What I don't like about the bass is that there is a knob on a bottom horn which probably gets in the way when slapping. Although it is probaly designed for metal (obviously), I think that knob might a hindrance to slap bass players.

I didn't notice it until you said something, so I watched his style. He doesn't slap off the fretboard like many others do. He hits slightly away, and also with his pop isn't right up next to it. So either that's his style, or he adapted to fit the bass.
