@TheDieselDr I don't remember the type of supercharger ever mattering unless you don't know how to make it work? It's not like he has a leaf blower motor feeding the intake........
@AmoralEngineer I really don't have time to go into detail with you about why centrifugal superchargers don't work that well on diesels.
>> but 10 points to you for recognizing a leaf blower as such a device..
detroit diesel uses a roots type and there is a reason for this.
think ' positive displacement" there is a video on yt of a 6.5 GM using a supercharger and guess what it wasn't a "leaf blower' type it was of the lysholm type..... ass
@TheDieselDr hello - I'm not sure if maybe you've confused the turbochargers with the blower, but this truck *does* in fact use the very efficient twin-screw (Lysholm) type supercharger. In addition it has two turbochargers, one for each cylinder bank, charging into the SC. Those do look kinda like centrifugal superchargers with a quick glance in the engine bay, especially if you see only one side. There's a nice article on this one in Diesel Power Magazine, just google Blowermax.
Do you guys think that the EPA will mandate ALL future diesels be built like this one in production due to the high performance and clean emmissions it displays?
@lanceg81 at least its somthing different dude....i hate round here every ones either got twin chrome stacks,or one single short flat black off set stack...
@lanceg81, only if you knew.. the stacks are on a track. its a true sleeper, the exhaust can be routed through the stacks for truck pulls, drag races ect. or out the factory exhaust for a quieter ride...
the stacks may not look the greatest but they sound amazing! everyone has there own preferece

Wheres the black smoke???
1DieselFuelOnly1 2 years ago
@1DieselFuelOnly1 a motor takes 12.5 pounds of air per one pound of fuel. smoke is the result of not enough air.... this motor has enough air.
