Work it, Roy! I've heard many imitations of Treat Her Right from others, but nobody could ever do it better than Roy. Back in the day in San Antonio, Roy's somersaults and leg gyrations were a marvel to behold at his live shows. ♥Love you, Roy!♥
I saw that little horn riff would fit at the end of the song. We didn't do it before that; it was my suggestion. Turned out it was a good lick. I was aware of the Kinks' "You Really Got Me," and I liked their other songs, but it's much more likely I got it from the Ajax ["stronger than dirt"] commercial than the Kinks.

Gene Kurtz who co-wrote this song said this.

Roy Head saw James Brown and said "I'll try that to the best of my limited ability".

Roy was NOT the white James Brown. That's absurd. James Brown had about a billion hits, you shmuck.

Roy Head: one in a million. Man, can that guy get down! What a pick-me-up! No one has been able to top his version of "Treat Her Right".

Roy definitely had the energy with that song, remember the Hullaballo and Shindig appearances. Good to see he still has it
