Lynn really needs to think about what he's saying before he says it. He says that, with the edge, you can take off body parts or decapitate you then immediately goes on to say that the point is way deadlier. I don't know about you, but I'd be less worried about a (comparatively) little prick in the side next to someone lopping my arm or head off. Not dissing the guy, but he needs to wrap his head around that fact.
@ChishioAme you have more chances of survival if someone cuts a limb (except ur head) comparing to someone stabing your torso and easily hitting vital organs.
@dk0bl1v10n If you really believe that, lemme grab a machete and lop off your arm. The axillary artery is present in both upper arms and it leads directly to your heart; you'll bleed out in about 10-20 seconds if you sever that. The femoral artery in the legs is similar. The only way a thrust to the torso can kill you faster is if you hit the heart, which means going through the sternum or several ribs. There are accounts of fencers from the 17th century fighting with the rapier...

All vital organs are protected by the ribs, which are quite difficult to get through with something as weak as a thrust. Sure, you could hit the stomach, but last I checked, that generally could take several hours to days to die and with modern medicine, you could easily survive it. If you're lucky, you might hit the liver...

Lots of machete deaths are reported that they had to take many hits to be chopped. But the edge it comes with is what's called a utility edge, since it's not as sharp, the edge isn't as thin, therefore not as easy to damage. It's plenty sharp enough for most uses as a tool, but no, it's definately not zombie ready.
