Nice video Al... when I was listening to the audio, I kept hearing the incoming/outgoing message sound from iChat and i thought my computer was going off! Haha, anyway those robots are really cool... Josh
I take it "Battle Bots" was like our English TV show called "Robot Wars"? I used to rush home from school to watch it! Robots with flippers, chain saws, axes etc. Then they stopped making it, very sad lol! Cool stuff, Alfred! - AJ
Battlebots was formed after the American "Robot Wars" was picked up by the BBC. It differed from Robot Wars in the aspect that all the matches were one on one save for the rumbles that were held for fun. No house robots either, though you maybe could count Chinkilla and Ginsu as house bots... They never fought in official matches though.
Note: These are not 'battle bots' (too bad). They are designed to do a specific goal oriented/team oriented set of tasks. They are remote piloted by a driver. If it was me, I'd have a button so that I could emit an EMP to disable all of the other bots. Nice.
Whatever did hapeen to battlebots? I fucking loved that show :) Anyways awesome vid 5 stars.
What would be the point of an EMP. Seems like a more technical or clever thing would be to figure out how to control a robot with enough skill to help your team get high points. Any unskilled move like disabling or flipping over some opponents while may "work" doesn't seem very cool when you look at the big picture.
I mean in the real world a dumb bully can punch out some nerd type kid, but really who is the winner in that situation. Perhaps the bully when he walks away, but further down the road it may be the bully who ends up in jail or flippin burgers and the nerd who has designed and engineered the burger cooking process/equipment or even the jail security systems. Who is better off then? What do you think?
Why do people say "First post! ?" It really makes no sense, especially for someone with a few hundred or more subscribers, because chances are if you see no comments, then your cookies haven't refreshed yet.
