The images I have seen people produce of allegedly matching contrails cannot be mistaken for missiles. This is a single sourced contrail. It has the greater diameter of a rocket launch. It has the same choppy characteristics. There are only a few aircraft that can feasibly produce this effect and they are not airliners.

@seekortry an aircraft contrail varies depeneding on different condtions in the atomosphere. A long lasting contrail will no stay "2 lines" very long at all. It will form a clound quickly after exiting the engines and from a that will then drift and distort due to the upper level winds.

From the proposed distance it was launched the base of the contrail is absolutely MASSIVE compared to ANY OTHER TYPE OF ROCKET from a similar distance. A missle contrail fired from 30+ mi away is not that thick....it is a very thin contrail. Look up a video of an rocket launch from 30mi+ and see. If it was closer than there would be no doubt if it was a missle or not, if it was farther than the contrail would be really thin.

I agree that this looks alot like a launch,but,I don,t think that is the real question .The real question is why was it done?Was it a message to the US military by some other world power? Was it to make us think that the U.S. is vulnerable to attack or somehow lost control of it's ICBM arsenal? The missile, just by looking at it, is a Minuteman III, one of many of the Minuteman III's stored at VBG. The Navy said it wasn't their missile because it's an AIR FORCE BASE. And I believe that the quote from the AF was taken out of context, an incident on this scale just doesn't slip under the radar like this. Clearly not legitimate news.

To say that American military missile launches take place off the California coast is fine, but the Department of Defense has stated that they don't know what it was (airplane takeoff or no, they don't know for sure). @IIZODIIAC Link to it. I spent a career in the USAF and in defense and space contracting and have never seen an aircraft contrail that looks just like a missile launch. Not once. The images I have seen people produce of allegedly matching contrails cannot be mistaken for missiles. This is a single sourced contrail. It has the greater diameter of a rocket launch. It has the same choppy characteristics. There are only a few aircraft that can feasibly produce this effect and they are not airliners.

You would also have to duplicate the choppy profile of the trail which is not typically produced by turbofan engines. I am not calling you a liar but you may want to accept that some people are better equipped than you to differentiate what you think matches the vapor trail that day. I have seen nothing that adequately explains the footage.

According to the reported distance of this alleged launch there is no way a launch contrail would look like this. Missle launch contrail would appear much much smaller. @seekortry an aircraft contrail varies depeneding on different condtions in the atomosphere. A long lasting contrail will no stay "2 lines" very long at all. It will form a clound quickly after exiting the engines and from a that will then drift and distort due to the upper level winds.

From the proposed distance it was launched the base of the contrail is absolutely MASSIVE compared to ANY OTHER TYPE OF ROCKET from a similar distance. A missle contrail fired from 30+ mi away is not that thick....it is a very thin contrail. Look up a video of an rocket launch from 30mi+ and see. If it was closer than there would be no doubt if it was a missle or not, if it was farther than the contrail would be really thin.

If it was really flight 880 to Hawaii, why haven't zillions of people taped and posted that flight, to show us all just how much it might look like a missile, when it's just a plane? Answer: Because it WAS a missile. Probably launched from a submarine off the coast, just to let us know they could have nailed us, but didn't, and the pentagon is waiting for the noise to die down while scrambling to see if it was Iran, North Korea, or whatever.
