many people commenting about living without sin as fruit, but we are all sinners. the fruit is not sinlessness, or Jesus died for nothing. The fruit is loving God and your neighbour. How can people see you love God? If you love your neighbour.
I watched a few of the videos on this guy and then I watched your video and thought about it rationally for a while, I think you're absolutely correct and it's also very cool to see someone who definitely knows scripture and definitely knows to pick something out when it's wrong so nice job :)
Praise God read about these 4 men (Philip in Acts chap 8) (Ananias in Acts 22:12-16) (Paul in Acts Chap 16) (Peter in Acts 2:38; 10:48 )
Notice these 4 in their initial sermon to unbelievers urged immediate baptism on acceptance of the Gospel. The gospel has not changed in 2000yrs.
these 4 were obeying Mat 28:19 (and) Mark 16:15,16 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
If people understood the reasons for baptism there would be no hesitation. Baptism into Jesus name remits all sin. Read Romans 6. Adam caused us all to be borm under the curse of DEATH. Through Christ we are converted, regenerated & born again unto LIFE. We are then in His family, his body, the Church, we are the Elect, joint-heirs with Christ & more. Without Christ there is no hope and no Life in you. The Holy Ghost is a gift/the promise from the Father at our baptism. He now know us.
Well after one of those kooky things known as an investigation, I have not been able to find any teachings on the internet from Mr. Washer about water baptism. Nice vid.
@tonoklein Yeah same here, I also did a search before making this video and came up zero on Paul Washer on baptism.
Most Paul Washer supporters have no idea the difference between his gospel and the true men of God. It is a blessing to have a comment by someone who is not ignorant.
Q1 Baptism makes a true convert one with the deat ( and resurrection) of Jesus Christ. Because the convert believes and repents, he accepts the free atonement sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Q2 Baptism was administered immediately and taught in the bible.
So here is my reaction. Paul Washer is a baptist , so he practices baptism for true converts. I believe in this he is right. A big problem are the baptized persons that were never converted, or were never born again,
@Internetsearcher "Paul Washer is a baptist , so he practices baptism for true converts."
That is not scriptural! Who determines a true convert PW? See you have already changed your answer to Q2. There was no probationary period in the Bible!
You said "A big problem are the baptized persons that were never converted, or were never born again, " No wisdom in this statement. You should not have added your personal opinions. Just adhere to the scriptures. This video is truth
@Job32x11 the scriptures would agree with his wisdom. He who died to sin cannot live in it any longer. this is not wishful thinking on Paul's part it is a fact. so when you see someone who has made a profession of faith and been baptized, living in outright sin it is not an opinion it is a reality. i have listened mr. Washer at great length and his issue with baptism is really an issue with "salvation" a real regeneration should precede a real baptism.
@Internetsearcher There are many preachers out there who do not think/believe in water baptism and i bet they are not baptized but they do teach.
Blind leading blind i guess.
Those who received the HS were baptized by John the Baptist. and today people think one must receive the baptism of the HS in order to be baptized. I don't think so
@Job32x11 So ask yourself in accordance with scripture, does Christ care if a person is water baptised or filled with the Holy Spirit (ie spiritually baptised)?
@JayElleist " does Christ care if a person is water baptised" YES!
Mat 21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons;
Mat 21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? (speaking of baptism) They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots GO INTO THE KINGDOM of God before you.
Luk 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
@Job32x11 It is apparent the issue of immediate water baptism is your standard. If this is as serious as you claim, what of those who come to Christ just before they die? Is their salvation void?
Acts 22:16 why tarriest, ARISE be baptized (water) WASH AWAY thy sins. (agrees Acts 2:38) after Ananias layed hands on Paul to receive the Holy Ghost (Act 9:17) , Paul a believer for three days still had sins
@Job32x11 I do not know if you believe salvation by works (if you do there is another problem), but turning water baptism into way of regeneration is sin against God for it takes glory of what He does and gives it to man's actions.
I will think of what you've said, but please think of what I've said. May we both adhere to scripture.
@JayElleis .. it takes glory of what He does and gives it to man's actions. No it doesn't Luke 7:29 publicans, justified God, in baptism. I have refuted all the common arguments you use, in previous videos. Watch them. Baptism is a work??? My video "faith without works" Baptism is symbolic???? My video "nobody's fault but mine" Baptism means Spirit???? My video "Water Gospel" Baptism necessary?? see my video Baptism (Is it necessary" my understanding is supported by scripture
@Job32x11 In Mark 16:16 does it reference water baptism or spiritual baptism? Do you forget that there are two baptisms? The spiritual baptism is instantaneous, and the other is administered as a symbol. I turn to God for ALL my beliefs and rely upon Him before you dare to say what is in a persons thoughts. As for James it speaks of asking God for wisdom in matters which is right, but does this change that you see the water baptism as higher than the baptism administered by God Himself?

@JESSEHUGHART "i have listened mr. Washer at great length" your first mistake
second is, no scripture to support "a real regeneration should precede a real baptism."
No probationary period here ! baptism administered immediately with urgency ref Act 22:16 Act 2:41 Act 16:33 Act 8:36 Act 8:12
In your gospel, who chooses, judges when a convert is suitable to be baptized. (most denominations )
I doubt you will bother reading the ref's given. Spoon fed on false doctrine

@JayElleist "does it reference water baptism" OF COURSE!
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, BAPTIZING them ! baptizing them with what?
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
So the scriptures clearly teach this baptism is administered by disciples. (water)
the term "received " is always used of the Holy Ghost Act 8:17,Act 10:47, Act 19:2 Gal 3:2
