@GLICIOUS21 a 94-98 Mustang GT stock is AT BEST a 15 second car. Many of the autos run closer to 15.5. It's actually pretty damn slow. However, a 92 Accord is more like a 17 second car, so I'm a little confused how you stayed close even to that turd of a Mustang GT.

Well this must b staged or that's just a crappy mustang cause I got a 98 gt convertible which is heavier than a normal mustang my car has over 200 thousand miles and I have destroyed acuras from dead stop to being on the highway not saying u can't have a fast acura but when stock the gt will destroy the acura and I would actually know I had a acura that was supposed to b awesome fast which cost 20 grand I drove it two days and took it back and went and got myself a nice mustang for 1500 bucks
Actually my boy had a 99 Mustang V6 with a diablo tune and 70mm throttlebody and it went faster then 120 the limiters on almost all gt mustangs made is either 145 or 150 lol
@markespo1 erhmmm. Well don't knock on v6's man. My home made modded v6 was just as fast as my b18c5 eg. Also traction is limited with a gt on stock 245 45r17 tires so a gt with stock 16s is just a disaster waiting to happen. With those 16s traction would be so bad that a geo metro should be able to pull on that gt from a stop. Might aswell slab some oil on the tires cause its just as bad.
99-04 v8 mustang's with 16 inch rims were governed @ 120 mph. idk why the owners were so cheap and didnt want the 17s. my automatic gt murders b18c1/5 integra's. and ive been 145 mph.

I agree. Compare the number of cars breaking into sub 10s in the 1/4 mile. You see that the V8 to I4 ratio is very uneven. It takes a lot more to get 4 cylinders that quick. More cash, work, and time. And if you put that amount of cash and work into a V8 instead of a I4 you're almost always guaranteed to get a quicker ride.

Part of the reason hondas weigh less is becasue they have smaller engines. The Si's are horrible cars for what they are, for 3k more you can buy a Mazdaspeed3 or a Cobalt ss both of which make around 70 more horsepower and you dont get labeled a ricer.

Actually they make less torque because they make their peak power at an extremely high RPM. They have to wind out the engine to 9k rpms to make that power. Try launching a S2000 at anything less than 7000 and you will get dusted by a kid on a Schwinn. Hp/litre is just an excuse used for some form of superiority. Go to a road race, rally event, drag race and you will see that the big money cars are all V8s. Hell the V8 cars have even stormed drifting that the JDM cars thought was just theirs

it had a b18c5 type r block and head swaped into a 92 gs integra had the block bored to a 1,986 making it almost a 2.0 being sleeved forged pistons chromoly rods skunk 2 stage 4 cam shafts stage 4 clutch 1,000 cc injectors t3/t4 greddy turbo kit boost 18 psi high rev valve springs so much more ran high 9's low 10's beat every gt/svt I ever faced but consider how much was in that car a gt/svt runs what guys ( somewhere in the 13's maybe lower factory ) sorry!!! nothing beats cubic inch
and I also own an integra 1996 integra with a b18b1 block with a b16 vtec head cold air intake cat-back exhaust aem fuel rail bigger injectors and stage 3 clutch kit and don't get me wrong here but I beat v6 stangs all day long like pintos but on the other hand I can only hang with a gt/svt/cobra till about 3rd gear and then it will always pull on me now anything over a hundred I can slightly hang with them but not for long now my last integra gsr totally different story
just to throw a comment my father n law is a mustang/svt specialist has been for for 10 plus years at ford motor company he personally let me see on dyno every v6 mustang ever made shuts off at 115 even no more no less and gt's do not have a govern on them but they do happen to have a rev. limit on every one and they can only max at 150-155 unless some modifications have been done to them now an svt and gt500 personally drove both new models do not and I had both to 160 and backed off due to cop
well have you ever heard of a speedometer being off I also have a 94 eclipse when the speedometer says I'm doing 85 I really only doing 75 give or take speedometer get off by chaning things your buddy's stang did not hit 120 maybe by what the gauge said but he was not going that fast on wheel travel all the ones I have drove are 2005 or newer and done from a dealership and now offense to your friend but I would take a svt specialist words over a street racer
i owned a 98 gt and i know they govern at 120, but the 99+ im not sure. My 93 lincoln governs at 140 with the 4.6 DOHC V8. It all just depends. I know a lot of guys whos mustangs seemed to have snuk by and didnt have a governor put on them.

I agree. Compare the number of cars breaking into sub 10s in the 1/4 mile. You see that the V8 to I4 ratio is very uneven. It takes a lot more to get 4 cylinders that quick. More cash, work, and time. And if you put that amount of cash and work into a V8 instead of a I4 you're almost always guaranteed to get a quicker ride.

I brought up the stock turbo cars because they are in the same price range, why buy an n/a 4 cyl when you could get a turbo one? Nearly 90% of 4cyl cars need force induction to make good hp, with the exception of a few. Slap a k pro kit on it? You could spend the same amount of cash on parts for the SS or ms3 and still have a greater car. I have two friends with ms3's and never once have they been called ricers while stomping r/t chargers or gt mustangs.

Actually they make less torque because they make their peak power at an extremely high RPM. They have to wind out the engine to 9k rpms to make that power. Try launching a S2000 at anything less than 7000 and you will get dusted by a kid on a Schwinn. Hp/litre is just an excuse used for some form of superiority. Go to a road race, rally event, drag race and you will see that the big money cars are all V8s. Hell the V8 cars have even stormed drifting that the JDM cars thought was just theirs

it had a b18c5 type r block and head swaped into a 92 gs integra had the block bored to a 1,986 making it almost a 2.0 being sleeved forged pistons chromoly rods skunk 2 stage 4 cam shafts stage 4 clutch 1,000 cc injectors t3/t4 greddy turbo kit boost 18 psi high rev valve springs so much more ran high 9's low 10's beat every gt/svt I ever faced but consider how much was in that car a gt/svt runs what guys ( somewhere in the 13's maybe lower factory ) sorry!!! nothing beats cubic inch

and I also own an integra 1996 integra with a b18b1 block with a b16 vtec head cold air intake cat-back exhaust aem fuel rail bigger injectors and stage 3 clutch kit and don't get me wrong here but I beat v6 stangs all day long like pintos but on the other hand I can only hang with a gt/svt/cobra till about 3rd gear and then it will always pull on me now anything over a hundred I can slightly hang with them but not for long now my last integra gsr totally different story

i owned a 98 gt and i know they govern at 120, but the 99+ im not sure. My 93 lincoln governs at 140 with the 4.6 DOHC V8. It all just depends. I know a lot of guys whos mustangs seemed to have snuk by and didnt have a governor put on them.

a 99 and a 00 are the same model, same engine, and same tranny so i am pritty sure they do about the same speed dick. and i only mentiond mine to make a comparison. and it could very well be a 99 gt im just saying it dosent top out at 120.

There is a top speed limiter on some cars but...a GT isn't limited to 120 from my expiriences.

i agree, I've had my 98 well past 120, probably around 140ish and it still had a lot more to go. I'll race that integra in my bone stock mustang gt and murder it.

i have a 00 gt that tops a 145 there is no way your 99 can top at 120, less its a v6.

i raced one of those integras in my 98 gt and i owned him even though he had a nice head start. so u need to learn how to race buddy.
