Love Harrison's bluesy, unusually salty playing on this one. He put down the silky slide and just got down to it on his geetar. Very cool. Robby Ford plays some tasty background stuff too. Cool.
I saw George on the 1974 tour Nov 25th(Thanksgiving day) in Atlanta Ga. I seen more concerts in my 55 years than most people. No matter what anyone says that was the best concert I've ever seen. Not many people were able to see George in concert. He'll never be replaced.
@marycreeves You make an intersting and profound point.."Not many people were able to see George in concert." I was one of those even though me and my friends had tickets in 1974 for the Cleveland show..It was snowed out!..In my 57 years I have seen many, many shows..The best one I've ever seen..Roxy Music 1979, Cleveland..Bryan Ferry, was at the peak of his powers..
Yes Yoko didn't break up the band + you was right bout Paul... But this is my opinion i heard this from George harrisons tapes he had recorded about Paul. He said they had to break up to not deal with maxwell ( British intelligence) and to forget anything that has to do with Pauls death
@MrSprintie You do know those tapes are fake right? It's an American actor doing a Liverpool accent, it was made for a movie. I've seen some of it and it's obviously fake. I read a review of it somewhere and apparently it ends with Eleanor Rigby (who was the metre maid that caused the crash) being given a new identity...Heather Mills. They also claim Paul died in late 1966 but they point out a bunch of clues that pre-date that. Sir Paul McCartney lives on...as does Ringo.
@NeonChimpAustralia I thought it was Lovely Rita that caused the crash, lol either way obviously its all bs. I can't see George, John, and Ringo be so insensitive as to write songs giving clues about the death of their band mate and close friend. Then 2 replace him with a complete stranger who can play just as good as Paul, sing just as good as Paul, also left handed, and can write songs just as good as Paul, and go on acting like he never died Face it the clues were the Beatles feeding trolls
George Harrison died of cancer: the chronic metabolic disease that has grown into the biggest hoax ever perpetrated upon the people of Earth, surpassing the carnage of war, earthquakes & car crashes.
I love this & I must say that George, after all that happened, still had a soft spot for the beatles. Hence his tribute to John even before he passed away kind of like a nod to his old bandmate & the fact that he says "god bless John,Paul,George & Ringo" says it all. All four have become icons in their own right that it's unbelievable sometimes that they were in the same band at one point.
Everyone blames yoko 4 beatles break-up ;But Paul was the one who after epestein Took as group leader singing funny granny songs like Hello Goodbye, when i 64,honey pie & several on White Albums while George Guitar gently weeps ,Getting Lennon frustrated; & Harrison not enough space. On Last recorded album Abbey Road George Songs are Highlights ,Paul again does childish stuff like Maxvel silver hammer .
"'special guests' which I thought made it a bit more interesting and helped illistrate the song a bit better than just the performance footage on its own", the song is beautiful, no matter his voice!! :') and i love those special guests so much that i agree that it was nice putting them here, lovely video!
"In My Life I Love God More" at 3:20 Hare Krsna! Thank you so much for this. This is the first time I have heard these shows. He was so much into it and Ecstatic!

George could really lay down some searing bluesy leads when he wanted to, this recording shows it. I sure wish he would have done it more often...

Interesting take. I've always hated some of the corny shit Paul wrote. Maxwell's Silver Hammer is one of them.

I sure wish they would release the Dark Horse tour footage! The shows were wonderful inspite of his hoarse voice! :-)

Wolfgang's Vault had audio of this song from a Los Angeles show.
A lot of talk was made about his voice being shot through this tour but I think it sounds just fine. I like it.
I like this better than the Live in Japan discs that sounded just like the studio versions. And the Concert for Bangladesh albums for that matter.
