I s'pose that that's relative. Any good band would be able to make their music really good regardless of the language they're singing in, whether it's Dutch, German or English. As long as the emotion is there, and the lyrics undrstandable by the target group. If that's the case message is there.

Dutch music isn't necessarily sung in Dutch - I'm referring to music sung in any particular language - As long as it's sung right, with the right emotion, it's just fine.

And may I add, that as a Dutch person, your knowledge of Netherlands produced music is less than poor.

I do know enough of the dutch music specially when i'm living in the same country as you are.

So thats why i would rather listen to English,German, Finnish metal, Industrial, Electronic music

The language Dutch is just Fucked up the only person that sings a bit ok is Marco Borsato.

I agree with that - I myself dislike Dutch music sung in Dutch, but you're failing to grasp my point here.

There's also good Dutch music; Within Temptation , Epica, Delain, After Forever - all singing in English, rather than Dutch.

just one question... does sound dutch and german for you really so much like the other? couse i doubt chris pohl (the singer here) ever sung in dutch... but often in german. or is it just like i would say "english" when its rather american or so?

sorry, i just want to understand it why i always under german bands read "dutch singer..." and so on. the thing is... if it were dutch, i couldnt understand it, so i'm pretty sure its not.

yes, it is very much like it, and we do know at least plattdeutsch sounds very much like netherlands. it just is not the same. an d i wonder how that comes, its so often assumed to be the same.

plattdeutsch is the version of Nederlands spoken in germany as Vlaams is in Belgium. no means to offend any Dutch ppl here but Linguistically they are the exact same Language (with some very minor differences). the only reason they're not considered the same Language is because they're spoken in two different countries namely Netherlands en germany (and Belgium).

i dont agree, im flemisch and i cant speak german quite well (even had german as 4th !!!!! language at school for 4 years) , so dont say their the same language . french and italian are also boht roman so are they also the same?

ik denk je hebt mij misverstaan. ik wou niet seggen dat duits en nederlands dezelfde talen zijn, maar nederlands en nederduits of nederlands en vlaams. dat zijn alleen verschillende dialecten van dezelfde taal. ik weet ook dat duits en nederlands niet dezelfde taal zijn :P
