What if you cant run cmd? Most viruses dont let you run anything. Shut off your wireless connection first. Inhabilitates the virus and you wont affect any other computers on the network. Ive removed a virus before, (btw: im 13) and surprisingly once you calm down and think, your good. You will ultimatly decide how you wil handle it and you will know what to do.

mine does not have the unusual.exe file. old folders that i have deleted appeared in my thumb drive. also there is a folder called xsoa33s which has all tat folders inside it too.

If that's your problem you could have another cmd.exe file on your USB stick, name it to something like winiglepe.exe and copy it to system32. I suggest you name the new CMD to something random so that the admin won't detect it.

Get a load of this mate, there r heaps techniques to program viruses and malwares so that they won't be detected by any mofo anti-virus or whatever software. They r kinda like tarps not 100% protection. Why can't the bloody government make a free antivirus software and give it to people?

@funnyuday This does work, but only on a particular virus type, this would be one that spreads onto a USB thumb drive for example and attempts to run itself once you plug it in (hence autorun.ini) so this would work to remove it. Its an easy virus to remove to begin with.

pagefile.sys is the index your computer uses for swapping applications into and out of Virtual Memory. In short, that file is your Virtual Memory controller. Thank your lucky stars that you got an idiotproof warning thrown at you before you crippled your system.

NEVER delete a file or folder if you don't know what it is without researching it first. Google is your best friend when it comes to troubleshooting system files and computer errors.
