  • what kind of tree duz the solid fuel tablets grow on......i can make a fire out of dried zombie bones....

  • Where did you get that small chair?

  • I bought a German army surplus Esbit folding stove. Then I bought a new Esbit folding stove. NOT MADE IN CHINA!

  • ...njam,...njam,...

  • i notice that alote of your videos take place in the area you are in is it your private property or public land because it looks nice over there

  • This not really a stove, 3 small rocks would be as good to keep the pot over the fuel tablets.

  • couldn't you use the tablet at a fire starter then throw little twigs under there to stretch it out?

  • hey im only 12 years old but i like to make bug out bags so if yall dont mind if yall can tell me if this is stove is really good

  • a suggestion is put a piece of tin foil below the burning stuff because it will keep any flame from coming out the bottom

  • the rule should be ;never eat a beetle, unless you have to', lol

  • Not trioxane not sterno. It's hexamine.

  • great vid . thanks for sharing you little stove

  • why do people always use plastic utensil??

  • thats not sterno thats hexamine or trioxine

  • Now, the canteen cup stoves, i have one for my Backpacking kit, should i get a different stove to cook with my messkit on, or will my Canteen cup stove work?

  • @ViolentKisses87 i have had the very same stove for over 20 yrs and i still use it, i give this stove 100% perfection in durability, price £5.00 (and it still costs the same) portability and very easy to use

  • @ViolentKisses87 jet boil is great and the cup version is portable

  • @ViolentKisses87 Hi how about the DK rocket stove, roll it up in your bug bag and go.

  • @ViolentKisses87 Hi how about the DK rocket stove, roll it up in your bug bag and go

  • @ViolentKisses87 easy bake ovens work good

  • @whiteboypatrickkelly I'm not sure if that is a misogynistic comment or just a general troll...

  • @ViolentKisses87 blah haa haa ha!

  • They are (or were) standard british issue stoves.

    Okay- within their limits.

For stuff like this they are great.

  • For weight, reliability and ease of use this little stove with esbit tabs it hard to beat. Makes a sticky mess of your cookware but who cares... its camping. You can skip taking the folding stove and put your pot on top of 3 titanium tent stakes and put the esbit tab right on the ground, rock etc.. and save some weight.

  • Nothing tastes quite like survival like beetles and noodles.

  • I bought one from Brigade Quartermaster 15 years ago. It was called a TommyCooker back then.

  • It may cook in just the same time but theres about at least 5 minutes of preparation making a fire. Then you have to make enough coals and by then its been a half an hour.

  • lot of campers like to get in and out without leaving footprints, like cutting down or burning the forset, so they use their own fuel

  • otherwise known as the esbit stove. works great but a little heavy. I have one of these but my fav lil portable is the mini trangia. google it.

  • I've never had a desire to see if I could eat bugs. After watching that guy try one, I think I would only do it as a last resort. Not for fun.

  • the tryoxen stoves work ok i see it works good enuf for a cheap walmart mess kit

  • I've had a folding sterno stove for years, works great for backpacking. Mine uses a resealable can of that classic sterno alcohol fuel. Works great.

  • Cherrypersonee based on the description the fuel tablets are Non-toxic and environmentally safe, have virtually no ash residue and are nearly odorless.

  • British army Hexi-cooker?

  • I'd advice to avoid touching trioxane fuel too much, I've heard it's toxic.

  • there is another item i want to get my hands on from readypro...

  • He should wash his hands after touching the fuel tablets.

  • Nice stove for the price -- Under $5 with 8 fuel tabs!

  • WOW was kicked from the site, one of the mods does not have a life there.... if the world was ran by forum mods we would be in WW3 be now

  • Not much to it! Sterno works great!

    John

  • I like the Woodstoves better, you can use both tablets, alcohol and all.

They also are more green because you can use wood in them.

Think that you got is more for military use and such.

  • This does look like an ok stove, I use a light my fire meal kit wich I think is alot better.

  • u r a tool

  • capitaindouleur - if i get lost in the wild DO YOU THINK IM GOING TO HAVE GARLIC BUTTER ON ME??!! lol

  • I suggest grasshoppers boil them in salted water and after pulling off the legs and wings you cook them in garlic butter, yummy.

  • those little stoves are great you can use any solid fuel in those ,hex tabs so on and so on.

  • Trust me when you are in the middle of the middle of the desert and last ate two days ago. You will eat anything non poisonous...lol

I have two of those stoves one in my pack and one in my wife's got them from my local surplus store.. Nice review Kevin and Cory

  • y didn't u show him eating the beetle?

  • groose but good vid

  • Kevin- Good Vid, again. What is the pack to cory's left?

  • MrBreeze250 - the pack next to the stool? That is a Maxpedition Condor II. The one to his right is a Maxpedition Falcon II.

  • It looks like an extra large Esbit stove.

  • Why is he eating beatles?

  • rangerdanger222 - he wanted to see what they taste like.

  • is that a hexi stove?

  • After watching this and seeing the ramen i had to go make some and as a college student i gave a whole case of it

  • Cool stove.

  • thats pretty kool. very light weight looking compact. no liquid to spill in your pack i am going to have to get one of these.

  • Wow, the last time i use that stove was during my scouting days 20 years ago.

Those were the good old days..

  • We call them hexamine stoves in AUS

I get mine from ARMY surplus stores.

Work great with solid fuel or metho in cut can/baked bean tin.

  • the stove is exactly the same we were issued, when i was in the army.

we used hexamine tablets here in australia, while in the usa i believe you use trioxane fuel tablets?

  • this is good stuff :)

  • Nice Video. And good job on the beetles :)

The Stove looks almost exactly like an Esbit Stove.

  • Esbit/hexamine stove

  • dude! Beetle ramon noodles!

  • Those Ramen spice packets are loaded with monosodium glutamate (MSG), something a lot are allergic to and don't know it, others that are extremely allergic to. Will give you the trots in 5 to 30 mins easy, since the sodium acts just as citrus of magnesium does.

So what to use? Get some McCormick sauce packets from your local grocery market. I've had the Italian, Thick 'n Zesty, Beef Stew, Sloppy Joe, Alfredo, Chili, and others. Mmm Mmmmm!!!

  • not bad guys!

  • Wow, these guys are just out there having a good time and trying to teach people, and you come on here and say that shit? Please go back to masturbating and stop bothering people who actually do shit with their lives.

  • @chickenz666 Stop feeding troll like a Internet newbie. You only make it worst.

  • I gotta get me one of those

  • Why not shoot something worth eating? Squirrel, songbird?I know you own guns.

  • To demonstrate that you can eat them if you had to. Plus he said he wanted to eat them I don't see anything wrong with that.

  • Never said there was anything wrong with it.

  • Looks like you guys had a nice day out hiking. Bringing along a packet of hot sauce for those beetles would have helped; plus it's a handy item for fatigue, clearing your sinuses and helps open up your lungs while you're out hiking and breathing deeper. Good job Corey. That was a cool and nifty cooking set up, sort of like you and your dad. I'm gonna get me one of them. Great coverage of the product, thanks.

  • are those hexamine tablets at the end?

  • you could cut regular spaghetti noodles in 1/3 pieces and put them in a ziplock bag and use the sauce powder from the Ramen. Because the noodles that come with Ramen are not as good as nice cheap regular spaghetti noodles.

  • lol u boil water till its hot as hell then u put the noddles in and it should take like 3 mins for them to get nice and soft then por the packet in the noddles wile cooking then stir then u got rly good noddles

  • Actually it would seem that way but two insects that are clean to eat are the locust family (grasshoppers) and beetles. Like he said you have to pull certain things off the beetles, and for the grasshoppers their legs might cause indigestion because its kinda like eating a bone, so you would want to pull those off as well.

  • he probably got 28 grams of protein with those beetles!

  • Trioxane fuel tabs. you can get them military surplus. good in a pinch or short day hikes, but I don't know that they would be right for long term outings. good video... bad bugs..... keep it up.

  • Well I am glad to see Hurricane season has been quiet for you We were immobilized for Dean a few years back spent some time at the airforce base in San Antonio fortunately it stated south of camins

  • looks like you guys are in the southeast somewhere

  • solar ovens are very easy to build too..and quite effecient....simple ovens are very portable

  • BEATLES :) YUM ..

Keep up the vids.. Love um!

  • great video

  • Hey! That's pretty convenient! So, what did Cory think of the beetles? I have never tried them so I am curious. - Les

  • great for camping, bad for WROL. alcohol stoves still are in my heart.

  • think about getting a small "print reader" fresnel lens to cook with....

  • Beetle Ramen noodles. lol

  • sucker looks good, might have to pick me one up for when the twisters come through.

  • Nice!
