  • Paul Hamm a vulgar cheater and drunk driver. Now he has shown his true colors. He lost his job, very well done.

  • Paul Hamm is a disgusting person. The Korean should receive the gold, and for me Hamm is as a vulgar cheater. The fact that he drove drunk is a proof that he is a despicable person. I hope he stay in jail

  • @alubini You and some others hear are amazing. You conveniently (purposefully?) forget that the Korean also made an error (an extra hold) that was NOT caught or deducted for that, had it been, would have put him out of the medals altogether. Of course, this was widely publicized - everyone knows about it - and yet....you make no mention of it! So, if you go back and change the start value, go back and change for the deduction the Korean should have had, too.

  • Paul Hamm is not an honest person. He shouldn't get both 04 olympic gold medal and 03 worlds gold. He knows this, but he still shamelessly keeps these gold medals. How did he win these 2 golds? Because some judges helped him by devaluing Korean gymnast's SV and overscored Hamm's, remember his horrible vault at 03 and still got 9.4+?. 04 gold should be Korean's and 03 gold should be Yang Wei's. A dishonest and immoral person will eventually show his true color.

  • This is a disgrace in my opinion.

  • is he gay?

  • @jehrising NO! Why would you think that??

  • He sounds like Cricket from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

  • he is disgrace ok

  • @SuperNonhuman

he is a sexy All American Male and a Olympic Gold Medalist!!

  • Ah, the kinky things I'd do to this man!

  • idc that he got the medal but what disgusts me is how he says he should be the only one with the medal cause hes the only one that deserved it.

  • 5:33 - 5:38, beautifully put.

  • paul hamm deserved the medal in the end, it wasnt his fault with all the controversy, it was the stupid judges. and of course korea was going to protest the win, they hate the US.. so its kind of a no brainer there. but in reality i think it was dumb of the FIG to try and place all the blame on Paul, and try to have him give back his medal. It wasnt his fault, the judges should have been fired or trained better in learning how to count scores, lol. idk

  • hey Im sorry for that comment but that wasnt me who write the comment it was a piece of shit friend of mine ,so in my behalf I just want to say SORRY Ok

  • straight as an arrow dude, he's engaged. sorry to burst your bubble but hey i'm not here to judge

  • he has an annoying voice

  • It's South Korea's fault, not FIG's. They didn't bring up the start value problem. Paul deserves the medal, just get over it.

  • sighs**** i love paul hamm. but i think you're right in the fact that he actually thinks he earned the medal. hmm... but i think people should jsut get over it though. i mean, i'm over nastia and he kexin. so ya.

  • Thank you. I am over it actually...was never under it to be honest, just wanted to through in my opinion based on what I saw and how things unraveled. I can certainly see the US contingency having a major problem if their athlete finished behind Hamm.

  • He earned it cuz he's good at what he does. Stop coming up with reasons to not like him because you can't FIND any.

  • WHOA dude, I'm sorry. From the looks of your lingo I think you're lost. The 1920's is THAT way....*points west*

  • he looks like a douche but y is everyone blamin him...its not his fault...his good at wat he does...but the blame should fall on the judges not on him...fuckin idiots

  • Guys enough with his voice! With all that happened in 2004, that was honestly the last thing I expected to find people commenting on. With the crap that these guys have to put their bodies through, coming out with a higher voice is ahead of the game. A lot of gymnasts have high voices, both male and female.

  • i dont have a high voice... neither does david durante...

  • Not every gymnast has a high voice, but it's certainly not uncommon in this sport.

  • that's true

  • :o)

  • u a world class gymnast????????

  • Not even close. Physical activity and I are bitter enemies.

  • i like

  • oops... meant to say i like an honest answer! :-)

  • he sounds gay

  • not really..his voice is just really high

  • he sounds like his balls have been chopped off at a young age and he's been roiding it out for his gymnastic career. haha or that he's actually a very very butch chick.

  • This happened in 2004. There is an entire new Olympic game to complain about with poor judging. Paul Hamm has the medal, whether or not anyone is happy with it. The system isn't perfect and hasn't been in a while.

  • Fair enough Paul Hamm you're the Olympic Champion as it stands. But, the IOC could have awarded another Gold to Korea, as they did for the drama of the Pairs Skating in the SLC games of 2002.

Only 2 years after the farce of 2002, the precedent doesn't apply to the Korean athlete.

    How pathetic!

  • olympic games has too much drama. i think he deserved it. let life be and move on. there's too much drama around the world already. enjoy it for what it is. no one's to blame and live a little and enjoy the moment.

  • he has the gold medal. he has the admiration of his fans. if he had given the medal back, he would have had the admiration of the entire world! i sure hope he's happy with the medal.

  • The Court ruled that Paul SHOULD keep his medal. He said he would go with what the Court decided, then they came out with that.

I totally agree. I hope he's very happy with his medal. Like all gymnasts, he worked hard, put in the hours, and [like most] he played by the rules. He deserves to be happy with his medal.

  • if it was considered at all for the judges to go back and completely change the score of a gymnast because of a "mistake", then thats what they should do to every gymnast after they score them, review the routine and make sure they scored them correctly, having a lower start value then what shouldve been, is the exact same as getting deducted for something that shouldnt be a deduction so it only makes it fair for the entire sport to completely review and rejudge every person if 1 is complaining!

  • guys, i used to take gymnastics and this was appalling. its not pauls fault but the fact that they started the yang tae yung's routine one tenth lower and the margin of victory was less than one tenth ! come now, there is a mafia behind this he fell on top of the goddamn judges this is a matter of principle here.the guy trained his entire life for this and in the end got skrewed out of a gold medal.

  • weird voice.. hummm!?

  • what is up with his voice?!

  • Paul is not a cheater. He's a very mediocre gymnast who won the gold medal at the Olympics. That's f*ed up sport!

  • I don't think it's fair to say that Paul is a cheater. The judges screwed up, and Yang waited too long to contest the error. I think they're both deserving gymnasts considering Yang was solid all night and Paul was able to come back and make it on the podium after that fall. I think a second gold medal should've been awarded to Yang just like they did in salt lake city with the pairs figure skating controversy and the french judge.

  • as long as he wins gold, his country will never judge, unless he didn't win gold. if he didn't win gold, his country would talk trash about others. nothing unusual...

  • Paul Hamm was the best that night

and he deserve that medal more than any competitor

    so shut up fucking haters

    Go USA

  • "the best"????? he ended up on the judge's table on the vault! hahaha

  • stole from Nemov? nemov had his score come up BEFORE Hamm went up to compete and they changed the score BEFORE Hamm did his routine, so how exactly was he favored? it would make sense if his score came up after the new Nemov score. And even if Hamm's score was lower then Nemov, Nemov still would have only gotten the bronze with the new score, so then who would you blame?

  • Yes he was. He had the best comeback ever and the Korean guy wouldn't have even gotten bronze if they counted a mistake that they missed.

  • HE stole from Nemov? HE did? I have to say I'm utterly shocked...

but of course you're right. I almost missed the breaking news story where, under cover of night, Paul Hamm was seen breaking and entering on Nemov's property. Luckily a heroic citizen managed to get it all on camera....

Nemov was cheated, yes, I agree, but I didn't see Paul whip out his little pen and start taking deductions. The athletes are the VICTIMS.

You, my angry little friend, are the loser, not Paul.

  • ahahahaha u can say that again my friend!

  • his voice is definitely not very deep and masculine, but it's not THAT bad

  • it sounds like he sucked in helium b4 he went on the show

  • The korean guy was clearly superior

  • He stole the medal. He is a big fat cheater. And Amercians love the cheater. What a insolent fool.

  • He didn't cheat, it was all the judges fault. Plus they missed a mistake that would have taken the Korean guy out of medal contention.

  • Two gold medals were awarded in the figure skating for the winter olympics last time. When such mistake was made to the Canadians, but no such thing happened to the Korean athelete. I could see Paul was greedy even for the medal that doesn't truely deserve.

  • Also a Korea guy got cheated by using drugs.

Thanks to him, US has a bronze.

Korean guy didn't follow the RULES.

If he know about the mistake, why he announced it DURING the games.

Paul wasn't cheated and not his fault.

The judges and Korea guy fault.

Rules are part of the game.

Asians need to follow the rules.

  • Paul desvered it!

    Not that korean guy.

Just like he said its not his fault the stupid judges can't add.

  • that makes absolutely no sense at all. Why didn't the Korean guy deserve it. "It's not his fault the judges can't add." If the olympic games were held in the USSR back in the day and the judges beefed it like that, you better grab your bulletproof vests.

It wasn't Paul's fault that the judges couldn't add, but to say Yang Tae-Young didn't deserve it is heartless. I'd much rather have Paul Hamm get silver and criticize judges for not catching errors in Yang Tae-Young's high bar than this.

  • Well, if the Korean guy said something in DURING the game(which the rules say), he might win.

Paul Hamm wins because he follow the RULES.

  • That white guy sucks.

  • Also, he was in the all around men tourment two days ago. He got mess up and didn't qualify.

That Korea guy wasn't that good anyway.

    So suck it up.

    (P.S. I'm black.)

  • his voice is wayyyy too high !!

  • He needs to take some serious testosterone. He has a really high pitched voice. Don't get me wrong. He's a great gymnast, but seriously.

  • hes a beautiful young jock hes strong an he and his g/f and future wife will have lots of babies! paul is far superior to any chianese gymnist.

  • him and his brother have the most annoying voices!!

  • su voz es chistosa jajaja

  • oh, hes not gunna make it to Beijing, what happened? I haven't been keeping up

  • He strained his rotator cuff in his accelerated comeback from his broken finger (fourth metacarpal). It only sets him back about a month, but that's still too long for the Games. If he were to compete on it, it would get worse, send him into surgery, and problem kill his performances as well. It's a huge, huge, huge disappointment.

  • "Right now I'm planning to continue and hopefully make it to the Beijing Olympics..."

I guarantee you, Paul, we were too! We'll miss you so much! It's tooooooooo disappointing!

  • For all intents and purposes, Paul DID make his third Olympic team.... he's just a little sidetracked this summer.

:'( I still refuse to believe it.

  • Yes, that's true! Still, however, for me the consolation is poor just because I will miss him SOOOOOOOO much at the Olympics. I know we all will. Sometimes when I'm particularly down I check the site where I heard of his withdrawal and hope it's either been changed or never happened in the first place! This may seem like overkill, I know, but he's just such a special guy! He's one in a million and no MAG Olympic competition will ever seem complete without him.

  • Yeah, and Yang Tae Young also had one too many static holds on his p-bars. As this is a mandatory .2 deduction under COP, even if his SV had been placed where it should he still would have finished out of the medals. If his SV had been correct from the start and they'd missed this mistake, then you could say Young won by a "calculation error." If they'd gone back and changed his SV they'd have to change their other error: either way Paul wins. Yes, fair treatment IS American philosophy.

  • Paul Hamm isn't a disgrace to anybody. He's a marvelous athlete but even more he's an amazing human being. The only shame in this competition is how Paul will be forever followed by these erroneous questions of "What if?" when all was proven days after the competition ended. Anyone who tries to tell him he stole his gold is the disgrace, NOT HIM!

  • Listen, I understand that people are still, 4 years later, heated about this topic, but there is no reason to resort to immature and highly insulting name-calling. Your profile says you are 34 years old; I would expect a 34 year old to be able to have a respectful (even if it is disagreeable) conversation without resorting to sounding like a teenager. I'm ten years younger than you, and I have better sense than that.

  • "if you get mad at me you could just hit me with a medal"

    x]

i wish he could go to beijing...:[

  • I'm so upset right now about that. I never saw it coming. I just can't believe it!

  • haha his voice !

    but whatever he's bomb !

  • what da! his voice wasn't what i expected :|

  • that's pretty much what I expect from a male gymnast...

  • Paul Hamm can, that's who.

  • Yep, That was the intention of the message: Who can win a gold medal after a fall anyway?....Ups! Now amercians can...does not matter how either legal or ilegal.

  • what a horrible voice though

  • You did make your country proud, Paul! Young's error was not the only mistake made in the Games. I believe Paul was the true winner and deserved that medal!

And that Alexei thing was hilarious just in an ironic way. After all that had happened, it had to be poor Paul? If I were him, I wouldn't step foot outside my house...

Was this only a week after Athens? It seems more settled here than I remember...

  • ok, just because someone has a high pitched voice does not make them gay!! no one can control the sound of their voice and, God forbid, that a straight guy might actually be born with a high voice. Paul has a girl friend and it is horrible that people are judging him in such a negative way.

  • no... it's just wishful thinking that he might be. ;)

  • um.....well, he isn't. im not sure what your orientation is, but he does have a girl firend. I wish ppl would understand that the sound of their voice does not determine someones sexuality, to be rather frank

  • GO YOU, lovinmichaelbuble! You're so right!

  • yes! david letterman is gay!!!

  • haha, nice one! :)

  • is he gay?

  • Why.. do you want to go out with him?

  • WOW he has a very high pitched voice....

  • gymnastics pretty much stunts people's growth. If you listen to female gymnast interviews, especially Kerri Strug, their voices are a really high pitch also.

  • Also just look at their bodies. Most of the girls have very little to no chest, whatsoever.

  • How UUUU DOOOOINNN?

  • A fine young man with class. Although it's hard to believe anyone could win the all-around competition at the Olympics with a fall, to his credit he came back with a gusty performance by nailing perfect routines on the Parallel Bars and the High Bar. Also, considering that he has the name and reputation of winning the all-around competition at the World Championships in 2003, I feel that he did deserve to win his gold medal at the Olympics in 2004.

  • And now look at all the class he has resigning from the Olympic team and giving up his dream so that the US might have a better chance at medaling. While I still think having him on the team is our best shot, he's a true Olympian and idol and he handled it well.

  • I'd be more than happy to try to prove you wrong :-P

  • shut your face........you're gay

  • 20 bucks, you are too

  • 20 bucks, you are too

  • I love Paul Hamm, he's so cute!! No one deserved to win that gold medal more than him!! He performed so well before and after that fall. He's a true champion

  • im too the #1 fan

  • go paul hamm!!!!!!!! #1fan

  • Anyone know why the video doesn't want to play?

  • i met paul hamm, didn't meet morgan though

  • He is my favourite gymnast.

  • Paul Hamm has a very high pitched voice. But he is an amazing gymnast

  • 7you're very welcome ;-)

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I missed it when it aired on tv and hadn't gotten a chance to see it until now. If you have any other Hamm interviews I'd love to see those, too.
