  • i just got new computer and i have an external sound card.... cubase can not find my soundcard?? wtf please help lol everything else on my comp sees it and i can hear my voice

  • Could someone please tell me what does patched mean? I'm all new to this... lol

  • where your says adat on device port mine says left or right us-800 does that matter

  • @whitexgreen Scratch that I was just confused and picking at everything because nothing was working but now it is so forget i asked that

  • after hours of searching i finally found out how to set up for recording, much appreciated, great video!

  • I've got a problem. my cubase le5 cant find my tascam or mic under the VST Connections :( so theres only sound from my headset mic. not my "pro recording mic" (røde nt2a) Please help :)

  • lol there's a crap folder

  • Why do i have a delay when i say something?

    Please help me.

  • @lilcri5 latency,download ASIO4all and problem solved

  • need help !!! how can i record guitars in real time ,every time that i record a guitar is behind the time

  • @bril36 What you are experiencing is called latency (you can google it to learn more). First thing to do is make sure you have the correct drivers selected for you audio interface. Make sure you are using the ASIO drivers that are recomended for your interface. After that is determined, make sure the latencey (or buffer size) is set to the lowest setting you can get by with...without pops, clicks, and crackels.

  • Hey, I just installed cubebase 4 LE which came with my RP255 guitar processor, but I cant get it to record! I set up the RP255 as my audio card, yet still dont get any sound frequency qhen recording. Im able to hear sound through my pedal but when I try to record and then play what "I recorded" I dont get any sound back. PLEASE HELP

  • @diegoalba11 You might check the "VST Connections" and make sure the correct inputs are selected for recording....If you import a sample audio file into your project, can you hear that playback?

  • thank you so much man you helped me get going a little bit faster with this!!! :)

  • Something I wonder about in cubase is how to start recording from the cursor instead of the beginning of the measure. For example i want to record an instrument from the middle of the measure. I place the cursor where I want it to be and hit record, but the cursor automatically goes to the beginning of the measure. How do I disable that? It's driving me insane!

  • Hey harold, I'm using cubase 5, and a tascam us-144. I'm having trouble setting up the vst connections output buses, i have not the slightest idea of what to do, but i can record, just cant hear anything from my speakers

  • @Koversify Something you might look at is the "Control Room" settings in the VST Connections (If you are using this feature)

  • Hi, I recorded an interview using this on wave format. I went through and edited out all the parts that I didn't need. There was close to 30 cuts/deleats I did so now I have 30 gaps to close. Do I have to drag each invidual piece together or is there a 'Select All' button or method to re-connect all the remaining wave files. Everytime I begin to do one at a time it always messes up, Thanks for your help.

  • Thanks Harold, your tutorial is very helpful. It is very factual and uncomplicated to understand!! Much appreciated!! Peace!

  • I would also not recommend auto save every 30 secs. If you accidentaly delete a file and get sidetracked you have 30 secs to get it back!!

  • @hbrookes Cubase saves all the audio files whether you delete them or not. The only way you can delete them for keeps is to delete them from the "Trash" in Cubase's Pool or to delete them from the folder via windows explorer. The backup will not effect the undo as described in your scenario.

  • why do you record in 48k? Thats the video standard sample rate. If you wanna go to cd you will need to down convert to 44.1 which is the standard audio sample rate.

  • @hbrookes I want to keep all my recording / processing / editing at the most practical and best quality for my rig. There are many reasons why I chose to record at 48k...First, If I want to archive the recording for future high-quality uses. 48k lets me uses my plug-ins and system at a higher resolution without sacrificing or compromising because my plug-in instances get cut down at 96 192 or whatever. I prefer to capture the best quality I can and mix and master with that up until mixdown.

  • Okay. So if i don't have the ASIO audio then will i be able to record from my Yamaha S910 keyboard using the mic in option in my laptop?

    I have HP DV6-6033CL

    i3 : 2.10 Sandy Bridge

    Beats Audio Speakers

    4GB DDR3 RAM

    640GB HDD

Intel HD Graphics 3000 Series 1797 MB

  • @sameer28101997 You can record it...just not with optimal latency. asio4all.com might be useful to you.

  • Thanks for the tutorial, NED FLANDERS! LOL :-)

  • hey dude, nice video! wondering if u could help me out. On my VST connections box, it says "Missing: SoundMAX DIgital" on all my stereos outs and stereo in's! Hence i think why i cant get any sound into my cubase. Help! :)

  • I hope your advice is the same for Cubase 5 ! We've been stuck at how to create overdubs/ multiple tracks for a good while now. - You chose 4 tracks ...is there any drawback to chosing, say, 8 at the start? Or is the steps for adding more tracks later a pretty simple (always less than obvious for Cubase beginners) process? Anyway... I hope your advice works for Cubase AI 5 ... you make it seem less then bewildering! Thanks.

  • @marmas58ink Thanks!!! No benefit to choosing 4. I normally have a 24 track template...but it is very simple to add more tracks later. It is the same as I showed in the video.

  • anybody have any recommendations for good audio interfaces? i have a tascam us-122l and its blowin balls right now :/ please reply :) thanks!

  • 1080p FTW

  • how do you record drums with cubase le4????

  • So what exactly are those mono bus's doing?

  • for some reason I can't seem to get my guitar to come up on cubase

I have it plugged into the microphone slot on my pc

  • @Julzso23 Try going to Device Setup than go to your Control Pannel

  • I have Cubase and it won't really get you where you want to go because i also have Reason 4 and that is so much better

  • hello.. hi nice to meet you i reeally nees ur help.. i got cubase today and i have an maudio interface.. i really cant get them to work.. i cant set them up could u please help me ??? thnkx daniel rays ;)

  • great tutorial...thankssss

  • ok so ive done everything right(i think): all the hardware is routed and the asio is working and the mic is plugged in a my levels are fine but when i record into cubase wat is recorded is very very LOW. Ive done everything from raising the gain(which makes it distort) to raising the fader on the cpu but its still way too low. And i know its not the interface cuz i can leave it the same way as it is on cubase but switch to another DAW and it will sound perfectly so do u hav a solution?

  • Very helpful! Thanks sooo much Harold!

  • is nuendo n cubase are the same?

  • @YoungbgokuofficiaTV In a word "No"...but they are very similar and have many of the same features. If you are doing mostly music then Cubase (which is cheaper) is probably your best option. If you are doing stuff like movie and video game mixes then Nuendo (which is more expensive) might be the way to go. Visit Steinberg's website and check out the complete list of differences.

  • Iam trying to track out from mpc2500 to cubase wuts the first thing i need to do

  • Sorry, but i really need some help, because my recorder doesn't pick up anything for some reason! I'll record and no bars will show sound detection and even when i play back the recording, still nothing! My audio device is ASIO DirectX full duplex driver in case that is necessary to know. Everything seems normal but i don't know. Hopefully you can bring my frustration to an end!

  • hey im new at cubase i got the new edition cubase 5 and i see you have your microphone set up ? i have mic to use but i have no idea how to set it up i want to start recording my voice and would u please give me a tip on what to do

  • hey

i have one more question: how do i set up a spectrum analyzer so it receives the input of every track as one output?

sorry to be a pain :P

  • Not a problem. If you are setting up a hardware or a plugin spectrum analyzer it is basically the same. You just route all your tracks to an output (i.e. Stereo Master) and put the analyzer on the insert of that channel. If it is hardware...do the same except hook your analyzer's input to the "Master Outputs" of your interface.

  • thats pretty simple thanks man

  • when i record in cubase the music only comes out of on speeker what could

    it be????

  • @chrisrillo214 check to make sure the master out is sending out to a L/R channel on your interface
