  • So far I have only snow-camped in igloos. I would like to try snow-camping in a tent this winter. I just have a feeling it's going to be colder in the tent that in the igloo. Unless I shovel some snow up against the sidewalls...

  • @wildernessreviews haha fair enough, i doubt it would be false if we used it in an a level case study though, and i think its the same thing with cancer patients, where they can live years beyond their expectancy by staying strong and running marathons and things like that

  • @wildernessreviews nope but i could find you some? we did an A level case study on it

  • We isulate the tent with snow outside. Vi do the same thing with lavvo tent. Putting snow on the storm mats. That isulates and make you get comfort temp In a much isier way. Norway

  • What brand of tent is this?

  • I've never camped on snow and was wondering how do you stake a tent down to make it secure in the wind?

  • @hunt458 uh, i have never done it before either but, i think staking up the snow on the sides of the tent will help insulate the tent abit. but that weight on the walls might hurt your tent, so be careful

  • Heat some rocks on your fire, and when you bed down, wrap them in a towel and toss them in your sleeping bag.

    Toasty all night.

  • @TeamLibertyExpress that's ridiculous

  • @TeamLibertyExpress HAHAHAhahaha. yea uh huh.

  • who camps in the snow? I'd rather be in a nice warm cabin.

  • @crazyidiot101 then you should change your username to pussyidiot101

  • @drweelz Fantastic.

  • i will normally dig a snow cave

  • Was that a plastic shovel? :(

  • @powderpig360 less weight

  • I do alot of winter camping.

What tent are you using in this video?

I myself have been using my Coleman Exponent Phact X3 four-season tent.

  • I have the sierra designs mountain metteor 3 and it works very very well in heavy snow for me, my girlfriend, and my two dogs.....as little pricey if your trying to stay in the coleman prics range but i havnt found anything better yet.

  • Nice tent($)....I hope you brought along a sweet young thing to keep you warm.

  • My family goes camping every year during the winter and it usually gets to -30 here or lower.

  • I remember when I first went camping in the Rockies one summer and I completely ignored a guide who spoke of similar information.

    I froze.

    I was 9.

  • your audio sucks...and winter tent camping without a canvas tent w/wood heat sucks too.Trust me...I know.

  • @JBodine67 you're spoiled

  • I know how to be comfortable and keep from freezing. If that's spoiled then yeah I'm really spoiled!

  • Oh well. Don't go camping in winter then mate.

  • I didn't say don't go camping in winter,...I just think that THIS shelter is inadequate.

Snow and ice, sweat and your breath create condensation on the interior tent walls. The condensation drips and soaks everything.Mate.

Why do you think indigenous peoples place a fire INSIDE their shelter?...

  • It's not always possible to carry a huge canvas tent and all the accessories. Thee double-lined tents don't get wet on the inside and as long as you have a good sleeping bag you'll be fine.

  • Double lined tents?.....@weeblefishll...

I live in the proverbial Great White North, and I am afraid the term "hypothermia" was named after folks like yourself.

  • Okay. Alright. I'm not arguing over Youtube. I'm 14, haven't done much camping and live on the Isle of Wight, UK. I'm sorry. I was wrong.

  • @weeblefishll.....No need to be sorry. You have a good day there on the Isle of Wight!...

  • @JBodine67 hypothermia is actually brought on mentally! i got locked out of my house one day last november for 3 hours! it was -13°C snowing and windy as hell and i didnt get hypothermia :P even though i was bound to haha

  • @19jacobob93 Hypothermiais a condition in which core temperature drops below the required temperature for normal metabolism and body functions which is defined as 35.0 °C (95.0 °F) and has nothing to do with the mind....

  • @johnboyrebel27 congratulations, but if you knew much about biology, you'd know that your mind has an overwhelming impact on how your body copes with certain things. there's a true case where a chef went into a walk in freezer to get something, and the door closed behind him and locked him in. the freezer wasnt even switched on and the temperature inside was 16c, but he believed so strongly that he was going to catch hypothermia and die, that he did.

  • @19jacobob93 I am assuming you were dressed warm also....

  • @johnboyrebel27 and no i didn't necessarily dress warm, us Yorkshire folk are built tough ;)

  • Nice tent and sleep system.

    5/5

  • It helps to thaw the tent zipper when it's frozen on super cold mornings. Otherwise the zipper will begin seperating, similar to when it gets sand in it. A tent helped enormously on Appalachian Trail thru-hike begun in winter (Feb. 4, 2001). It helped break the windchill, which really helped because there were some super cold nights.
