  • Best Song. Just it.

  • i want that picture as my wallpaper!

  • Only 100,000 views? It's unforgivable.

  • Bedlam in Goliath is one of my favourite albums, not only by the Mars Volta but also of any band I've ever heard. Everything about every song is just stunning. Plus there's the fact that the lyrics are from ghosts. Its just so chilling.

  • 3:43 I fucking love the change in pace here. Gives me goosebumps every time. The good kind of goosebumps.

  • Long live to TMV

  • This song is phat as hell!

  • 4:47 is probably one of my favourite TMV moments: "There's a place where this depth charge ignites. In this place where the soul has no purpose." Amazing.

  • This song is fuckin' awsome! ٩(๏̯͡๏)۶

  • I mean "No fence can hold this sentient"

  • *!NEAK!* I gotta say my favorite part is "No fence will hold this sentient" but I also like the whole beginning and "time is a plague there's no time in this place" and "There is no miracle my life's your miracle" and "I wrap myself around your very question, through the blisters of confinement" this next one is my second fav "to rebuild the pigment case that i have left" just awesome stuff. Somethimes I can't help but to listen to the entire song all over again I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I used to think it was "Heaven's made of cesspool love" and I like that better lol

  • @arcticvultures I hope you aren't thinking that this song sounds like that song. Because it doesn't and this song is way better too.

  • "Heaven's made a cesspool of us all."

  • What if we find what tongue ties double windsor = my favorite lyric of all time. I get the strangest, most incredible sensation when I hear it. Its a combination of the music, vocal delivery, and what I was going through at the time I heard the record and listened to it nonstop, late 2007 was all Bedlam baby.

  • @chawn5

Acid is a hell of a drug

  • I think youtube must have missed off a few digits on the number of views this has, only 82,800 ??

  • fucking annoyed, i bought this album but i've some how lost the disc, i have the cover but don't know where the fuck the disc is. to make matters worse i recently reformatted and forgot to back up my mp3 version of it. have to come to youtube to listen to it and the sound quality isn't as good.

  • you've got some good artwork of TMV.

i haven't been able to find any like that online!

  • i loooooooooooove this song

  • this is F*uckin amazing!!

an awesome crescendo!! very intensive, very powerfull!

(and the greatness of this song is that all parts are DIFFERENT. So creative!)

[my favorite section 5:00 through end ...]

  • 1:31 that section makes me feel amazing... :)

  • The Bedlam will ALWAYS be my favourite Volta album. It's one of my favourite musical albums period.

De-loused, whilst a good album, i haven't given it the time it deserves. Everytime i listen it just won't grip me like Bedlam does....so i'm waiting for that day where it just 'clicks'.

  • @xheartshapebox I was kind of the opposite of you. I got completely wrapped in De-Loused, but never really gave Bedlam the time until several months ago; now this is probably my second favorite album from them. It's so cinematic - I really want to write a screenplay based on the story.

  • @jayinater Cinematic is the perfect word to describe it you're right.

Thats what i love above the MV, each album represents different things for different listeners.

  • @xheartshapebox My man, when it does you're gonna shit bricks

  • this song is the shit!!! carlos if your outthere neak im stil here and keeping it real

  • i love all their albums i think their great artists.

  • I like only a couple songs off their new album... Frances the Mute was honestly the best. Yes, "true devotees" will claim that nothing can top Deloused. But Frances is simply more cohesive and artistically mature as an album. Amputechture, in my opinion, is alright, even though many fans consider it the outcast of TMV albums. I am rather fond of Bedlam, and its electric, chaotic, alien sounds. But seriously? Why are all these new fans gravitating towards Octahedron? It was so bad!

  • @Anonymous122131 octahedron was still a good album. tmv said it themselves that it was the closest to mainstream or pop they were willing to approach.. maybe thats why you consider it bad compared to the other albums

  • I don't get it... I know "Since We've Been Wrong" and "Televators" are great songs, that should deserve a lot of views... but this is what defines the Mars Volta... Below 100k views. It's frightening, really... especially since this is one of their best songs.

  • oh Cedric, you're naughty... no... really.. it's kinda hot this song.. xD like porno.. oh gosh... love TMV...

    btw I'm stoned.

  • awesome song..hahaha what the fuck with the 3rd picture :P

  • @magicyte.. even if they did sit and combined all the drugs available to human kind, they write and make music no one else has the balls to. theyr SICK, but im guessin u'll never understand that.. bitch lol

  • the best bass riff ever by far

  • Bedlam is great. I was not really expecting it nor to this day have I COMPLETELY revealed its potential. It takes at least two years for their records to really really really make sense for me I guess.

    So much good notes. Endless.

  • I love how musically they sound so diverse. I love the metal-style drums, but...Idk, so weird, but so cool. They balance progressiveness nice with regular music

  • Comment removed

  • The Mars Volta must have invented smoking crack and sherm at the same time. Just kidding but damn... this is canned heat.

  • YES

the mars volta are SOOOO GOOD to get high too!!!!

  • whose myspace?

  • dude check his myspace he plays a video tribute to jackson its sick

  • i just came....

  • music for getting high

  • vocals are insane, thomas is always on time and cutting edge, the bassist is always with him having fun this whole band to me is complete and ready for anything this band is just talented in all directions

  • maybe too talented... i hate when they get 'noisy'... then again 'eriatarka' is one of my favorite songs of all time, and they actually let the instruments breathe on that one.

i think they're too scared of sounding like a rock band. for example, the solo at 1:30 is my favorite part of the song... you never hear stuff like that, makes him sound like the next carlos santana. but i think allowing solos by omar and pridgen would be too mainstream for tmv.

  • i agree the first part of cygnus... vismund cygnus was bad ass, and everything screwed up

  • @ steez8

I think they can't get talented enough, really- they're all based on emotion and energy, so technique or spacey shit will never kill them. They get noisy sure, but they're not meshuggah and mostly I love those bits for connecting the songs and narratives. I do agree on those guitar parts though! 1:30 is great. Very much like in Teflon, 2:55. I like that one even more (:

  • @steez8 All TMZ does is purposely play outside of scales and key structure. I'm guessing most people don't play like that cause they haven't combined crack, herion, and DMT into one sitting.

  • @magicyte i don't know if you think its easy to play outside of scales and key structures for 100+ minute album runtimes and make money by selling a shitload of albums, but i can assure u sir its not. if it was more people would be doing it.

  • @chud89 Oh yes, and anyone who thinks different needs a shot in the temple with cyanide.

  • @chud89 it's not thomas es TOMAS

  • @chud89 omar is so so but yeah i agree, for the most part

  • Oh my god, you ruined it by adding that picture at 2:06

  • impresionante

  • and when i thought music had died with brass bands, gtfo

  • Definitely my favorite on the album. I listen to this song everyday.

  • Same here, but I highly disagree with your name.

  • It's not MTV the channel it's my initials. Why should my name have anything to do with my comment though?

  • i love the deep voices mixed into it

  • The bassline is lovely.

  • Cedric and Omar kick ass

  • Because

great song I love this whole album

  • Fantastic song. Very intense. This guys are incredibly talented

  • This song is amazing. I actually love it.

  • Lovely song with a lovely bassline

  • this is one of the greatest bass lines i've ever heard

  • day of the baphomets is pretty awesome too

  • @Noaofhearts I wrote this comment 3 years ago

  • @The8starr lol, let the hipster jokes fly

  • No fence will hold the sentient

    culprit fall about it

Say when I can enter them

    culprit fall about it

One fell, the other taste won't lie

    Make no doubt about it!

  • i feel it

  • great song, where are the pictures from, theyre fantastic!

  • BECAUSE!

What if we find what tongue ties double windsor?

    TMV = beyond cool

  • this is my favorite song on bedlam

  • trippy pictures...

  • "There's a place where this depth charge ignites.

In a place where a soul has no purpose.

I can't believe you when your thirst won't let me go.

I am the moment you were always speaking of because there's......"

Great song. The last three minutes are just amazing. God I love this album.

  • The Mars Volta is the best band ever. Seriously. They do everything and they do it the best.

"What if we find what tongue ties double Windsor?"

  • the best from the album

  • yep i agree

  • for sure!

  • I feel ya man,the mars volta is the shit.

  • this song is great but from about 3:12 on they get into the stuff that really makes me LOVE this band. Anybody feelin me? FUCK!

  • this song is like orgasmic =0

  • I'm with you absolutly!!!

Mars volta makes me scream of pleasure! :)

(Sorry, I'm spanish and I speak english badly)

  • BECAUSE

  • yeah i just figured it out its not that bad

  • If anyone has the tab for this solo (1:32)could you please post the link. Thanks

  • learn to play by ear, its all in 1 key.

  • man whats with people and tabs learn to play for real. how will you ever be independent otherwise

  • I'm broken mirrors and useless prayer... love that part =) love this damn song

  • after listening to alot of their tracks...TMV reminds me of Rush on steriods...

  • awesome

  • i'm addicted to the "what if they find..." parts

  • Dude, me too. And the, "I'm trapped in this cement husk" line. Dunno why.

  • I wrap myself around your very questiooooon

    Through the blisters of con-fine-meeeent!

  • they enter a new dimension at 1:32, 1:42, 3:44,AND 5:16 respectively.

leaving tmv in the 8th dimension by the end of the song

  • I love the "Because" part in the pre-chorus, it sounds like a R&B baritone/bass singer i.e., Barry White.

  • or an 80's robot.

  • Yeah, reminds me a lot of ATDI

  • The breakdown and outro is fucking mental!

  • IMO this is one of the most atdi-ish sounding songs they've made in a long time.

    -especially the breakdown @ 5:15

have only listened to the album maybe 3 times all the way through but this is an early favorite for me

  • this is the best song on the album

dont get me wrong ouroboros is a good but the double bass pedal in the beginning of the song isnt good

its not like the mars volta i knew

in the end i like jon better

  • uh.. Thomas Pridgen doesn't use double bass pedal. it's not even set up on his drumset that he uses with Mars Volta - besides - how would he keep his hi-hat closed if he would use one? Please, get your facts straight. I think it's only cool that Thomas can get those double and triple hits out single foot and in the end it still ends up sounding more tasteful than most of typical bass drum patterns out there.

  • you can get a hi-hat "clutch" to keep the hats closed while you play double kick...not meaning to argue with you, just saying is all :)

  • yeah, I knew that - Pridgen doesn't use one though. Actually he's well known for his ability to do a lot with one kick and I think I've never seen him with a set that has even a double pedal.

  • And I would also like to add that also Jon used double hits in similar fashion on many tracks (with less speed and power though).

  • but with more taste :)

  • which is a matter of taste. =) and I'm not pointing out that it's somehow wrong to like Jon better. It's just seems odd to whine about the kick line on Ouroboros, since the same stuff has been done similarry by Jon. Now the tempo was higher and somehow it creates this image for me that the problem for a lot of people is that think it's double pedal and that's somehow makes the MUSIC somehow worse? It's not even like some boring doublebass bombard like on some death metal songs.

  • This song kicks ass!! As does the album!

  • You gotta let Cedric know!

  • culprit fall about it

  • This song is excelent but I rahter prefer Ouroboros.

  • yea is song is fan taststick!

  • Best song and album by fucking far, sons!!!!!!!!!!!

  • because

  • i got distance

  • don't let it close

  • gotta let me know

you just gotta let me know...

  • you just gotta let me know

    gotta let me know

  • My favorite of the album. Just so catchy.

  • THIS is the song they played live that i was just thinking uh what is this? i loved the bassline and i still love it

  • Yeah, I know

  • Goliath baby!

    I love this song.

  • I should have known you'd always scratch that bitch.

    :|

  • Unfrieden schluckt!

  • was?

  • Yet another awesome song.
