The 5 was built in 1986, so she still has a ways to go before she goes in for a new boiler. The 7 was completed in April 2006, and comes out on Weekends.

Yes, she is a 2-6-2, she is a model of a 1911 Baldwin design which features modern electric headlights, a Walschert's valve gear, steel cab, steel pilot, and back up light.

I am heading to Tilden Park tomorrow, and hopefully the 4 Spot will be finished, or the 5 spot will be steaming.

Great railraod, live close to it. #4 is near 40 years old I believe, the volunteers are probably fixing her up, as she only runs on the weekdays when traffic is light.

Actually, it was built in 1965, so 43 years of service. Compared to the other 3 engines it is the weakest with 710 pounds of tracktive effort and weighs only 3.25 tons.

I saw engine 7 when I was there, and found out that 5 is still running, it's the 4 that's in the shops.

The 4 is in pieces, I went into the RVRy shops, and saw every bit of it, except the boiler, it's cab, headlight and a few other bits from it are on the counter, the stack is on the floor, and it's chassis is on the repair track.

The Redwood Valley Railway is totally awesome man, I'll be going there for the first time on Sunday.

The 5 won't be there though, it's undergoing overhaul in Fresno, I really want to see the 4, although I heard 11 or 7 will operate tomorrow.
