  • This is History. If You like it, You are History too.. God Bless Yu All~~

  • This song rocks even after all these years.A true time traveling song

  • i connect with this. i would love to be walking down that lonely highway in real life instead of in my mind

  • Whenever I'm having a bad day, I can count on this song to change my state of mind. I can't hardly feel down when I listen to this song.

  • I find this a very nostalgic song for me. It is also a very appropriate song for some people during the holiday season. This song was popular years ago when I was a homeless man and an older couple rented me a small humble apartment from them in the San Gabriel Mission District in California. That was a magical Christmas with the neighborhood all aglow in Christmas lights, me secure in my simple space watching Clint Black sing State of Mind on the television.

  • @demondog1ful damn yo guess the good loard still exist :) im happy for ya man

  • One of my favorite Clint videos!!

  • I've been a Clint Black fan since he 1st started!!! Glad he's touring and makin movies! Love State of Mind!!!!

  • best he ever did...wish he'd get back out there!

  • They don't make them like this anymore!

  • My fave song by Clint Black. Love it! This is real music!

  • Great song. 90's thru early 00's country was country with just a hint of pop. Today's country is pop with just a hint of country.

  • @andyt1313 Hey, we have the same playlist name! :D

  • Thanks~~Performance, Memories, Real. Nuff Said.

  • today's country isn't like "WAAAAHHHH".back when country was"WAAAAHHHH"they don't make country like":WWWWAAAAAAHHH".all this new country isn't"WAAAHHHH".taylor swift plays guitar better than most of you critter-sizers.she worked hard to learn it.and still practices.all you old farts just sit in a bar and whine bout everthang.now there's a song.

  • Everybodys saying todays country sucks, I dont think it does! I love country, old and new! I am 14 and love the old stuff like Reba, Travis Tritt, Alabama, all of that AND I like the new stuff like Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker! Country is country I love it all!!

  • My wife and I got into an argument over country music. She said its so great today because of Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum and that country in the 90s was honky tonk crap like this song. I told her to go away and that if she touches my Clint Black cds we're not speaking for a week.

  • @tachikoma747 well.... i kinda gatta agree with you both, i do like today's too....but then again i am only 20 so....

  • @tachikoma747 My uncle used to hate country, he loved southern rock. Now all he listens to is country, he says the new country is like southern rock and the new rock is more like pop and heavy metal. :) Guess you two would get along well. Me, I love old country .... but since I am a rocker at heart I still like some of the new country, too!

  • @tachikoma747 Tell her listen to spend my time

  • @tachikoma747 My wife said the same thing. Im signing the divorce papers today......

  • @tachikoma747 Todays country aint even country, its pop trash ha, im 15, i love Clint Black, Johnny Cash, Waylon, Willie, LeDoux, all the greats!

  • This was the Golden age of country. The radio was full of great singers and songs. How boring it seems today.....

  • aldean seriously ?how in the hell do you put aldean even in a close bracket with Clint Black,MarkChestnutt, sammy kershaw, tracy byrd, randy travis.damn boy you done cracked me up down here.aldean wtf

  • these pussies below are naming so called country artists below because they are on the hit list and shoved down your throat by local radio stations.my god darius rucker?jason aldean?›lady antebulam <?are you fucking serious.put me in a recording studio alter my voice and i can sound like any of these motherfuckers

  • lots of people say country sucks now, but it really doesnt! all music has changed since the 80's and 90's, nothing is the same anymore, but there are some good bands out there! Zack Brown Band sings about good livin and havin fun, which is what country is all about! yeah there modern, so what? and what about Darius Rucker? you need to respect country today, because its still good, and theres nothing wrong with change!

  • @purplelamprox u named one artist

  • @Firefighter72BG i named zack brown band and Darius Rucker. theres also Lady Antebellum, Josh turner, Rodney Atkins. now ive named 5 artists

  • @purplelamprox well u named three ACTUAL COUNTRY ARTIST

  • @Firefighter72BG ok then ill name 2 more ACTUAL COUNTRY ARTISTS, Justin Moore and Jason Aldean

  • @purplelamprox u only named one lol

  • @Firefighter72BG cant you count? its 2

  • @purplelamprox jason aldean doesnt count

  • @Firefighter72BG why not?

  • @purplelamprox he doesnt write his own music he is so mainstream and he is more southern rock then actual country

  • Mid nineties was the best time for Country

  • @7EMERSON9 no

  • @Firefighter72BG Well, you're right; I'll rephrase that and say it was the Last of the good stuff, and it went out with a bang.

  • my fav country artist of all time

  • Always my favorite music artist! I wanna see lil wayne tied to a tree in the wilderness, while being forced to listen to REAL music like this.

  • Man country music was great in the 90's.

  • @TheMrTide ALL music was great in the 90s and prior. Today people "remix", or recreate something already made. There is no originality. Its a real shame so many wonderful people are wasting and throwing away so many beautiful gifts/talents. Hopefully someday soon people will open their eyes and see the bigger picture. Hopefully artistry, creativity, originality will come back out and people will step out of the "norm" and stop following, and being so afraid.

  • @TheMrTide everything was better in the 90's

  • @TheMrTide

Im only 25 but I grew up listening to this at my grandmas house and riding around as a kid and I just couldn't imagine life without my good old 90's country.

  • Takes me back to the 90s and HS memories.

  • Clint Black and Mark Chesnutt !! Two of the best and underated performers ever !!

  • this song takes me to another place in time. Clint is a very talented person.

  • this is real country

  • did you ever notice that for every 200 intelligent people there is out therew there is always oh lets say 3 idiots

  • @lonebuck I see what you did there.

  • 3 people didn't change their state of mind

  • Love it love it LOVE IT!!

  • Don't those sexy, weepy eyes of his get ya goin'

  • great song has any body put up a video for no time to kill

  • this is what made me want to play country music....

  • country today sounds like a bunch of gay rods singing sugar plum faries

  • Clint hit #2 in Billboard, 2-5-94. Note to US99's Marci Braun: c'mon and readd this song to the library. God bless!

  • He is classified as a "pop" artist? wow, I don't think so lol.. I've loved this guy for years! Not literally, just his music! Still one of the best! I agree, I prefer the old country to the new style.. There are a few good artists of today, but not like there used to be.

  • @SharlaKelly Agreed, we really need a revival of traditional country!

  • 1 Well turn off the radio when they play the "new" country. 2 Request old songs. 3 don't buy your kids downloads or cd's of these new " artists" . 4. SUPPORT HONKY TONK BANDS. THERE ARE STILL REALLY GOOD TRUE COUNTRY MUSIC MUSICIANS EVERYWHERE.

  • can't get better than this!!!! miss this kind of country...

  • all good country music slowly died in the late 90s

  • @nick9saints you know it.

  • great song, even if he is just a pop artist

  • HE'S STILL ALIVE AND HE'S GOD!!!!

  • good song .. unfortunately these days you don't get on the radio unless you are processed cheese

  • I'm just now discovering Clint Black. His songs are great, and reflect a man who is really familiar with life.

  • just saw him yesterday in concert front row

  • Slowed down to spend time with his family if i remember hearing correctly on CMT one day.

  • if it wasnt for Garth Brooks stupidity trying Capitalism on country music and forced Clint off of Radio who knows how many hits Clint would have by now

  • LOVE this song, such good lyrics

  • such a good song!!! <3

  • Miss this kinda country, so much better than these makeup wearin, aint never had to get dirty pussies, that call themself country now. LONG LIVE COWBOY

  • "I been down a time or two but it didn't last long. I can always make it through on a wing and a prayer and a song."

    Great line.

  • I just saw him in concert 2 weeks ago. He sang this song, it was great!

  • 1:28 "Teach a nigga right from wrong" lol just jkin

  • Clint Black's best song

  • On the album version, he plays a harmonica intro to this- it's the best solo harmonica I've ever heard. Really, it's so damn cool.

  • Does clint have any american indian ancestory in him just curious.

  • I forgot to tell you guyys who do not like him something. I do not want to argue, like I said keep your comment and opinion to yourself and it is just smooth sailing from here.

  • This is my first time hearing this song, and hearing this singer and I like him. He is really good. All you people who do not like him, I honeslty do not care about your opinion, keep your mouth and comment to yourself. I like him now. He is a really good singer.

  • I heard this song one year turkey huntin and now every time i hear it it brings back memories of turkey huntin with my dad in April in Northeast Iowa

  • My truck broke down and I had to walk to work for a couple of days till I fixed it. It was just a couple of miles but for some reason this song would always end up in my head as I was walking and it wouldn't seem so bad.

  • def one of the best songs out there

  • One of his best. Keep rocking Brother Clint. Always a fan.

    jas patrick

  • He is a great singer!

  • that a country song that new stuff is crap

  • I agree the new stuff sucks!

  • @hunterforlife91 I agree 100%. I hate the redneck new garbage!

  • A spectacular song, one of my favorites.

  • god i miss clint black..

  • @patrickstar105. Did he pass away or is he retired?

  • No, he's still alive and doing music. He was actually on tour not too long ago, not sure if that particular tour is over yet or not. Still releasing new material as well.

  • @limpnjen

He is still on Tour and is on Tour until the end of the year!

I just saw him in Mount Pleasant, MI, and he is amazing!!

  • @MrDragontamer2009 -- He also was in Flicka 2 :)

  • @MrDragontamer2009 he has a new song out now called "She Won't Be Lonley Now" its a really good song

  • @MrDragontamer2009 no if i remeber reading correctly he took time off to spend with his family. my memory could be failing me though.

  • Aint nottin like a good fiddle

  • Comment removed

  • @limpnjen Could you upload the whole video sometime? I mean, the harmonica solo/intro is the best part!!!

  • This song really hits home for me

  • i love that fiddle in this song.

  • Clint is one of my heroes

  • Thats real Country Music !!!!

  • i like country music so much

  • One of my all time Favs!

  • best country music, it should be like this all the time.

  • i agree with you on that.

  • I agree, "country" music today sucks. I saw Clint Black live, he was totally awesome....best live performer I've ever seen. He sang all his classics and told lots of great stories. He is actually a really good actor, and does great impersonations. His impersonation of Willie Nelson was dead-on and so funny.

  • :( I miss the way country used to be. It's fucking sad how it's nothing but pop music now.

  • i know i wouldn't care if they got rid of 95% of this new country "music"

  • Amen..

  • that fiddle is beautiful

  • amazing

  • great song....country music sucks ass now

  • it int country nomore itspop now great artist like clint black dont existanymore

  • @jay07ag country music is beein invaded by fags and niggers.

  • OMG I totally forgot about this song, and how much I love Clint Black. loveit

  • Hell no they dont play fiddles, harmonicas, the old acoustic, its all based on electric guitars and isnt actual country..Country nowa days is not country its rock/country wich pisses me the fcuk off no joke..But I love 70's and 80's rock electric guitars then but its the best rock just like this kind of country is the best ya dig

  • this is real country!

  • i met ole clint down in mcalester ok. nice guy he was just starting out and singing down at the club there. god i miss the ole days. great song

  • do they even play a fiddle like that in todays country music? seems like all i hear on the radio is a bunch of party songs.... cant even call it country so i just go to Pandora or youtube for the good stuff.

This song though... well i remember when it was new and like he says.. aint it funny how a melody brings back the memories.

  • This song is fucking awesome !!!!!!!!

  • Hi just wanted to say Terri Clark has a new album out this September! It's called The Long Way Home. 11 real country songs!!!

  • this song to me brings back the memory of old days and how much fun it was, nowadays, you cant even go outside without worrying if your gonna get shot at

  • great song i love the tempo you can't help but tap your foot to this song

  • i love this song!

  • I miss clint Black being in the spotlight

  • love this song but it needs the harmonica solo at the beginin

  • Clint Black vs. Alan Jackson =

    Clint WINS

  • Woah there, no way

  • Maybe not in popularity but in artistry he does. His way of producing his own records along with his sense of what a song needs is impressive. I respect Alan but if it wasn't for his voice, he doesn't have much going for him.....and I am an Alan fan as well.

  • Doesn't get much better than this...

  • without words!!!

  • Alan Jackson vs Clint Black would be a great battle.

  • Comment removed

  • And people wonder why I love country music.

  • Agreed.. The full version of the song is wonderful... and I love this video too...

When Im old I hope I can dance around too. lol

  • oh ya the full version with the harmonica at the beginning is great

  • Good!

  • classic tune

  • how bout the words the words are so true.

  • I haven't read all of the previous comments but that's my boy Aubrey Haynie on fiddle at the end.....he also played the fiddle on"Ain't nothing wrong with the radio"....Armwood High 1992...I hope he's still kickin the country scene....definitely talented...His album, A Man Must Carry On, has a song called "Thonotosassa"...my hometown, biatch

  • i remember around when he came out with his good songs like this, now we got pop country, horrible, i cant even listen to the radio anymore, just wanna hear some good classic country like this more

  • 1:59 - 2:07

  • *crys* litterally, This song, and his "Like the Rain" bring back such great childhood memorys of mine. You never realize that you cant get time back until you actually remember how great your life was.

  • what happend too tha country music we use to have now days the music what the call country is shit

  • i love these old two-step songs, not this complicated kieth urban crap

  • @cledus211 now all they sing about is bein country, why the hell dont they just sing the country way instead of talking about how country they are

  • @cledus211 I remember this song from high scool. this is how songs should be

  • Happy Birthday Clint Black (2/4)!!!

  • well, that sounds like country!

  • Very rarely a vilin in country music

    Thanks

  • So many memories. I remember when he played this on David Letterman. I wish I could find the clip.

  • You dont spill beer on an violin!!

  • I do believe its moonshine

  • you guys even know the difference between a fiddle and a violin?

  • No, teach me a lesson..

    What's the difference?

  • i dont actually. is it kinda like the difference between a trumpet and a cornet?

  • can you people notice the lovely way when he pronounces the letter (I) soooo unique Clint Black!! :-)

  • Clint Black is awesome!

  • This violin player is outstanding.

  • fiddle dumbass

  • lol... *shakes head*

  • why do you americans always dis each other..

  • Americans dis each other because "respect" is dead. Nobody has respect for anyone or anything anymore. It's a total narcissistic society - MY opinion - MY time - screw everyone else. It's pretty pathetic, actually. MySpace, YouTube, FaceBook - everything is about establishing a presence, virtually as it is.
