At 1:40 seconds the messia speaks the truth. It takes good waves to do good surfing, something you rarely see in SoCal. Good thing he's from Australia. All this "skill" talk & points accumulation is just hype as I claim that the top 30 surfers can all do the same if they only had the same waves. When SoCal finally had some very good waves per the swell of the decade people just don't believe the magic that happened that I speak of. But for J-Bay it's just a normal day of "magic". JP rules!

You are unclear on what a jock surfs like and how one gets to be "overrated" and how one should surf. I said the "top 30" all rule, thus you act like anyone of the top 30 shouldn't be able to claim 1st place at any contest. The ASP is a joke anyways for this trying to put a number on people when it's mostly mother nature's luck, the way a contest used to be/should be. Try & tell me that one's off the lip is better than another's not becuz of the wave that was better shape for it.

your clearly the kook, you start with the slater theory & talk about those who never win. Then you end with its all BS? If it's BS then isn't more reason that slater should not win? Seems contradictory & you seem like an agent checkn the current marketing situation. Ratings are BS. Surfing has a huge element of luck that is in denial. Your just here say it's BS now that it's back to normal ie. random luck. What's underrated is good surf as we see in less that 10% of SoCal contests, ie. 90% hype

Your exaggerating. With such good surf there is no hyping someone's score. The randomness still comes from the waves. Parko got the better waves at the time he was there helping him crank those stunts better. Every contestant was trying to do the same thing better, bounce off the top & get barreled. Some new surf stunts are inefficent or into whitewash as apposed to continuing on a good wave. Garbage surf leads to quack "maneuvers" ie. SoCal and that's hype. There is no game to describe yourself
