i had this when i was 14...so literally when i started having my period. it go sooo bad that it made me black out and throw up. my legs from my waist down got numb. i ate midol and ibuprophen like candy. i wasn't introduced to vicodin until i was 23. vicodin and a glass of wine did the trick. it killed the pain and i passed out! but...it did the job! i'm 30 now and still have it.
Wow this is great. I thought I was crazy, ever since I got my period the pain was so bad I was sent home from school because I was shaking and had nausea and vomiting, but no doctor ever mentioned this. When I started researching more I told the docs that I thought I could have it and they always said "no, no, you are too healthy" but I finally had a laparoscopy done for fertility questions and sure enough they found it. Sucks now I am 27 to find out what it was.
I wonder if it is worse for women that are overweight? I don't remember having pain like this in my 20s and now that I'm 50-60 pounds overweight and in my mid- 30s' (So many changes in my 30s), I'm thinking my weight is contributing to the pain.
@TheTelesha, well that is a good thing to learn. I have it now - I was told that I have it back in 2006 when I was 30-31. I didn't have the pain in my early 20s like I do now.
I'm 14 and have been told it's very likley that I have endometriosis. It's kinda dumb but I have been doing so much research on it and it's scaring me. I have always wanted kids and it upsets me that that might be taken away. Anyone on here diagnosed as a teen?if so please tell me how you delt with it. I'm very scared to undergo surgery which will probally happen within the next year. Please any advice would help. I'm scared and am looking for answers. Thanks in advance for any answers!!
although ive been suffereing since i started my period at age 10 luckly i was diagnosed early at 17. i am now 19 and this disease is hell! at first i was excited to have it becuase i dont want kids and i knew this would have it harder but i didnt know dealing with this on a daily basis is torture. we need a cure!!!
I'm 28 I had my laparoscopy about a year ago- my symptoms where gone after that, but they are back! I got married at 15 and since then I've suffered from Endometriosis! I didn't know what it was but having SEX was painful my Uteros felt swollen and my periods where horrible! 7 days of torture! I now have 2 daughters I don't want more kids! But before this 2 I had 3 miscarriages it's horrible! My doc discovered that by putting you on menopause will relieve ur symptoms! That how they know it's E
im mad b/c iv had this mess since preteens and NO doctor ever diagnosed me or suggested it as a cause for my pain and constant fatigue. cramps so bad i couldnt go to school or had to go home hands shaking nausea all of it. that wasn't 'normal'. had 2 children completely natural b/c the labor wasn't much worse than my periods! im blessed iv had my 2 children young b/c i didn't want anymore anyway. im going to the doc asap. this fatigue is just too too much
Just been diagnosed with Endo, due a laparoscomy soon to laser cysts and check to see how bad the Endo is. My Gynacologist says there's a good chance I might need a Hysterectomy. Had problems with my pelvis since I gave birth to my Son, and had SPD too. Seemed to disappear when I had my daughter, but is now back again. My womb has 'moved' and is in the wrong place apparently. I think I'll opt for the Hysterectomy if asked. You live your life with pain and get used to it I think.
im only 20 yrs old and i have it already its nothing cancerous its really painfull tho but i also had an orvarian cyst (sorry if i spelt that wrong) any way my dotor said that i have it at a very serious stage and im lucky i cought it when i did, but for all the girls out there that have it at my age message me and i can tell u my story, i was also put on a birthcontroll too try and help lessen my endomtryosis instead of being put into meanapouse right away :/
@jesterdustin what are you doing about it? i had the laparoscopy and my doctor found some on my right side under my uterus. he put me back on the pill, but i haven't had a period since the surgery.
@MissMaddy881 i just had my laparoscopy about a week ago now and i havent descussed yet with my doctor what the plan is :( hopefully i can still have another kid :(
I had endometriosis when me and my husband try for 5 yrs and finally had agirl then about 5 yrs later had a son i thought i would never have a baby but provide doctors wrong. But i worry my daughter might i have problems getting pregnant when she gets older since i had it.
@90sKidSarah Well im 18 and im having tests? if i were you, i'd try and push for them. just because you're young doesnt mean you cant have it, im an 18 year old girl who was diagnosed with barretts oesophagus aged 17 - when the general age range for the condition is people over 50 (or men, overweight people /smokers) of which i am none.
I just opened a channel for current events and medical issues and endo was the first topic I covered. This season I have a good line up of issues. Thanks for the good video and information

i really want to answer every comment on here, but video's like theses are fantastic for all women going through this condition.
i myself was used as a case study at UCL Hospital in london for the severeness of my endometriosis.

its caused by a tilted uterus, if they suture it back in the correct position, the way its supposed to be, it will end the retrograde menstruation

If this is helpful, I do know that some of the birth control I used for a while helped with the pain for some of the years.

Does it stop when you have the menopause? If you have a hysterectomy does it stop for good?

Umm i'm the same as zombiesailor27, i got told i am too young to have endometriosis as i'm 16 so they will therefore not do tests
