I had to learn how to hand feed goldfish to my garter snake. It would bite me after a while and wouldn't let go of my finger. So I stepped it it, then it let go of my finger.

Also have another question. I know this hobby must take a lot of your time. So if you don't mind my asking, isn't it quite expensive? I just wonder how you fund all of your snakes and supplies.

Wow!!! You know, Al...people often say how "dumb" snakes are because of the size of their brains, but, Gabbies seem to always be looking around, eyes darting about checking out everything. However, if you'll notice she twitched her eyes only twice from the very beginning then locked all systems on YOU! Then just waited for the right opportunity to strike.

Don't tell me they're dumb. That snake knew exactly what she was doing. Man, I think I would have squeezed out 4 or 5 drops with that, Al.

This is yet another example as to why ownership of these snakes should be greatly considered by keepers. Just one mistake and you are in a world of trouble. My Python, Curtis do the same thing all the time. Sometime they cover the full 4" length of their enclosure in a single strike.

The Death Adder is the fastest striker from what i know. i watched a Video were a Death Adder hit a mouse and wrapped around it. When it was slowed down you could see that the Death Adder actually struck the mouse twice then wrapped around it all in less then a second. Just a finger snap and it was all over.
