This is actually the type of Star Wars silliness that I love. Riding Dewbacks to search a vast desert area: Impractical? Yes. Inconsistent with the level of other in-world technology? Yes. But it's cute, fun, and adds a much needed element of self irony, as long as it's done in style and without excess (of course there are ways to go completely wrong with it *cough*ewoks*cough*prequels*cough).
After that scene, the troop leader hits him on the head for stating something so incredibly wrong as to mistake The Ring of Power for a couple droids.
hen they did the Star Wars Special Edition Lucas needed more troops in some of the scenes. So they decided to make some helmets that looked like the ROTJ and they also had a few ROTJ helmets lying around as well. Thats why you see them.
So they have space ships, landing crafts, speeders, god knows what else and they have to search thousands of square miles of desert on giant Iguanas? Then the guys who are on foot, look like they're patrollin the beat on the street..lol
How did they animate the iguana thingys in like 1977?
