I really like this version, but it left me feeling a little blue-er than the Thompson Twins original. That one always brings a warm feeling to my heart and upon hearing it, I can envision Samantha's and Jake's eyes reflecting the birthday candlelight. Ah, nostalgia.

I discovered Cary Brothers about 4 years ago. I am SO happy they used him and VERY surprised since he's relatively undiscovered so I'm glad a lot of people have looked at this song!!! Wish the guy would create some more albums

i recognized this song immediately in the car scene of easy A. cos 16 Candles was my fave movie in high school. the last scene when she comes out of the church and jake ryan is waiting for her... your cover is great! really brings the sound up to date, but leaves the same whimsy of the original. :)
