James Tyer was a veteran animator, who worked at Van Beuren Studios in the '30s, Paramount's Famous Studios in the mid-'40s, Terrytoons in the late' 40s through the early '60s, freelancing for Joe Oriolo's "FELIX THE CAT" TV cartoons, Seymour Kneitel at Paramount Cartoon Studios on several "Snuffy Smith" cartoons for King Features Television, and Hal Seeger's "Stuffy Derma" episodes for 'MILTON THE MONSTER" in the '60s. You can tell a Tyer scene by his loose, exaggerated movements..
This. Was. AWESOME! I have never seen such inventive, vitality filled animation!
The only letdown was the stuff Jim Tyer did for Famous. It feels so watered down compared to his TerryToons stuff.
