Oh dear. Here is my thing, and let me first say, the cops and higher ups are pathetic for resorting to arrest before any attempt at diplomacy. But, the thing about decent, is that it often gets you to not see clearly. The crooked division and carelessness which ppl in power use wealth, these protestors see, and I wish everyone did. But, they don't always see how to play the game. It's a mind game. If you can subconsciously altar the minds of both power and people in your favor, you'll win.
Suggestion: Create a playlist of all 5 parts & add a link to it.
While a DAMN SHAME violent arrests were made and people were hurt, a law was being violated.
It's fairly well-known that signs are not permitted to be carried on the Courthouse steps. This was unfortunate, but ignorance of that law is no excuse.
Know the law & act within it. Anyone attending a protest should be aware, or should have been made aware, of any and all site-specific laws in place prior to their participation.
@RazberyBandit No offense, because it's obvious that you're not my enemy here... but I completely disagree with you. The reason being: the system, these laws, those that enforce it, and the 1% that we've allowed to govern... don't follow their own laws. The laws that have been proposed & passed have been done so in a way that is completely unlawful & rigged & have stripped us of all our rights. The more they complicate those laws with more laws, the worse things get. So screw the laws.
@RazberyBandit The government is corrupt. Completely corrupt. And not just here in America. Everywhere. The government's of this world are draining the planet of it's resources. There won't be a planet left to live in if we keep going the way we're going. 30 years, tops, is the time we've left if it continues this way. It's time for a complete overthrow. The future of the planet & humans literally depend on it.
@joonipuur Thx. I didn't mean to sound high-and-mighty at all, or offer defense of the action. Most actions the police took I completely disagree with.
I was simply pointing out how it is each individual's responsibility to know where they are and what they're doing, as well as the repercussions that may arise from their activity. I realize that standing at the C-house steps and holding a sign is a protest against a rather dumb law. But it is a law, and it was willfully violated.
@RazberyBandit They have broken the law over and over and over again... Its time for us to stop conforming and following orders, its time for us to stand up against stupid laws like signs not being able to be on the courthouse steps...
@RazberyBandit what are you a cop? duh, yeah. That building and steps belong to those ppl... they have, in my opnion, the right to peacefully protest the suppression of our ppl.
I am by the way a proud supporter of occupy Tacoma and and member of ANSWER organization for the last ten years so I am not trying to troll.... just relating what I watched on your stream
@johnmacn --look up Martin Luther King and civil disobedience. This is not a lawless mob, this is protesters sitting on the supreme court steps peacefully. They started arresting people out of the blue and you talk shit because this journalist gets upset?? Have you even been to a protest? Unless you have something nice/productive to say, you shouldn't say anything at all because you aren't supporting occupy, your just talking trash about people risking their ass for you.
@GVLBRTY I blocked them. They're the same troll that's been posting on all of my videos and disliking them. Every single one of these trolls that I've blocked have been 51 years old.
I just want to let it be known that I am not the one who actually filmed this footage. I just happened to be watching it live as it happened. If you need to get in contact with the lady who did film this, the information is under the description.
@joonipuur You are doing a great service. People are asking for help finding evidence of undercover cops in DC on J20. If anybody notices an undercover in any of these vids, please share on Twitter. You can tweet it to me @magpieluvsyou.
Notice the cops trying to block all cameras? That's why they shield arrests, just in case their colleague is caught on film laying a punch in or kicking someone in the head.
That's also why the NYPD and US Gov have tried to have videos like this pulled from the net in the past. And all the while the USA is criticizing other countries for cracking down on protest. They might not be firing on citizens yet, but ask yourself how many protesters it'll take before they do.
@Conranify Take a look at all the dislikes this video has accumulated since last night. I know for a fact that those are from paid agents of disinfo who don't want people to see this video.
Shut your face, your voice is bugging the shit out of me. I appreciate the video but you have to understand that you sound like a f'n moron with all of your statements.
whatever, I support the occupy movement but come on! This sounds like you guys are just trying to get the police to fuck with you. The police can suck my ass, but they aren't the problem.... the problem is with the people inside that building and with the person holding that camera.
@jcoverpass There is no justification for violence. It's not illegal to tell the cops to fuck off. It is illegal, however, to assault ppl. People push other people's buttons every day. And ppl go to jail every day for snapping after having had their buttons pushed. These ppl are fed up with being told they can't do something that is within their legal rights & they're tired of the brutal way they're being treated. It's actually quite commendable they've kept THEIR cool for as long as they have.
I get tears in my eyes every time I watch this. You are incredible and who knows how many lives you saved by being there. Robert Cruz from Redding that you captured on this tape being lead away is an incredible human being and deserves to be treated like an american like all of you.
"these cops know the power of these cameras, they are blockin me left and right" --but you kept on going like a true soldier. Thanks, we appreciate you.
We must join together in mass and put an end to this sort of illegal action by the police. i am fighting my own battle at the federal level and have been hitting wall after wall for nearly 3 years. look me up on facebook and lets join forces for the upcomming marches in April on earth day. face book.com/James.M.Hornik
@dathribab I was recording it when it was live streaming & wanted to get it up right away on youtube. You can go through OccupyFreedomLA's ustream archives to see it...
@freedomofspeechmyass You DO realize that people can click your account and see that you just joined youtube right? You're probably one of the cops in that video. Don't worry, im sure all your personal information will be floating around the internet soon enough. Now collect your money for posting these comments errand boy and get a real job.
@lIlIlIlIlIlIIllIlI Yeah, I'm getting A LOT of those lately. They come on here, dislike the video, post a bunch of nasty comments, most of it just filled with pure hate, & then when I check their channel... it's completely empty. Or they don't have an account. Or they have an account solely to go around posting negative comments on videos just like these. They make it obvious for those of us with eyes to see.
For those that don't think this is extreme, then I don't know what is... Because when I see multiple police officers SLAMMING protesters to the ground, pushing and shoving, trying to break the ankle of an elderly woman's foot, and CHOKING people... I consider that extreme!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WARNING: SHILL ALERT! SHILL ALERT! Anyone who I suspect is paid to come on here and cause problems, distractions, and disinformation is getting blocked. If they can't respect OUR rights to freedom of speech, then I'm done respecting theirs. After all the brutality I witnessed on these live streams today, MY patience has run out!
@joonipuur The same troll is going around on my videos making comments from multiple accounts. Additionally, they're also going around disliking the video so that it won't get any more views. I could be pissed off about this, but I'm not. I laugh at this, because it definitely verifies that they're deathly afraid of the public seeing these videos.
Definitely not extremely violent or particularly brutal, but yes, unnecessarily aggressive and typically uncooperative. Keep with the filming though, every little bit helps.
One day these cops might realise what we/they are actually dealing with and I hope that day doesn't come too late for anyone.
@hajicasebolt By filming events as they happen she is being very helpful in providing first hand evidence. Sure, I've got a couple of minor gripes about it too, and I'd call it aggressive but not brutal, but I guess she's not a professional journalist, just someone with a camera who wants to be there to record events and there is nothing at all wrong with that. If you are truly one of "us", in that you refer to "our cause", then you'd understand that and not be such a dick.
@RiotGearEpsilon Just watch the damn thing and you'll see. Honestly, is your level of operation so low that you can't focus for ten little minutes in the hope that you might learn something, or do you need your hand holding every step of the way?
stupid cops the world is watching.....what you do to our peaceful protestors! over doing on the volience that you keep showing us.....one day we all will get tired of your abuse of your power and they you cops will have no freinds outside of just cops......you cops make me sick....
Name badges are missing, faces covered...and the cops are making a barrier so there can be no good filming or witness.
The footage is good, but please do NOT try to claim freedom of the press WHILE taking sides ("the whole world is watching") You must pick one or the other, or you'll ruin it for the rest fo those trying to Witness via media.
@RocketToRio They actually have the right to pick up arms and take back the government by force. It is in the constitution. Im sure they dont need a permit to be there
