hey ive noticed that the interiors of these vans are different from van to van. for examply the placement of the little fridge and the sink stand and spare storage compartments. can anyone tell me why that is? and perhaps if its easy to change them around?
@Super1969Bee The interior layout changed across the model years. 68-73 had the pop-top hinged front and the sink behind the passenger. In 74 the top was changed to hinge at the back , the sink was behind the driver and the stove/cooler is behind the passenger, 1975 is the same way. In 1976-1979 the interior changed to have everything behind the driver in a line of cabinets. You can exchange interiors easily but swapping tops is more difficult because the roof openings changed sized.
Hey Man, great looking bus. two questions ur make that three. ive got a 73 a what engine to you have and how good of gas millage does it get. Also thats the orange im going to have so what the name of the orange.
hey! es muy bonita, tengo la version 74 westfalia, pero me faltan demasiados accesorios, el color esta chido, espero compartir una foto. saludos en gdl mx
I have a `73 as well, that`s also in awesome shape like yours. All original interior, including the floor, in great shape. I have the pop-top bunk and the original bunk that spans the front seats, and the original mosquito screen that covers the back door hatch so I can leave it open on warm nights. Zero rust on the frame and rockers, but surface rust on the body, so it could use a coat of paint.
I`m right there with you in the VW heaven, Joe. I hope you covet yours as much as I do mine. :)
I'm a 20 year old anachronism, and man, I've been dreaming about a Westy like these... I'd give my left arm to hit the road in a 73 or similar vintage! I hope one day i can love one like you love yours!
Damn dude. That's my ride except I've got a hi top. Identical interior. Identical everything right down to the knobs and the sink. Beautiful bus and parked right where it should be...on the beach. Thanks for sharing.
My military family was stationed in Naples Italy from 1976-80 and we put a ton of miles on our 72 westy! I couldn't begin to list all the awesome places that old VW took us as we took trips all over Europe.
excellent, was everything original ?

Where was your video shot? I'd love to make out that way. We travel/live PT in our 71 Westfalia van. The beach is always our favorite destination.

WOW! What a beauty! Is your Westy original or restored?
I'm trying to restore my '78 Westy. Long way to go but I hope she looks like this one day.
Cheers,
Mike
