john19812003 they are oem manifolds !! one is reverse side. go to my video "240sx v8 ford 302 to 5.0" to see some custom cheap made headers.

  • i have a 240 and am actually doing this right now. I have the mounts and oil pan fabricated already. What kind of problem did you have with the rear end? am thinking it will break. Mine is going to be turbo with a 302. Also, are you using solid motor mounts? I am using an AODE trans with E40D guts-electronics. because AODE has auto locking stall. Great car. Thanks for any help.

  • im running stock rear end, i dont think u will have problems but maybe u can switch to a q45 rear end. i dont using solid motor mounts. engine mounts are stock... see my newer video, i switch from 302 to a 5.0 and have info on oilpan and engine mounts. !!!

  • You should go with a c4 trani. It doesnt have an over drive tho. just 3 gears, use an 8.8 ford rear end. they are cheap to buy and cheap to build up

  • 8.8 wont work as well as a cut 9. I know a C4 is a 3 speed auto .. I was looking to an aod or aode for the lower first gear.

  • Como cuanto tiempo te tomo en acabar el proyecto? yo tambien le quiero meter un 302 a un 240sx. que es lo mas dificil del swap?

  • pues se llevo aprox unos 3 añitos desde que lo meti la primera vez.. como esto era nuevo, fui modificando cosas y asi hasta un punto que quedo muy bien. si compras un motor asegurate que sea uno del tipo roller, puedes conseguir las bases de una ford explorer con 5.0 y tendras mucho espacio para radiador y abanicos y sobre todo que los soportes que trae el motor de explorer sientan perfecto sin modificar nada...

  • lo unico que requieres ademas seria un carter modificado, una flecha hecha a la medida y modificar el soporte metalico que sujeta la transmision y listo. ya sta todo. si necesitas un carter yo tengo uno listo para instalarse.

  • cuando hice esto habian muy pocos tutoriales hacerca del v8 swap.. los ls1 apenas comenzaban, por eso me decidi a hacer algo ke a mi no me habia tocado ver y fue usar el ford 5.0 .. agarre motor con tranny y accesorios en casi 700 usd. jejejej y en cuanto pague ya lo tenia, em cambio un ls1 es mas latoso de instalar debido a la electronica, y si lo pones con carburador el distribuidor keda en la parte trasera y hay ke cortar. mi swap no tiene nada cortado. !! y traigo abanicos donde van.

  • el otro staba muy chafon y pues traia tranny automatica. no se si tu tengas bastante dinero pero aqui no hay niuna sola refaccion para rb20-rb26 , y para sr20 acaba de extenderse el mercado pero antes no habian.

  • Lo usas para drift? y de que año estamos hablando porque el SR20DET tiene tiempazo con piezas aftermarket y facil de conseguirle piezas

  • no lo uso para drift pero sin duda no tengo ke hacer clutch kick para comenzar a derrapar con el welded diff. lo uso para el trabajo, uso diario. nosotros tuvimos se puede decir ke el primer sr20de en el 96 que salio con un carro llamado lucino aqui en mexico, para ese no existia ni el filtro de aceite aftermarket, y en la agencia tardaba tiempo en llegar. asi te la pongo. fue la primera experiencia y la ultima con ese motor. nome agrada comprar piezas y esperar a ke lleguen.

  • ademas yo hago la mayor parte de la mecanica de este motor, desde cambio de arbol de levas , empakes de cabezas y todo hacia arriba , etc. lo mismo hacia con el ka24e pero pues este es mas facil y comodo. ke te dire, muchisimo torke desde las 1000rpms. puedo ir pata a fondo y hacer up shift a 2000rpms sin ke el motor se muera. puedo ir en 4ta a 900 rpms y pisar pata a fondo y empuja muy bien. ke mas puedo pedir?

  • the electric fans of my 240sx arent to quick but they are placed in the right place. radiator its a 3 core non aluminum !! if it were aluminum car will be more colder.

    engine temp in a sunny day its near 180 f. i think if switch to aluminum radiator temp will rise and its better for engine and long trips.

  • oh cool. mine runs about 200 but its a sbc and i have the fan mounted on the engine. but my rad is not 3 core. but awesome. everything looks good i like the setup. you have anytrouble with the rear end and top speed?

  • i asume u have a ls1 swap in a s13 right?? i havent any trouble with rear end and top speed.. top speed maybe its same because the tranny. fifth gear its larger than stock ka24e automatic tranny.

    i had this swap for a long time now and diff work very fine.

    what kind of radiator are u running and how much fans are u running?

  • i actually have no idea what kinda rad. its a duel core it stays under 200 after i got a fan on it. but no its not an ls1 actually and old school sbc 350. with a 3 spd auto maybe thats why i have such a shitty top end.

    you running a 5 spd behind yours?

  • yep, i was running an aod tranny 4 speed with overdrive but it was boring to drive so i swap to manual 5 speed.

  • oh ha yeha i know what you mean about the auto being boring to drive. i plan on doing a 5spd/6spd swap to mine soon so i can actually drive it out on the high way. yours looks really clean under the hood.

  • si lo traes con el motor stock no batallaras nada ni tendras que hacer ninguna parte o soporte personalizado, solo compra los pedales, transmision y todo lo ke necesites y lo instalas y listo. solo hay que hacer 2 o 3 agujeros en donde pasa el cilindro del clutch pero fuera de eso no hay nada complicado, ademas alli esta marcado donde agujerar.

  • yep, its useful only an half !!!! but its hard to find a better tach that match engine rpms here in my city.... i found 3 weeks ago one tach with only 3500 rpms but its not useful . maybe was a diesel engine tach.
