  • patti boyd was an attractive female...until she smiled. bitch can floss her teeth with a totem pole

  • This makes me cry because it's just so beautiful. Bless you George xxxxx

  • I love this version. There's something just that much more raw and passionate compared to the version on the album. <3

  • Esta versión es mucho más emotiva q la original !!! genialidad de Harrison !!!

  • Perfection.

  • Amazing version definitely. Not rare though - it's on Anthology 3. George was great, but let's be honest, Paul and John are waaaaaaaaaaaay superior as songwriters. Put their back catalogues against George's and I'm afraid he's not in the same league. At all.

  • Underrated for Sure !

  • Something : One of the Best Songs EVER Written! ...may it keep on living thru eternity!

  • Te amo!

  • Better than original version.

  • SHUT UP! THATS HARRISON YOU IDIOT!!!

  • wasn't take 1

  • lol The three dislikes were John, Paul, and Ringo because they were jealous.

  • Miss you George..

  • I love this version of Something... It is so "natural".. Do you understand me?

  • @TheShitar :D I know what you mean!!!!!! I much prefer this to the one that was put out

  • The Bitch Pimped him !

  • awesome rare version. love the soul and bare element of it. just a man and his guitar:)

  • It's just music. The best,forever...

  • I like This one

  • I don't think anyone with a heart could dislike this.

  • 1:27 do do do dom

    L)

  • so sweet

  • @aneil68 you make a great point, i love george too but pattie wasnt the only one to blame there, wow doesnt she look good in this picture

  • @KaptKan - He wasn't faithful to her at all. In fact, he condoned Clapton's affair and slept with Eric's wife. He also slept with Ringo's wife. He took a lot of Coke between meditation. Wasn't the best bloke to have as a friend.

  • no me cansaré de escuchar este demo *-* Harrison rules!

  • Thanks to whoever posted this....even in this early raw state the song is just beautiful...in fact I might even prefer it over the finished version...

  • @aneil68 thanks man!

  • I'm crying at this :']

  • Oh that voice.

  • i dont get it...is this 100% george? alone? not 2 guitars?

  • George at his absolute best !!! Utterly beautiful !! Peace ! Rx

  • my goodness hes handsome, and Pattie Boyd is so gorgeous I'm jealous

  • @Darkblossomxx yeh she is. shame his buddy Eric Clapton took Pattie from George

  • @bigmatt9494 lol i know that was messed up

  • @bigmatt9494 Ohh yes I remember now, all I ever thought of as his wife for so many years was Olivia.

  • Wow.... I mean, just, wow...

If only this had been released, the song would still be a classic.

  • POOR GEORGE! His documentary skipped theaters and went straight to cable TV. Worse, his wife Olivia turned out to be an inarticulate spokesperson for the man, sounding more like a muttering, stuttering secretary or spacey next door neighbor. Although she was respectful, one didn't get the feeling that she loved him. I understand. In the end, it was clear that George was not worthy of an entire documentary of his own. It would be like a 4 hour tour of my living room!

  • this shouldnt be up on youtube there is literally hundreds of other people who alreeady put this up on youtube.we have way too many.just wasted space on youtube.

  • this is beautiful..

  • dum, dum ,dum dum dun lol

  • I teach 6th grade, I'm amazed, my stu's... love the Beatles but more George Harrison!!

Actually asked when is their next concert!!!!!

  • @alecastelliani

Hey, it's really good to know kids are still appreciating the Beatles (especially George!).

  • @Trafalgar1961 I grew up on this stuff man :) 25 proud years of knowing these guys are some of the best composers to ever grace this planet. I have used their music as a case study to teach myself several instruments. So much so that I now have beatles voices in my head that tell me how to play, sometimes. Not in a creepy way, just in a "change to this chord" kinda way. Their music is timeless :)

  • @dedballoonz I grew up on it too.

Born in 1961, I was lucky enough to have a gaggle of older sisters who loved the Beatles and were buying the singles & the albums as they came out in England. There is a reel to reel recording of me and my twin brother singling the chorus of 'She Loves You' together, as the rest of the family chuckle and 'awww' at us.

As a teacher with musical knowledge, you're in a very good position to explain to kids who are interested, how revolutionary The Beatles were.

  • @Trafalgar1961 I'm not a teacher, I mean that I taught myself how to play. I would like to be a music teacher one day, though :) When I get older :)

  • @dedballoonz My mistake and I apologize! I mixed you up with allecastiellani.

I hope you achieve your dream, but keep playing even if you don't.

There is something very special about being able to make music in any capacity. I really admire you for teaching yourself.

  • @Trafalgar1961 Thanks! :) You should it too, learning the beatles is the best way to learn I reckon. Learn them album by album in order, you'll be great by the end of it. John had an incredible mind for rhythm guitar, it taught me a lot about how to use a guitar. George is good for melody and building dexterity in the fingers. Paul has a good mind for chords and basslines. Ringo's drumming is simple but exciting. Just buy a song book and a cheap guitar :) You'll never regret it!

  • the most Underrated Beatle

  • @xtremerockomaniac East to be underrated when you wrote 15% of the content.

  • They should have stopped at Take 1, seriously

  • Awesome version of an awesome song, recorded by the composer on his own birthday! Thanks for uploading.

  • How is it possible that four brilliant people came together in the same universe. A blessing from God perhaps for all mankind?

  • @enginebelly gods fake

  • ...and these eyes!!! :D

  • Estupendo!!!

  • wow. George!!!

  • The Beatles are Awesome Im A Kid

  • didn't know he was that melodic with the voice. very good

  • A harrison song makes me think ¨the beatles ¨ more than a lennon or macartney song. for 45 years he has been the beatles for me.

  • ♥ in some ways i kinda like this better but of course the finished version is amazing too :)

  • He had such a rough voice

  • 1:31 I don't know , I don't know....dum dum dummmm george kick ass! xD

  • This has nothing to do with the song, but George and pattie were so cute! ^w^ ok I'm done.

  • @kaitopenguin I agree!!!

  • @mylifeisemo101 Oh my gosh I know. :3 Hahahaha! :)

  • 0 Dislikes... Like a Boss!

  • he's sooooooo cute

  • im 21 y and i love the beatles <3

  • @FUCKTHAPOLIZE I am 13 and I LOVE THE BEATLES

  • @KristelRo nice <3

  • @KristelRo Go Ahead ...God bless you ,Beatles 4 ever

  • Very good, except it sucks that Patti in my opinion made a HUGE mistake to leave him.

  • george... what a talent.

  • Considering he's the so called "3rd Beatle", what a tune and how good does George's voice sound here

  • @pricepaul How good does George's voice sound all the time?? :D

  • @MackeyOrange98 Very True

  • This version is better than Abbey Road version

  • @GiannGNR No, the MacCartney's bass lines alone would be enough to give it the preference.

  • These version is so much better.

  • Even if George had only ever written this song, he would still be in the top 3 all time. Bless him.

  • Comment removed

  • @KaptKan1 Wow, that's rude. First of all, they both were unfaithful to each other. I might be wrong, but so might you... let's not go there, when we really only know what we've heard.

  • @smallbimbo You're right; I thought I had removed that thoughtless comment already. I hope it's gone now. George was a great musician and had a lot of good things to say, but few of us are perfect in our personal lives, celebrities or not, so I withdraw the comment.

  • It's pretty awesome to have a song written about you; it's even better to have a good song written about you. However, to have two of the greatest songs of all time to be written about you...well...Pattie must have been quite the woman indeed.

  • I began listening to this song a young boy, but finished listening to it a Man!

  • The best. simply the best. An absolutely gorgeous Beatles song in the most beautiful form...just a man singing with his guitar.

  • I love seeing nobody has pressed the dislike, well done Humans, well fucking done

  • @TheUKMusicOFFICIAL ..trololol

  • @TheUKMusicOFFICIAL my favorite beatle--more important to the band than most folks know. The lead guitar, the harmonizing, what an artist.

  • @TheUKMusicOFFICIAL You spoke too soon mate :/

  • I love that parts when George goes "tum, tum tum tum" instead of a guitar. :D I don't even have any fitting adjectives to describe that. ♥

  • @KawadaNami its a bass not guitar

  • @mrXXrauf182XX lol news: bass is a type of guitar =p the whole name is "bass guitar", after all ;DD

  • wow it's almost different song..

  • Well she lost out . Selling her story.

  • Patti is a good looking sort no wonder Eric Clapton thought she was worth the chase to steal her from his mate George.

  • a handsome couple .....

  • what bieber??

  • Patti is so friggin Hot, I'd like to pound her like a Veal Cutlet.

  • really... the beatles are the best artist of all time

  • the quiet talent beatle

  • You know that demo and take 1 would be two different things right? This is the demo though, yes.

  • sWEEt

  • Fantastic!

    Fantastic!

    Fantastic!

    Fantastic!

    .... Fantastic!

  • ukelele!!!!!

  • what guitar is george playing

  • @beatle1212121

sounds like a Stratocaster, im assuming hes playing his famous Strat "Rocky" but i could be wrong.

  • <3

  • i cryed too

  • i cryed!

  • In my opinion, George's demos are better than the final studio recordings. His voice is just so gorgeous, I can't even stand it.

  • @tasteofmadness Yeah, they're really good without having lennon or mccartney sticking their noses into it. If you've heard I me mine on the Let it Be film its really great.

  • @tasteofmadness because george martin is a retard and tried to hold george h down

  • very good this take!

  • The best ever love song

  • so nice I wanna hear the same song twice

  • is it the very first time that he shown the song on public?

  • i do a cover of this for anybody who is interested in listening and letting me know what they think :)

  • Awesome. George Harrison's best song. Sounds just as good rough.

  • And he was the third best songwriter in the group... And he wrote some of the best pop songs of the last 50 years. Unbelievable.

  • @BadgerinSC Would love to know who you regard as #1, & #2. I have a gut feel who you place where, but would love to know. I bet we have opposing views. Let me know.

  • if you imagine that the hand on george's chest is his own and not pattie's, he really looks like a naughty boy:D

  • @Torbjaaarn lmao!!!!!

  • @Torbjaaarn Haha, I just did that and I totally cracked up. It looks really funny.

  • No idea why but this reminds me of Bob Dylan.

I honestly like this better than the Abbey Road version. Beautiful

  • @ripkurdt

If you ever heard Dylan sing "Something," which he started singing in concert occasionally after GH's death, he sings it exactly like Harrison during his Dark Horse tour of 1974, during which Harrison was suffering laryngitis.

  • @subg88 Oh wow. I most certainly want to hear this. I'm assuming it's not on youtube, though.

  • The beautiful Pattie Boyd inspired some of the best music ever written. Like this song wasn't enough...she was "Layla," too!

  • @BettinaBalser When George was asked if he wrote the song for Pattie, his quote was "Not really", justs someone took some video of us and John & Yoko, Paul & Linda and put the video together." I didn; know that until just a few days ago. Look for the quote someplace on You Tube.

  • @ratpackvegas OH NO! I refuse to believe that!

  • This seemed to be inspired by Harrison's wife, Pattie, but he claimed he did not have anyone in mind when he wrote it. George was really into his studies of Krishna Consciousness when he wrote this song and its original intent was as a devotion to Lord Krishna. In fact, the lyric was "something in the way HE moves." George ended up changing it because he didn't want to be perceived as a "poof."

  • @BettinaBalser Not only Layla but Wonderful Tonight too, what a woman eh?

  • @60sduke The song is about Krishna, not Pattie. George says it in his 1980's autobiography "I Me Mine" . He explains almost all of his songs he wrote from his first Beatles' song "Don't Bother Me" to his album "George Harrison" (which was the last album he wrote before he published the book).

  • @RantingThespian Whos Krishna?

  • This demo gives me goosebumps.

  • sounds so nice and raw, much like the demo for while my guitar gently weeps.

  • Tremendous.

  • Oh what a treasure to any real George Fan .... simply wonderful and beautiful

Thanks so much for uploading this (!!!)

  • According to Boyd, Clapton played the song for her at a party, and later that same evening confessed to George that he was in love with his wife. The revelation caused no small upset between the three of them, but Pattie and George remained married for several more years, and Harrison and Clapton retained their close friendship with no apparent signs of damage. The title, Layla was inspired by the The Story of Layla / Layla and Majnun, by the Persian 12th century poet Nizami Ganjavi. (Wikipedia)

  • I love this version so much better bah.

  • The most beautyfull love song ever recorded period.

  • i never knew something so simple could be this beautiful...

  • great singing too - so musical. thanks for putting this up.
