Are you sure you want to continue? yes/no" when i click yes, it goes "There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation." PLease Help.

If 1GB is 1024MB... then 20GB = 20x1024 = 20480MB (NOT 20024MB) Otherwise youll get 19.9GB

if you can't open the Shrink menu try this:

1. Open your CMD as administrator.

2. Typ chkdsk /r then press J.

3. Restart your computer and it will fix the problem, but it will take about 1 hour.

I have a second drive, D:. its 111.8 GB and I've use 92.2 of it so i should have 19.6 GB free. But when I get into the menu where I can put in the size, it can't get higher than 1623 MB, Please help! I wan't to reinstall windows on that drive.

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium with 450GB for C:. I tried to partition the HDD to have a 350GB data drive but the system does not allow me to do the same. I can only shrink the C drive to 233GB and have 217 as D:. I again tried to shrink the remaining 233 GB to 100GB but it does not allow me to.

@danny6215 i press yes then when i restarted my computer the hard disk crashed and it won't load the windows i tried to reformat it and i tried to use a rescue disk but nothing worked then i took it to the seller and he gave me a new laptop :D because it has a 1 year warranty and it didn't finish yet :D

First I already have partition called HP_Backup(D:) that's 12.9GB

and the hard disk (C:) that's 285GB

it's says I have 64GB free of 285GB but when I go to shrink the volume...is says available.

When I right click drive (c:) to shrink volume, when the window pops up, I can't select Mark As Active or format, but when I right click on HP_backup (d:) I can select them and on the other one I can't....

And when I go to shrink volume (C:) the size of available shrink space in MB is: 0

@adgj5333 It's probably from a program in your computer preventing you to partition. It's normally called "Bit-locker" from Microsoft. Try looking up tutorials on Google to disable it.
