Microsoft cannot buy GNU/Linux. They can only disrupt and perhaps delay the inevitable for a time. Web services (aka "the cloud") is dominated, and will remain dominated, by powerful competitors who are using mainly GNU/Linux.
Any attempts by Microsoft to tie web services to their own platform and stifle competition by abusing its monopoly on the desktop (and it will be tempted to becauase that monopoly is weakening) will come under legal scrutiny.
midori haha, of course without hardware and how to access the system...microsoft is allready fucked, fucked well in theyr ass, they know why, mister gates, take an apple;)
Vista has at least two processes that I've seen that regularly send information (the user does not know what), to two different Microsoft server addresses.
if you listened to what I said at the start of the video you would know that I said they are not putting an end to it for now but in the next 5-10 years they are going to stop developing it and replace with the program they have in the works right now "Midori"
Ha, they might be ending XP officially, but piratebay will keep it for many years to come. Until hardware makers stop supporting it. And that's where AMD comes in, they have open sourced their drivers.
I think it would be stupid to cut off Windows. A lot. Its a reliable and simple system. I think a lot of customers will be unhappy if they were to change the basics of Windows.
it seems like they are going to change it though I was thinking the same thing as you but when you read up on it abit more you realise that they are going to have to do it sooner or later
Okay... You're an idiot... Saying that Midori is going to be the "end of Windows" is like saying that it ended with 7... Wow...

It's over a year on, and Windows appears to have as brighter future as it always has. No end in sight for Windows yet.
Microsoft won't be buying any competition off. They wont be buying Apple, and it's impossible to buy and have total control of Linux.
