Classy song ! 1992 ? I haven't then even dreamed of studying..i recognize this song being often played on MTV. I wonder what has happened to nowadays music ? Appears like todays artist are being off with their invention while they're doing nothing but keep covering superb tracks back from the 80's and the 90's .
I remember this when life was easy; there was always yesterday to do everything, all seemed free and easy. We weren't being watched by big brother, not prostitutes to the government tax pimp! Or being subjugated to political ideologies! Now we're broke, Taxed into povety; Proles to the new world order!
I like all sorts of music from classical to jazz to pop to hard rock to dance and even the odd bit of country and opera here and there (don't tell anyone)!
However from about 2005 onwards I find the music scene mainly uninspiring... depressing even. Fortunately there's a century plus of excellence behind it to fall back on.
Im happy i grew up watching the Chart show on ITV every saturday lunchtime, so too with listening to the Shamen rather then rapstars copying old tracks & mixing them up, speeding them & slowing them down etc

@Admos2000 80's-90's where the best time to grow up... seriously Lady Gaga... common the music back in the 90's had a soul and the world danced to the music... now its like... meh everyones kinda depressed and gloomy
@Admos2000 Today's artists seem be about to run out of their invention while covering the same song for a 100th time, methinks . I grew up in the late 80's and then a real music has been created. It is incomparable with what is being done nowadays.
@JOEISWELLGAY Joe, No comparison at all. I like The Shamen and I also like Gaga's work. What I am just saying is that she did not greatly innovate at all. If you compare the PHOTOGRAPHY of both this video and JUST DANCE you can see that they PHOTOGRAPHICALLY LOOK ALIKE. Also, she copied some videos and concepts from Madonna (Alejandro) and the 80's as she herself stated. I don't mean to depreciate one in favour of other because both have their value. Nikiforos
lady gaga wouldn't exist without bands like the shamen who redifined & inspired future generations of dance & related genres. More original + audacious/outrageous at a time when the industry was more starchy & controlled. She performs well but her image, music & style is so influenced by what madonna was doing a decade & more prior. Lyddon said the Pistols wouldn't have existed without The Beatles or Hawkwind. Gaga wouldn't be doing what she is now if "madge" hadn't been around to show the way
@Cardiff7235 I'm 35 now and was brought up with the Shamen, they are pretty much my favourite band of my youth. But, I know people ten years older than me who were part of the original rave scene and they did consider this pop music.
Irrespective of whether they are rave or pop, surely the point is that whatever label you put on them they are still awesome.
@selaco12347 : I don't need a patronising lecture thanks but, you seem to think that you were the only one to know people 10 years older in the 'rave scene'! @Richardheslop - good work on this one fella. I suspect we may know (have known) the same people at one point in the dim distant past.
Anyway, a great tune which still captures the vibe of both The Shaman at that point, and much of the dance scene. They were panned in many sections of the dance community - as were most who ended up in the charts - but I think it was unfair of the Raver Snobs.
hahahahaha well this video has got 2 ex girlfriends in...and ones the mother of my children !!.....we shot this one in an abandoned swimming pool in london...which mr c said he used to swim in ...along time ago....i shot and directed it...we used some footage i shot in new york as well including some sunset shots from the top of the world trade centre...im still not sure what the songs about...but i love the energy...happy happy joy joy.... richard heslop 2010
@richardheslop - this is possibly my favourite Shamen video - I love the totally mad eclectic imagery. Did you do Boss Drum and Ebeneezer Goode as well?
@unclestoostoo i did do boss drum and ezzer goode.....i still think boss drums the best of them....its got many of my fav things in such as smashed interiors and dark burning energy....with light as well of course...glad you like ..chears..
Fcuk, I miss the 90's so much. The music was cutting edge and original. I find it hard to beleive that is now 2010 and this tune is bloddy 17 years old...!!!! How did that happen ??????
Shamen, Prodigy, Cappella, I could go on and on. Has anyone noticed how a lot of this stuff is now being sampled into so called dance music today. 1993 I was 21 and it was the best time of my life..............
Oh god, I miss the 90's. I miss them so, so much. Such a happy, go-lucky decade. Alright...that might've been because everyone was mashed on pills but it still had such a good vibe.

Because the future is now,
And phorever is here
Within visions of truth, imagination is clear
So go forth with experimentation
Technology for the future generation
Add knowing insight and mystical might
Phorever people still doing it right

niestety - po 20 latach pozostaje tylko new age'owa utopia. the shamen byli jej prawdziwymi propagatorami. piekne czasy ultraswiezej muzyki.
