i did not even admire sonic until sonic unleash came out the first sonic game i played was sonic hero.this is what happen-i walked into best buy looking to buy a game.there was nothing to buy so played some demos games.the PS3 was down and i had to play an Xbox 360.i saw sonic unleashed i was not happy because i taught there was a call of duty game in there.so i played sonic unleashed.it was awesome game play and i got an A on the first level.
This video made me laugh so hard. So many game reviewers who are well known rate games horribly because of their own faults, or lack of knowledge of the games. Sonic takes major hits due to this. I remember I loved the show X-Play until they reviewed the .Hack// games because whoever had reviewed part 3 claimed there was nothing new from part 2. The reason is they played it without the continue data so part 3 kept all the side-quests which is what the reviewer thought was the story. *Facepalm*

Had a friend who worked for Gamestop, she told me Gamestop and IGN were basically in bed with each other (they call it a "partnership"), and IGN would intentionally butter up certain games and series (coughcoughFPSescoughcough) so Gamestop would sell more copies/preorders of them.
Honestly, I trust the opinion of the Penny Arcade guys more than any gaming review site.
Funny enough, Gamespot was another one that reviewed it badly - they have a video of I believe it was either Rooftop Run or Skyscraper Scamper being played - and whoever played it did absolutely terrible.

@TheSnoozeFox Are you joking. jumpjumpjump vs. runrunrun? The Night stages added variety, platforming and good combat to the mix. It gave the game a good amount of replayability and something other than just running. The Day stages' simplicity is suited for the early 90s, not today's standard of gaming (Assassin's Creed and Batman are more or less complex, yet popular games). Galaxy isn't bad, but Unleashed is better in terms of variation and replayability. No offense to Nintendo fans.

@paxchs everything since Sonic 3D Blast has been a change to that style so i don't get how the were-hog levels' being different from original sonic is anything special.
and anyway, i thought you meant the day stages by that.

@paxchs When I heard people complain about night levels I thought "It's called VARIETY here's a dictionary." As for hubworlds I'm not a fan. I won't give it a low score because of hubworlds because they were good from a neutral standpoint. They were cool to look around I admit. I'm not a fan of Unleashed's day gameplay but I say it IS good gameplay, just not my type of gameplay. So I say it deserves a good score.

@paxchs i dont think night stages sucked but in my opinion sonic games are for speed, as its called a speed platformer so why would they force it on sonic fans who actually play for sonics speed. and the idea of stretchy arms was stupid or how even sonic turned into a werehog. i actually liked the hub due to sonic adventure. and wish they keep it and use collectibles in it. plus the werehog stages were long as hell. and when you die you lose S rank and the combat is not that great either.

@paxchs That's the thing. Slowness. Sonic is about speed. It's understandable that there could be not as fast moments, like the small free roaming the modern Sonics have. But slow enough to be outrun by a normal person? That's no good. But that's my opinion, not trollin'. Trolling would look more like this:

I hate how ign only kiss up to nintendo. When was the last time (if they did) give sonic above an 8.8. When was the last time we saw a nintendo game get less than a 9.0. SERIOUSLY!!! Sonic unleashed is 6,000 times better than both of the mario galaxy games.

@TheSnoozeFox Are you joking. jumpjumpjump vs. runrunrun? The Night stages added variety, platforming and good combat to the mix. It gave the game a good amount of replayability and something other than just running. The Day stages' simplicity is suited for the early 90s, not today's standard of gaming (Assassin's Creed and Batman are more or less complex, yet popular games). Galaxy isn't bad, but Unleashed is better in terms of variation and replayability. No offense to Nintendo fans.

The WiiS2 version is not as great when it comes to replayability and side content. And the overall gameplay is less polished and comprehensive than the PS360 version. But it's not bad.

@sonicmikmak Hahahaha! You're so funny. Truesonic is the "jurk"? You "wishd". Check out IGN's reviews after playing the game (this version, not the PS2/Wii version) and try to say that. IGN absoluted hammered the most well-made, meticulously worked on Sonic game in history ALL because the Werehog wasn't fast. They didn't care for the moves, the secrets, the music, the decent story, gave some credit to the speed and then contradicted themselves by criticizing it later. IGN are the jerks, not TS1.
